Having owned Salah and Son early on means I’ll now need to pay an extra 0.8 to get them back. Not nice!

Were they red flagged last time those cups were on? That'll lessen the drop if so.

It's showing them red flagged now. That means it'll take more transfers for them to drop. They mightn't drop that much, but we'll see.

If Haaland is anything to go by, it won’t be by very much!

Not a direct comparison. Salah & Son proportionately gained significantly more owners than Haaland after GW1 hence their propensity for larger price drops is far greater

The group games will finish before GW22 starts. Very slim chance of neither of them getting out of their group but upsets happen now and then.

Man Utd similar to Chelsea. Put too many attackers in the team, which means the attack / defence balance is off. Man Utd are better because their attackers have a stronger finishing rate (Chelsea e.g., Sterling, Jackson, Mudryk are particularly poor at this). But Man Utd's midfield lacks mobility, speed and agility relative to other teams.

Yea, there was no flag till today’s refresh and now he is red. Sounds like it’s not based on any new info and just the game sorting the flags out. Just weird doing it part way through the game week.

            Trent Porro Gabriel (Senesi Taylor)
            Son Palmer Sterling Gordon (Salah)
            Alvarez Solanke Watkins.

Son > Bowen now will leave me 6.3ITB, so enough for Watkins > Haaland, or Alvarez & Sterling > Haaland & 6.1.

Had him benched on an early bus team - was still red flagged. Luckily I caught up, sorting this week's transfer, and put him back in 😛

I knew it was dangerous to bench him but was the weakest link on paper out my front 7

Finding more than 6 players who would have been above him in the pecking order is hard.

Excluding cameos he now has 7.3 points per start, on par with Salah/Haaland

Before the haul he was just behind those leaders at 6.2 ppm

You can’t exclude the cameos tho, as could’ve easily been another this Gw

How did Crystal Palace look today?

Debating Andersen/Trippier (both currently benched for Udogie) out for Estupinan.

Yeah, we looked great going forward today but defensively still suspect even with Henderson pulling of a few great saves, so tough to recommend our back line tbh

I'm leaning towards keeping Trippier benched, for better fixtures, and transfering out Andersen. Was hoping for more today. Seems like Palace can't be reliable at home, against the lesser teams, even.

Since Haaland and KDB are still iffy, I can afford to keep Trips, for now

Why are ‘the powers that be’ at FPL Towers red-flagging Salah and Son before the end of the gameweek? Seems counterintuitive to me. Implies they’ve already played their final PL games before going off to their respective tournaments.

What do you mean freeze the prices? People will sell and prices will drop.

I’ve played this game for over 10 years and I still only have a very slight hunch of how flagging and price protection are related.

Once the current GW is underway, nothing can be managed. Other than the next GW (21). He won't be here for that, therefore flagged. Totally reasonable.

I think to alert the general FPL player base that they are unavailable next week so people don’t transfer them in

Don't think so. Someone said he took a knock and was limping towards the end but seemed OK at final whistle. Always a worry with his injury record..

I would lose .4M on each of Salah and Son if I move them out for AFCON, both are players I would want back. Tempted to use the 7.1M I have ITB earmarked for the return of Haaland to bump up a cheap defender and midfielder instead. I could have the luxury of TAA with that money, and Palmer.

With the amount of high performing mids around losing value isn’t an issue.
