Considering the returns he is getting, great value price and the great fixture run, is Watkins now essential do you think?

    1. RICICLE
      3 years, 23 days ago

Certainly not essential, and he definitely won’t be scoring that highly again for the rest of the season. Still a decent pick though nonetheless. I prefer Alvarez still

Wasn't essential until he hit a hat-trick. He'll become unessential in a few games again no doubt...

Great run of fixtures for a triple up AVL though, before unessentiality

He'll still do well, maybe like his purple patch last season, returning most gws...

Wouldnt sell Alvarez for him though

Watkins isn’t essential, no. Lots of recency bias floating around today.

I’ve gone Diaby as plays in front 2 and get the benefit of the clean sheet point and extra point for a goal etc

    Digne or Cash?
See Cash talked about a lot more, who is more likely to lose place to Moreno?

Cash less likely to lose his spot. Dinge and Moreno play on the left.

    I’m on wildcard!

I’m keen on having a strong squad and playing the fixtures and rotating. I need to go without Salah or Haaland to make this happen. Of course they are the best assets, but also not the best value assets.

I was originally planning to go without Salah, because of all the good mid options. But now I’m thinking of going without Haaland, because of 1,5 mill.
Haaland has quite tough fixtures ahead and when he faces Bournemouth, then Salah faces Luton.

Go with Salah or Haaland? Or is this crazy?

    1. RICICLE
      3 years, 23 days ago

Crazy thinking, and overthinking, Halland is a mainstay all season long.

    2. FOO FIGHTER

You can still have a good squad having both. The thing that is putting you off is their prices but at the end of the day, both are still the best to own.

I can not wait for the Salah fixture swing in two weeks. It’s going to be huge. Thinking 50 points in 4 games. Not going to over think with Haaland, might not captain him though.

Well, I’m worried of course. Feels like a “go big or go home” decision. Maybe just go with the flow and rhink about it.

      It’s between these two then:
      A. Salah, Archer, Estupinan
      B. Bowen, JWP, Trippier

I'm going no Haaland. The game is just not fun captaining him every week. I think 8 million managers captained him at home to Forrest a few weeks back. That just makes me sad.

I’m feeling really hard done by GW 7–just lamenting what could have been.

Salah-should have had an assist for Diaz’s wrongly chalked off goal, and also would have taken the penalty for the foul on Gomez

    Saka-gave away two penalties.

Mbeumo- would have taken the penalty after Turner’s clear foul on Wissa

29 points with just two Luton players left.

    1. Hazz
      • Fantasy Football Scout Member
      3 years, 23 days ago

I'm less bullish on the Turner 'foul'.

He was within his range of motion for the kick that Wissa slid right in for.

Yes it took Wissa out a bit, but at the time Turner had the ball and was purely kicking at the ball.

      1. Dthinger
        • Fantasy Football Scout Member

Wissa had already nicked the ball away so at that point Turner isn’t in possession

When you give advice / reply to questions, are your views tainted by your own team / decisions?

    So
Are you simply justifying your decisions?
Is your advice genuinely to improve someone else's team?

    1. have you seen cyan

I am conscious of bias, I try to avoid it. I appreciate that other people like other plays I might not like, but their stats don't lie, and I don't wont discourage a punt.

    3. Nate(U)dog(ie)
      3 years, 23 days ago

I try not to let my own team or my own decisions affect my advice to others. Funnily enough I've had occasions where I've made a choice for my own team, and then someone else with a similar team or decision to make asks a question and I give an entirely different answer and have a different feeling on it, I often feel like I look at decisions with more clarity and less clutter than my own

      1. notlob legin

Hi Nate - I find your advice on here really constructive and well thought out.
I also agree with you but I am often reluctant to offer advice if it differs from mine, something I need to address.

        1. Nate(U)dog(ie)
          3 years, 23 days ago

Cheers that's very kind of you, I feel like I must annoy a lot with my overly long posts! Plus I'm not exactly good at FPL as I veer away from template most of the time so I'm always wary of giving advice but it's up to each person to make their own choice in the end. I don't think that not advising something different to what you did/do is a bad thing, you decided to do something as you thought it was best so no issue there I think

      • Fantasy Football Scout Member

Yes I think I’m bias to a certain degree, but not that much. I often ask to get a different point of view. But usually my own opinion is the most important.

Hi Rupert. I agree with your own opinion being the most important - sticking to it long term pays off (in my opinion) and is far more rewarding.

I’m a Liverpool fan but was sitting with a Spurs fan. Did anyone find the offside goal simply suspicious? I’m no conspiracy nut but it all seemed a little off. Even the commentators didn’t comment at the time. Quite bizarre.

Yeah I’m trying not to get too carried away and be objective. The first red was a bit harsh but I understand it. But that offside goal was very concerning. It was so bizarre how the commentators didn’t say anything. That’s new to me.

        1. FOO FIGHTER

Jota 1st yellow was an absolute fecking joke. Jones dod not go in intentionally. Disallowed goal an absolute joke.

The ref got his free happy meal after the match.

Yeah when the opponents studs hit Jota’s knee as he was running and that to be a yellow was mind boggling. I’m just not sure what to say really. It’s just all so bizarre and suspicious.

            1. x.jim.x
              3 years, 23 days ago

Should have had a yellow earlier and he was still stupid to lunge in like that while booked. Other than the offside, there’s not really much for Liverpool fans to whinge about. Jones was the easiest red you’ll see all season.

Refereeing aside it’s nice to see we are back as a serious team again. The supposed “leaders” we scrapped from our midfield were seriously hindering us. People forgot the main purpose of a top player is to actually be good at football, not shout and scream.

Yeah, I’m trying to keep level headed and not get too carried away, bu I keep using the word suspicious as the decisions were so odd. I mean why card Jota for a player hitting his trailing foot against Jota?

        1. The Iceman
          3 years, 23 days ago

Your guess is as good as anyone else’s, Jota wasn’t even next to him at the point he went down. Just another terrible decision amongst a whole host of them on the day.

just card the captain for situation's like that, he is meant to have control. But if an individual is also an ahole, then him as well.

    5. Hairy Potter
      3 years, 23 days ago

Couldn't believe that Sky commentators didn't make more of it. Just seemed to accept it as offside. Looked clearly onside in the replay. Seemed pretty much so did most others given the internet reaction.

Neville and the half time pundits were more interested in Jones's red card. Personally I thought it was a red, but can see why people might say it was a yellow. I don't think needed to intervene, as it wasn't a clear error by the ref.

Conspiracy? No, think Liverpool have had more than a decent amount of luck with decisions in recent years. Just plain incompetence last night

    On a WC:

    A) Tripper and Maddison
    B) Burn and Son

      All 4 I would say?
      So both A and B

Think it's done, exact change for a record-low 99.7 TV. WC good to go?

    Areola Turner
    Udogie Cash Gabriel Burn Lamptey
    Salah Son Maddison Neto Chukwu
    Haaland Watkins Alvarez

Decent core, what’s no Salah version like?

There is no version without Salah…….I’d rather err on the side of having him with those fixtures

I would go Salah less with that TV. I think you are sacrifing too much

Possibly, but I’ve drunk the cool-aid and will live with the consequences

one of my mates who was I think 8/10 in my mini league played his wildcard. Last week he got 101 points, this week he is on 69 with Leno to go. He has overtaken the leader, 11 points on his bench will come on lol.

A lot can change at this point in the season. But with those scores a lot could change at any point.

Could do Saka to Alvarez and change formation

Saka seems to be hitting his stride though

Yeah, Saka will be a real conundrum for those that drop him this week

I imagine Son to Saka will be the plan for many in GW10 but that could be tricky if Son keeps doing well

loads of people are just dropping saka and casually not mentioning it lol

Good evening all!! Just stumbled across this idea….

Rashford and Mbeumo to Diaz and Bowen…..

    Any thoughts???? ….

    Would leave me -

    Saka Bowen Son Maddison Diaz
    Haaland Alvarez Morris

My 8 attackers…. Would leave enough to do Alvarez to Watkins the week after if need be!!

    Thoughts welcomed!!!

    Cheers everyone!!
