On top of their absences, Jarrod Bowen also picked up an ankle problem at Ashton Gate at the weekend that means he will miss at least four weeks of football.
    4 weeks?

Hope it's mistake and not 4 weeks. Maybe they got confused Bowen for Paqman?

That tracks with what I’ve read today:

‘Paquetá is not expected to play again this month and it is unclear when Bowen…will be back’ — Guardian

‘[Bowen] is expected to be out for at least one month’ — The Athletic

Could be a mistake because it definitely didn't happen at Ashton Gate, so that's one mistake

This is a rare opportunity where you don’t have to even consider fear of EO for the Captaincy & can comfortably pick the best player without any influence.

The highest EO threats will be Saka, Palmer & Watkins who all look like picks worth taking on for one reason or another.

Morning all, needed to move early on Estupinan to avoid being priced out of Haaland next week only for him to not go up in price. Oh well.

It's bizarre that the clear top ranked PPG defender and forward and seven out of the top ranked eight midfielders are flagged just now. I think I'll just go with seven on the park because I really don't want anyone else that I haven't got already 😯

Oh dear, I missed the Trent news.

I'm now looking at 4 players unavailable - Son, Trent, Pau and Bowen.

Tempted to move Sonny on now. KDB is tempting me. I know he's unlikely to start the next game, but he'll get some minutes, surely, and that's better than none!

    1. _Freddo
      • Fantasy Football Scout Member

IMO KDB will either start and get 60 or be a sub & get around 30, either way you have to fancy him to start the next time they play (in 2 weeks) against Burnley and with Salah & Son out, most will go there if he gets any sort of return this week.

If you're OK with players playing reduced minutes, then look no further than Jota. Unattractive only because of inconsistent playing time.

Pool are missing salah and taa though, how effective will they be in attack? i am also very tempted by kdb.

I had Jota in place but given the choice, I’d rather have KDB if both picks are risky, even if it means benching him for a week and starting Garnacho (on a WC)

Want to build a path to have KDB, Haaland & Salah for 25 incase the DGW drops, Jota would be a transfer out if Salah returns.

    Dubravka Cash Taylor Salah*

I sold Trent for Estupinan last night with my ft. Slightly regret it today as I perhaps should have done Lascelles instead for Estupinan and just benched Trent. It makes Haaland and then later Salah back in easier, though, which was part of my thinking.

I'm now considering a 4pt hit to get Foden/KDB for either Son or Bowen, who are only just bought 🙁

Plan to bring Haaland in for Alvarez next week but need to decide who to replace between Son & Salah?

I'm a great believer in multiple hits. A -4 is really putting all your eggs in one basket but a -12 widens your portfolio and gives you a much better chance of getting a haul and recuperating your outlay.

Do you have defensive back up? If you do, then I don't tend to think defenders are worth hits. Use FT on taking out Salah and Son, and consider a hit to swap out Bowen depending on your 8th attacker.

Who would you sell for a hit to bring in Estu and field 3 defenders this week? TAA*, Taylor*, Lascelles (no longer a starter).

I've just been treating Areola as backup rather than as a genuine rotation option. It looks obvious to start him this week but I have a bad feeling about it tbh. Have Leno not Martinez as my main keeper but I think both have haul potential this week

...and brought in Foden, Richarlison & Estupiñán for -4 hit. Price swing is £0.6m and counting this week - figured it was worth the risk.

Cheers. Good transfers. Might bring in the same three tbh.

Son and Salah, don't think anything else worth a hit in this instance

Those with Watkins Solanke Alvarez, who makes way for Haaland if he is fit for Burnley?

Best options for replacing Salah, Son, Bowen? And is it worth taking a -4 to replace all 3? Fairly set on getting Palmer in.

    A) Palmer
    B) Foden
    C) Jota
    D) Richarlison
    E) Gross

      Palmer and Luiz. No hit.

Palmer and Foden are my top two choices.
Not sure if it's worth a hit to get a 3rd in, depends who you have on you bench and you future plans I guess.

Thanks. Not sure I'll keep Bowen long term so might be worth taking the hit.

Have a bit of a concern with Palmer having played 90 yesterday. B and D are the safe options otherwise. C and E more punts that might work out well.

If you have a full team, it might be worth waiting on Bowen news until next gameweek instead of taking a hit.

I would be delighted to see Palmer benched but I highly doubt it

    TAA and Son to?

    A) Doughty and Foden
    B) Estupinan and Richarlison/Gross

Both moves give me enough ITB to get Haaland in for Archer next week.

    Areola
    Porro TAA* Gabriel Colwill
    Son* Palmer Saka Gordon
    Solanke Watkins

    Dubravka Archer Lascelles Salah*

AB I think, as long as you have reasonable cover for Trent. Wouldn't sell both Pool players with the likelihood of DGW25 for them & BGW26 for Spurs.
