I’m by no means an expert but this season there seems to be a lot more “ebb and flow” i.e. there are no solid defences lasting an entire season, instead there are hot streaks. The reason for this might be more games leading to more injuries leading to more disruption e.g. Pau Torres and Botman in NUFC. But what do I know.

People keep saying their defence is good, but they have 4 CS all season. 2 in the last 14.

But people keep recommending Pau or Konsa... or the newest buzz word: Moreno

He is a forward in FPL.

Forwards need to score goals to get a high BPS score. (24 for a goal and 9 for an assist). 1 G > 2 assists 😉

When Mbeumo is fit and we have Kudus, Palmer, Hwang, Olise all back and in form does it make a case to own less premium midfielders? Had Son all season but no Salah. Maybe Salah + Son/Bowen and three from that list is the way to go. I do find more enjoyment when the cheaper, lesser owned players do well.

Sits too deep for my liking even though he is on pens.

Olise/Eze, Mbeumo, Palmer, Hwang all priced nicely and placed nicely on the pitch and on pens too.

Yeah all great assets and would happily own all of them. I guess you play the fixtures and own these guys at different stages in the season but definitely scope for a strong midfield on a budget.

Definitely. I think the price is really a distraction this season. Players like Palmer, Mbuemo and Hwang would have a much higher ownership if they were priced 2-3m more.

There’s just so many good cheap players. You could have a team full of them, but your only problem then is capping and the spare fifteen mil in the bank.

Bowen, Palmer, Neto, Hwang, Gross, Foden, Gordon, Mbeumo, Bailey, Olise and the list goes on, in all positions.

When it goes wrong I would have had a tremendous amount of fun in this season regardless.

I'm really making some great decisions this year.

Man U should call me up next! Pretty good with people, able of making my own decisions and I used to captain the third team in my hometown. We had beer with gas (not that english Ale without it) in the break!

On the downside my facial hair is still pretty sporadic which makes me look younger than I actually am. Can see that being a disadvantage working with fellas like Anthony & Bruno, but maybe my fellow countrymen Eriksen and Højlund will put in a good word!

Probably sell both but I also have Hwang. I might keep Hwang for now and use bench defenders to cover him, then remove him when I don’t need a hit. I spose I could do that with Salah instead and just keep him benched, but don’t like the idea much.

They won't drop a lot, so it's a decision between retaining value & "saving" a transfer vs having potential points available.

Similar but don't have Son. Probaly will sell Salah, keep Hwang. More scope with more cash and might even help avoid hits.

i'll probably just sell Son, there is enough in my squad to cover one of them but not both, also Salah would be more of a pain to get back in given his price

Ah I just had an idea. We could bench Salah and then get in Pedro for our bench striker. Then just use Pedro and a combo of our other two defender subs to cover Salah whilst he is away. So switch to 3 up front.

Probably do Son > Bowen, bench Mo & cover him with one of Gordon, Senesi & Taylor.

According to LiveFPL 27.5% of the overall captained Haaland this week.
Dead teams more or less around this number at the halfway point?

    Wow I’m an idiot.

Two different people here told me Jesus got his 5th yellow last week. I remember I looked for the suspensions right rope thing but couldn’t see it so just moved him out for Solanke lol.

Now I look and he only has 4, wtf.

Dumb mistake by me when it would have taken me 1 minute to check on the fpl site. Hopefully I don’t get screwed by that move :l

The suspension tightrope moves to 10YC for arsenal having already played 19 league games correct?

Heard the only one on 4yc tightrope atm is Senesi as Bournemouth have yet to complete their 19th game so if picks up a yellow would be banned for 21 (source planet fpl podcast)

Hopefully you'll be sound with Solanke. In good form and Bournemouth's attack biggest fish. Jesus has a few more contenders for attacking points share for the Gunners. You didn't buy Chris Wood anyway. Boredom isn't a great FPL motivator 😉

Which two to replace Salah & Son?

    -Olise
-Foden (minutes risk with KDB coming back?)
    -Bernardo
    -Bowen
    -Groß
    -Neto
    -Jota
    -Garnacho
    -Ødegaard
    -Douglas Luiz

I'm leaning towards Jota & Bowen for now

Yea it’s tough. I was just thinking about it. Bowen and Jota for me too I think.

Foden very close, Olise my last pick out of the four.

Bowen and Gross atm, Jota maybe later. Pool have a lot of games and with a cup semi plus Arsenal in the FA Cup Jota may not get the league games

I really think if Olise was playing in a top team he would be a world class player, that left foot of his reminds me of Gareth Bale’s left foot, think he will start to emerge this season, so he would be my first pick and Foden/Bowen

    Areola
    TAA, Gabriel, Colwill
    Saka, Son, Bowen, Gordon
    Watkins, Solanke, Alvarez

    (Turner, Salah, Konsa, Lascelles*)

    A) Son + Watkins > Sarbia + Haaland
    B) Son + Watkins + Gordon > Garnacho + Palmer + Haaland (-4)

TAA is calling to me. Saka crosses my mind. Maybe he will get a decent return, but he never hauls really, so I don’t consider him cap material.

Lost 4 points today out of pure ignorance. Didn't check the team news or pressers about Pau Torres where the manager clearly said he wouldn't start. Easy mistake to make at Christmas but just shows you need to keep your eye on the ball.
