    Onana
    Gvardiol, Estupinan, Chilly
    Saka, Martinelli, Bruno, Rashford, Mbuemo
    Jackson Haaland (c)

    Turner, Archer, Baldock, Botman

    1ft 1m itb

Thanks to the Gabriel fiasco I only have 1ft this week. Would ideally have liked to ship Onana on and maybe Martinelli to Maddison/Sterling.

A Martinelli to Sterling (This would allow Estupinan to Tripper next week)
    B Martinelli to Maddison
C Roll (2ft for international break)

I decided to pull the trigger and wildcarded this week. Stuck at the bottom of my cash leagues and too many players stinking out the team (Pickford, Gabriel, Shaw, Rashford, Eze, JP.....also suffered 2 blanks with Bruno) and team needed refreshing.

Current WC draft good to go?

    Leno Areola
    Chilwell Estupinan Udogie Cash Gusto
    Salah Saka Maddison Sterling Mbeumo
    Haaland Alvarez Archer

Still unsure about Salah but I guess it's easy to downgrade and still have enough in the bank

    1. Miguel Sanchez
      • 9 Years
      2 years, 5 months ago

Am very similar on my WC but would avoid Gusto... James should be back after IB and it locks you out of Jackson without a hit or two

      1. House Frey Wedding Planner
        • 7 Years
        2 years, 5 months ago

He can be bench fodder at 4.0 when James returns and could also be an option to play when James inevitably gets injured again a few weeks later

        1. Miguel Sanchez
          • 9 Years
          2 years, 5 months ago

I prefer fodder players from teams I'm unlikely to ever want 3x options from personally but Gusto could well haul again this week.

Looks good of course, but on a WC I wouldn't be sure of Leno & Gusto (for long-term) and I'd probably end up losing Salah. I'm still not sure on Alvarez.

      1. House Frey Wedding Planner
        • 7 Years
        2 years, 5 months ago

Gusto can be treated as 4.0 fodder currently playing because James is out. When James comes back then Gusto will go back on the bench until James gets injured again.

Leno I think is the best FPL option in goal and has a decent rotation with Areola (only tough fixtures between the two for the next 20 weeks are Villa away and Brentford away)

G2G and roll FT, or should I play Archer?

Massive. Conceded 10 goals in the 3 games without him last season & looked trash (albeit 2 of them were Newcastle & Arsenal); only conceded 3+ 2 times (out of 35) with him starting. Still, Leno is a save machine & in rotation where you just play him for LUT/SHU/WOL etc (with Flekken) he should still be ok I think

      1. Andy_Social
        • 13 Years
        2 years, 5 months ago

I'm seriously considering wildcarding GW6, in which case he'll only face Luton (and Fulham did keep a P-less cleanie v Everton). But if I hold off WC for longer, he's not an option. Also depends on whether either of my keepers - Johnstone and Steele - survive.

A re-post as everyone in UK/Europe was asleep when I posted this:

Matheus Nunes to City - what are the implications for FPL?

Nunes himself is a very good player - he does Gundogan things without the goals, which along with Peptation makes him uninteresting FPL-wise, but I just want to bring attention to the knock-on effects of his addition to the City squad.

Probably stating the obvious here, but it puts Peptation into overdrive.
Nunes can rotate with Rodri (who's confessed he plays too many games for his long-term health), and with Kovacic. Pep could also play all three.
The latter would mean Foden or Alvarez would drop out.
With Doku getting some games on the right wing, and Foden occasionally deputising for Grealish on the left, That gives the City midfield two very strong assets for each position.
For me, that only further accentuates Haaland and Ederson as the only nailed City assets. I do see less rotation at the back, with Dias and Gvardiol getting plenty gametime, but even they will be rotated.
Like I say, none of this is surprising - I'll be losing a recently-bought Foden on my upcoming wildcard, and Rodri, Alvarez, Walker, Ake and Akanji got price rises which I think will turn out to be of questionable value.

    1. Get up ya bum
      • 16 Years
      2 years, 5 months ago

Yeah see my recent post on Foden and why I'm not picking him.

  19. ritzyd

In a quandry, wildcard, -4 or free transfers?!

Option 1 (Free Transfers): Odegaard & J.Pedro to Foden & Morris

    Option 2 (-4): Saliba, Odegaard & J.Pedro to Cash, Foden & Jackson

Option 3 (Wildcard): Salah, Mbuemo, J.Pedro, Mateta, Saliba & Odegaard to Sterling, Maddison, Isak, Wissa, Cash and Foden

Feel like I probably ought to save the WC so leaning toward option 2?

I think so as a 4.1 defender getting starts and with good fixtures ahead. Not especially advanced but got 2 assists last week which won't be his last if he plays regularly.

Can slot nicely as bench fodder once James is back

      Big time no!
Change Gabriel and you are good to go. Roll the other transfer.
Otherwise use your second transfer on Marti or Rashford.

Arsenal don't have a great record of keeping clean sheets at home. Better in away games.
