    Interesting stats.

"Five teams are on more goals (17), six have had more big chances (23, see below) and there are four expected goals (xG) tallies better than their 15.25."

I wonder if opposing teams have worked out that if stop the supply lines to Haaland, you stop Man City from scoring?

"It would be brave for FPL managers to go against such eye-wateringly high effective ownership (EO) numbers each Gameweek."

I don't understand why this always gets framed as a negative. If you are going without H, then you are doing it because you believe it gives you an advantage (in terms of redistribution of funds and a stronger squad overall). In which case, the fact that almost everyone else has him works to your advantage, not your disadvantage.

Not owning an 89% owned player is not really any different to owning an 11% one.

      I mean, it is brave.

He scored over 36 goals & 9 assist last season. That's over 1 return per game.

Sure he isn't hitting these numbers so far this season, but we're talking about a proven player with an amazing track record, playing for the best team in the league for the last few seasons.

It's brave in the sense that you are vetting against the possibility of those numbers. Not many other you bring in are going to have that level of consistency & output.

Everything you have said about it being an opportunity is true but my goodness, yes it is also brave to go without.

I'd use the WC when you do more than 3 changes to the 1st team. For TC i'd usually always save it for a DGW, much more potential.

I still have bench boost and my FH.

SGW's TC's can outscore DGW TC's. WC's are usually a 'follow the crowd" chip.

I used my WC in GW2 for triple CHE which was a fail but at least my TV has not gone for a pile of sh*te.

United held 3 to Galatasary the other day and got knocked for 6 by City last year
      Then it's Bournemouth at home.

I can get Haaland back right now with keeping Trippier, Salah, Saka, Son, Bowen and Alvarez. Have enough value but then my bench is just meh and want to have some fun without staring at Baldock and Bell both flagged on my bench, bound to lose value and would have not been able to do nothing much with them.

The first thing I thought about was that 18/19 season, when he started out injured, so he only subbed on for the first two games but still got an assist in both. Then he scored in the following two putting his four first gameweek points very close to the Fibonacci sequence: 5, 5, 8, 11

Someone made that comment on here or in another forum and said "If the sequence is right, then he's probably gonna get 21p the next gameweek". And he did, with 3 goals. Good memories!

I loved Hazard, he was such a tricky one to get right in FPL.

The slaloming brace v West Ham has already been mentioned, but that’s up there.

I adopted a policy to never sell him back in 2014/15 which helped me get a top 10k finish.

I also remember owning him when he first joined in the 2012/13 season and he got x3 assists on debut I believe.

Such a fantastic player to watch in his pomp.

Only reason I can see for selling Haaland is if your T.V. is extremely low and you need the cash to get the big hiters in. Even those with a modest rise in T.V. should be able to afford Haland, Salah and Son without breaking into a sweat.

It doesn't seem that long ago that "perma-cap" was being bandied around. And now an article on whether selling him could pay off.

    Plus ca change.

Perma cap salah should be the discussion

Haaland still has a great ceiling and when he does return because of his EO is a massive landslide against any manager betting against that return. I’ve capped another player 3 times and won on two occasions. But not owning is whole different ball game!

People who talk about season keepers and perma Captains are basically always the thick ones. More or less.

Of course yes the only season keepers are bargain basement types that provide fairly regular returns .For the rest timing is key

Disagree. There are players who could score no matter the fixture. Think Salah, Saka. Those are season keepers. Haaland as well but I think his standards are so high that people scoff at having JUST 1 return.

Salah Saka Haaland all the way. Everyone else is rotation.

I didn't start with Salah, no regrets, and since Saka was injury risk I sold him on WC to Son. Some are selling Haaland now and at least those who plan to WC gw 19 can sell him for his blank. There may be future blanks to sell him also. Naturally everyone stubborn enough can keep any player for every week 38/38, but that doesn't make them good fpl players.

Looking at routes to Salah in 10, without wildcarding.
What's the best downgrade to help me get there?
    A) Trippier to Porro
    B) Trippier to VVD
    C) Son to Maddison
    D) Son to Saka
    E) JWP to Neto
    F) Alvarez to Solanke
