What are the benefits of WC35 vs waiting another week to WC36 ? My team looks ok for GW35 so cannot see any reason to WC now.

You've pretty much worked it out yourself. If your team doesn't need to WC then save it

Just seems like everyone is wildcarding this week so wondered if I was missing something rather than waiting an extra week.

Likely due to DE34 and WC35.

Sounds like you were on FH34 if you feel your team is well setup for 35

The vast majority of those would have dead ended into GW34 like I did so now have a lack of Spurs, Newcastle, Manchester United and Chelsea players from which virtual all my starting 11 will come in GW35.

For you, makes sense to hold potentially then. WC35 is attractive for many because of some fixture swings and getting players that are doing well they've held off of due to the DGW.

      E.g. Newcastle, Bruno, Spurs (lol).

It's probably not world-ending to hold the WC 1GW.

I considered it too but not sure my GW35 non-WC squad has much of an edge to be worth holding off (plus price changes).

... but have been in the situation before where at least 2 of my bench got injured a week before BB plans. It isn't fun!

Cheers - makes sense, BB37 hence would rather hold off another week if I can especially as holding 2 FT.

Price changes I get but money doesn’t seem tight to get a good BB37 team.

      The benefits are obviously situational.

You may wish to WC35 if you want/need to attack the Doubles for both Chelsea & Spurs who also double in GW37.

If you're already happy and set without the need to WC, then having another weeks insight on form and one less week worrying about injuries, then WC36.

It's team dependent. A lot who didn't FH34 are WC35 for obvious reasons. Being able to WC into the Chelsea Vs Spurs but then have 2FT to B able to reduce the volume of Spurs down (given tough GW37 double) may also be a factor

However if you did FH you might be in a decent place, so there is an argument to hold it if you think your pre-WC team beats your post-WC team in 35.

I am in the same boat. I have 2FT so will bring in a couple of Spurs players for next DGW but plan on waiting one more week to WC (pending an injury disaster between now and the end of the current DGW) so I can BB all 15 DGW37

I had just Palmer from Chelsea, no Spurs and just Haaland from City, also with the legacy of the likes of Doughty and Robinson sitting on my bench ... WC needed for me in 35.

Chelsea and Spurs double in 35 and 37 so I may as well get players from both those teams now and have 2 free transfers in 37 if I have any injuries by then to deal with.

Good afternoon everyone. I have one FT and have 3 Chelsea and Son in my team.

    A) Get any Spurs defender.
    B) Get any Newcastle defender
    C) Sell Salah before WHU for Bruno or Gordon
    D) Take a -4 and do two of the above

    A Foden (nfo)
    B Bruno (BUR)
    C Gordon (SHU)
    D Johnson (ARS che)

D is a one week punt and will become one of A/B/C for DGW37

I'm on a WC would you bring him in or perhaps go for Onana?

    Current Draft is:

    Edersen / Vicario
    Schar / Gusto / Dalot / Dunk
    Gordon / Son / Maddison / Foden / Palmer
    Jackson / Haaland / Isak

This might be the excuse Poch needs to rest Palmer. Pretty sure after the FAC, Poch was suggesting he has played a lot of mins recently.

Pochettino on whether Palmer's illness rules him out of Arsenal: "We will see tomorrow. We need to assess tomorrow morning. Today, no. I don't believe he can be involved but we will assess him tomorrow morning. Even if he is good tomorrow, he may not be able to play."

    Raya / Petrovic
Udogie / Burn / Gusto / Van Hecke / Bradley

Folks looking for a Spurs pick outside of Son, I think Brennan Johnson over Maddison is worth considering.

    - Johnson is ranked 5th best midfielder for np xGI/ 90 at 0.88 in the last 6 GWs (before GW34)
    - Son is 19th at 0.58 and Maddison isn't in the top 30
    - first choice RW ahead of Kulu
    - looks better physically and mentally than Maddison at the moment imo

            Fair enough.

With those fixtures Spurs are pretty likely to score from counter attacks. Therefore fast Brennan J over James M is something to consider imo. However, I am not sold on either atm.

                Agreed.

Been against Maddison for a while. Way off form, early sub and has lost some set pieces to Porro.

I think there is an argument to stick with Spurs attackers and ignore GK/DEF. Defence is bottom half for season data and last 6 matches.

I'm still considering 3 Spurs player though.
        - Son (locked)
        - Johnson
        - Porro (locked if fit)
        - Emerson/Davies (LB)
        - Vicario

Yeah there are some slight concerns but difficult not have an elite FPL asset with 2 DGWs. Playing against tougher opposition with higher defence line and counter attacking may benefit Son/Spurs

Issue with Johnson is who do you drop to get him ? Palmer Bruno Gordon foden/kbd seem lock in most teams and not sure I would lose any for Johnson. Spurs are so unpredictable though, if it wasn't for the fact they have Burnley and Sheffield in the last 2 games of the season I am not sure I would pick any of their players. Plus comments from pool aiming to score a lot of goals make me second think about dropping their assets.

Suggestion is for folks that have Son and Maddison in their current draft.

You could argue Spurs could do well against tougher opposition with direct and counter attacking football.

    Salah Saka Palmer Eze MacA
    Isak Darwin Solanke

MacA to Son leaves me 6.8itb

Other potential moves, all for a hit
Eze to Gordon (to protect rank vs WC teams)

    Solanke to Haaland (if fit)

In their first season in the league...

      Drogba
      05/06
      10 goals
      26 games (1631 minutes)

      Jackson:
      24/25
      10 goals
      28 games (2180 minutes)

We finished 1st in Drogba's season, and obviously we have not been as good as that this season.

Drogba is obviously better - but Jackson has shown a lot of good things this season. Lots of misses but getting in really good positions - and putting away more than recent forwards at least.

      Happy to keep him around.

Jackson has improved a lot throughout the season. He leads the line well imo. Obviously his poor finishing and lack of confidence in front of goal is the main issue. Nowhere near as bad as he's been made out to be (mainly by fans of other clubs). 22 years old and only in his second full season as a pro. Probably better suited to playing on the left, but we don't have any other CF. Nkunku being injured all season has thrown him into the fire.

Palmer still my nod for the armband next GW, but him missing this week actually solves some benching headaches (as in, my bench are doing better than my XI). Every single DGW, always the same

RAN comes on if Palmer is out. Nailed on for another point at least

All chips now torched, incl WC active for GW35. Current 15 below.

    Questions:
    A) Given I haven’t got BB to use in GW37- should I downgrade some I’ll have to bench and try and keep someone like Salah or Saka? (Currently zero Liverpool, and only Gabriel from Arsenal).
    B) What from the below looks the most ugly / not something you’d do if WCing. N Jackson is a very low conviction pick for instance!

    GW35 (WC)
    Onana (Pickford)
    Gusto Porro Schar (Ruben Gabriel)
    Palmer Son Fernandes Gordon (Foden)
    Haaland Isak Jackson

I would add someone like Pedro instead of Jackson, he was so embarrassingly poor in the cup semi final.
One more yellow card would match the same amount of goals he has scored.

My rival BB ed this gw with Henderson palmer gusto branthwaite on the bench. Also he went early for cunha(-8) and then again took a hit for mateta(-12) after the cunha injury. Bad luck.

Hopefully not a rival anymore....what an amateur.

Now that Udogie is out, who is the most likely fourth defender for Spurs after Romero, Van de Ven and Porro (if fit)? Davies, Emerson or Dragu? I need a Spurs def costing max 4.3 for my WC team and BB 37, so he would have to play...

Surely Royal fills in for Udogie im guessing?

But can he play on the left? I thought he's strictly a right back.

Are they really worth it? I can see Trent or Gabriel outscoring all of them. But if you really don't have the money, then it's a different story. Porro or no-one for me.

At the moment I only have 4.3 left in my WC draft, so it's slim pickings... And yes I know Spurs aren't good defensively. I'll have to find somebody though and I already have Van Hecke from the bargain bin.

And I already have Gusto in my draft. I guess I could just keep Branthwaite from my current team and forget Spurs defense all together.

Anyone thinking Barnes instead of Gordon on WC?

    Or a double up?

Isak, Gordon and one of Schar or Trippier is optimal I think.

      Barnes' minutes are unpredictable.
