It's a close one, but I'd say it's slightly in Garnacho favour. Maybe play Foden if you're more risk averse.

Foden has 6 goals in last six games. Garnacho only has only scored 5 all season. Yeah it's a tougher fixture but surely you back the man in form?

Foden something like 25% to score this GW according to bookies. Garnacho around 28%. Garnacho slightly ahead, but it's close really. Short term form plays some part, but is not super important in predicting future outcomes.

I'd argue in a sport where mental state can be as important as physical, short term form is a huge factor (until it drops off of course).

But for me, United are toothless and won't score a lot. Could go either way which is why I'd back the guy in short term form

              • 9 Years

But it's also factored into the booking odds. If you think they're wrong you, can make some money!

I'm not arguing with you, it's just my opinion/reasoning. I could well be wrong. Just like the bookmakers can be of course 😉

Hey all, any help greatly appreciated here as a bit stuck with 2FT 0.6m ITB.

thinking Haaland Darwin to Solanke Morris (and no FH29) but a bit scary…

    Areola (Dubravka)
    Saliba Gabriel Doughty (Porro Branthwaite)
    KDB Foden Saka Palmer (Garnacho)
    Haaland Watkins Darwin

if no FH and above moved, probably Son in next week (maybe Maddison for a hit too?).

BUT… selling Haaland (and even in-form Darwin)… is risky

    1. Cluub V
      • 10 Years
      2 years, 1 month ago

I would do Solanke in for Darwin, but wouldn't get rid of Haaland. Bringing in Morris seems very shortsighted.

For your other FT, maybe Branthwaite to Zaba or KDB to Bowen.

    Areola (Dubravka)
Gabriel, Saliba, C. Richards (Van Hecke, Trippier)
    Bowen, Palmer, Odegaard, Foden
    Haaland, Solanke(C), Watkins

Thoughts on taking a -4 to bring in Zabarnyi for Trippier? I'm thinking of replacing either Foden or Haaland with him in my starting 11.

Currently leading my ML by 11 and my rival is likely going to take a -4 at least to bring in Solanke and Neto.

To each their own but ngl I’d think twice about (1) taking a hit for a defender, even on DGW and (2) benching Foden or Haaland (even against Liverpool) for said Bournemouth defender

Cheers. It's easy to convince yourself of a move by imagining a particular outcome e.g. a Bou clean sheet and another 2pts for a game played vs. a Foden/Haaland 2 pointer, but who knows. Probably a shortsighted move.

So I've done Haaland, Darwin and Neto to Solanke, Morris and Bowen for -8.
    First hit of the season.
Gives me 3 doublers for this week but more importantly 6 players for next week plus 1 ft likely Solanke to Toney (no FH left). Needed that in disastrous GW16 with injuries galore.
Porro is back in the frame but don't wish to play him against Watkins.
Pretty happy with my selections. Leading by 30pts in two mini leagues so allowed myself a bit of fun.

    Areola
    Walker / Doughty / Gabriel
    Son / Saka / Foden / Bowen
    Solanke (c) / Morris / Watkins

What Chip Strategy would you suggest ?

    A. FH 29 WC30 BB37

    B. FH 34 WC 35 BB 37

I was looking at FPL team and I would need a -4 to field 4 dgw players in GW34 - don't really want those players before and I would need a -8 to field 9 players if I save the FH in 29.

I think depending on the title race and top 4 race we would want to play a fair few SGW players in 34 and the FH then seems like a bit of a waste but im not sure

What are you guys doing with the chips ?

I don't think Liverpool's defence is too bad really. Bradley is a defensive upgrade on Trent and if Konaté is fit, it's pretty much their best defensive back 4. Alisson will be a miss though but Kellagher has stepped up so far.

It's one of those moves that could really pay off but it could also backfire badly seen as so many own Haaland. Do you have Foden? He has been city's best player lately so he could cover Haaland maybe.

    Dubravka (Raya)
    Porro Gusto Gabriel (Reguilon, Walker)
Son Saka Foden Bowen (D. Luiz)
    Haaland Watkins Solanke

    A) -8 for Morris, Doughty, Kaminski (GW28), -4 for Toney, Maddison (Field 11 in 29) + get Salah in 30 + WC31, FH34
    B) Get Zabarnyi, FH29 + get Salah & Darwin in 31 (SHU) + WC35

I will have all the major players for 29 without FH, but I don't like the -12 and GW34 doesn't look that good for FH.

Is anyone considering writing off GW28 and saving chips for later? I can only get to 4 with FT, 5 with a hit! Sounds like FH territory but it’s such a meh GW

Are you talking about GW 29?

Norcal, yes sorry I meant GW29. Sorry, long week!

Going with only 5 would be writing it off in my book. Without knowing your place in your MLs & such it’s difficult to say anything definitive, but it looks like FH territory to me

Yeah I think it is. I’d recovered well to P3 in my ML and P2 in another. Obviously a high upside were I to keep my FH for GW34 or GW37 but it would mean losing ground in GW29. I guess it’s a trade off. Other than Spurs though, not much looks that appealing

There will be points to be had from Villa/WHU but I hear ya, not much meat on that GW29 bone
