The last team to keep a clean sheet va Forest in the league was Man U in April. All Palace’s best attackers are injured. Could well be a Roy Hodgson defensive masterclass but it doesnt seem like a banker to me.

Because of Man Utd's fixtures and I can change him to Saka in 2 game weeks' time. My thinking is if I'm not going to captain Haaland, then my upside will be higher

You sure you don't want to captain Haaland against Brighton at home? The biggest problem is when you want Haaland back what on earth are you going to do? Take 3 to 4 transfers to bring him back?

              1. fplchampzzz
                • 8 Years

I have 2.5 in the bank. And yes, have to do 3 transfers if I want him back, which I will have to plan over weeks. Currently it will be around week 15.

I can captain Salah, Spurs or Man Utd that week. Of course, Haaland is still Haaland and can grab a hattrick against Brighton

Well at least you have a plan. I'm certainly can pay off it deoenda how risky you are as a manager. I wouldn't go Bruno on a WC regardless of fixtures. This is my team.

                  Areola Turner
                  Burn Cash Udogie (Botman Kabore)
                  Salah Son Maddison Bowen Diaby
                  Haaland Watkins (Archer)

Only player I'm scared of missing out is Darwin/Alvarez

                    WC team?

My team is not that different. Main difference being Haaland, and I can't seem to let Trippier go. If I can, maybe I can find a way to fit Haaland back in.

                    Areola Turner
                    Trippier Cash Porro (Lamptey Kabore)
                    Salah Son Maddison Bruno (Nakamba)
                    Darwin Hojlund Watkins

                      • 11 Years
                      2 years, 5 months ago

Its a decent team I understand the Hojlund pun but not Bruno. And I think Trippier surely can't keep up this rate his easiest fixtures are now gone. You can go cheaper in defense but can't as easily go cheaper in attack.

Good point on Trippier. I will play around with the additional cash then.

I feel if Man Utd gonna do well, half the effort must come from Bruno. If I'm punting on Man Utd's attack, I might as well go all in.

Rash doesn't seem like he will last the full game. Man Utd defence is still shitty though. I just hope they can compensate with some goals. My feel is they gonna start winning games with these fixtures

Yes - If you are chasing or want to try and keep ahead of the curve IMO.
The majority of all wildcard teams will be very similar. But there is noticeably a slow trickle of Haaland sales.
If you had Alvarez at his early price it might help make the decision to sell.

My WC is down to the below, thoughts?

    - Porro Burn Diaz/Bowen/someone else in this price bracket

    - Udogie Tripp Neto/Douglas Luiz/someone else in this price bracket

Tripps super form gives me a proper headache while I'm not really sure if the next two games are actually good for Bowen, Diaz kind of hit or miss (?)

Tempted to go with Salah over Son as captain.

Think Luton will set up with a low block and try to stifle Spurs similar to how Sheffield United played them. Think Spurs will still win but it won't be the landslide many are predicting.

Brighton are leaking goals and generally set up the same way irrespective of the opposition. Liverpool will have fire in their eyes after last week's controversy.

And then the Saturday early kick off curse working against Son.

the other thing to consider is brighton are just a way better team than luton and luton mght play a low block but not be very good at doing it because of the quality of their players.

I think it all depends on whether or not Spurs can get an early goal. If Spurs score early, Luton can only sit back for so long before going for it.

I'm considering it too (although I'm on Maddison instead of Son). My only worry really is Salah being more of a creator for Diaz and Nunez now, especially as they and others are regularly missing chances he's setting up for them. Great that he's creating so much but a bit like with someone like Eze, if it's not transferring into points because of those around him then the ceiling drops significantly

I just hate to play the Captain in the first game of the GW. Can be good but usually it ruins the rest of the weekend.

BHA with the disadvantage of travelling and playing all their assets including Lamptey over 90min.

Salah, Darwin and Diaz each only played 45min at home. They should be ready to make BHA pay for the VAR fun last weekend. Salah and Darwin should benefit from returning TAA as they have done before. And Estu is missing which will leave Lamptey on his own to stop the machinery.

I think Salah is the better pick over Son who is usually stronger at home when the floodlights are on. But still close.

Awoniyi not consistent in a positive way???? Awoniyi has been on long streak of FPL returns stretching back to last season gw35
        (Last season Awoniyi https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/taiwo-awoniyi/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/295313/plus/0?saison=2022&verein=703&liga=&wettbewerb=GB1&pos=&trainer_id=)
up to gameweek 5 this season. Those two fixtures he did not get returns in were gw6 and 7 v City and Brentford.

Is it because Awoniyi plays for Forest you assume he is not worth FPL consideration?

Thoughts on my WC? 0.1 in the bank..

    Sanchez - Turner
    Cash, Porro, Burn, (Beyer, Lamptey)
    Salah, Son, Saka, Bowen, Neto
    Haaland, Alvarez (Archer)

    Much appreciated!

Morning all. 1 FT & 0.3m ITB. Thinking Estu > Cash & Bell > Guehi will be for -4.

    Sanchez
    Botman - Etsu - Udogie
    Salah - Maddison - Rashford - Saka
    Alvarez - Haaland - Archer

    (Turner) - Gordon - Beyer - Bell

Hi folks, I’m planning WC for gw9 over the IB. I’ve not taken a hit to date but not adverse to it for my defence this week. Any suggestions?

    Onana,
    Trippier, Walker, White
    Son, Rashford, Maddison, Mitoma
    Haaland, Hojlund, Alvarez

Turner, Sarr, Kabore, Estupinan 0ft .2 itb

With my defence as it is if I were to take a hit it would be there. It’s just this gameweek until WC so no, I’m not confident in Rashford, but home game v Brentford is not the week to take a hit to move out.

fair play but if your defence are all available that's fine to roll.

I think he's okay, but just having the bench cover in case someone misses out.

it's not just injury, it's illness too at this time of year.

    Martinez
    Gabriel Cash Udogie
    Salah Son Diaby Sterling Mbeumo
    Haaland Alvarez

    Turner. Estu. Gusto Simms

    £0.7m itb.

    1 FT.

If Diaby looks okay is the sensible play to do Estu to Andersen, bench Gabriel and save some cash?

That affords Sterling and Mbeumo to Saka and Gordon next week for a hit.

Or something else? 3 flags on my bench and wildcard intact.

    Areola (Flekken)
    Schar Udogie Joachim
    Salah Son JWP Saka* Diaby*
    Halaand Alvarez

    Archer Kabore Botman

    Options:
    1. No hit
    2. Botman > Cash (exact money) for -4

Potentially yes, he's been very good. But I've seen people using the last 2 games as deciding factors and it seems unfair given Udogie was faced with Saka one week followed by Salah. Porro inversely was faced with Jesus (not a left winger) and Diaz (obviously very good but when Liverpool still had 11 Jones actually seemed to be marginally higher than him). Luton are also conceding a fair few chances on their right side

Hey folks, think this is worth a wildcard?

Have a few players I want to get in and issues sorted e.g. Trippier feels a must, Spurs def, Maddison, possibly Bowen, Liverpool 2nd Attacker, Watkins,

    Walker - Cash - Kabore
    Son-Salah-Saka-Diaby-Mbuemo
    Alvarez-Haaland

    Turner - Archer - Botman - Gusto

Ahh thought Saka would still manage to play. Is the Arsenal presser today?

Try put a WC together with all those you want and then decide. (It’s very difficult to have that lot).

      save your wildcard.

if Saka is out you could temporarily switch to Maddison.

possibly at Luton if Saka is ruled out

it's more tempting to free up bigger chunks of cash and there's not much value to lose going back to Saka soon.
