At the end of the day it’s the same defence as last season apart from Branthwaite looking a doubt for gw1. Is that really enough for Mykolenko to go from best 4.5 in the game to unpickable?

He probably wasn’t ever actually the best 4.5 in the game. Preseason often creates some odd bandwagons.

I never understood why Mykolenko was in every RMT with 0.09 xGI per 90 last season. Wouldn’t surprise me if Pickford had more than that.

Yeah, generally speaking Mykolenko is scared of crossing the halfway line. Whether that's due to instruction or ability I don't know. I'm starting with him but I don't expect attacking returns. Those back-to-back goals last season came from nowhere.

I'd like Everton defefence is there was a genuine 4.5 option. Mykolenko doesn't strike me as that

Johnson seems popular. I'm tempted by Kulu and Nkunku in that price bracket. Kudus might be fun, if West Ham are more attacking under their new manager. MGW should be a solid pick with good fixtures. Community Shield should give an indication of Man Utd and Garnacho.

Its going to be Nkunku easily

The guy was going to the World cup for France and starting until his injury.

With first 3 defenders, you don’t need Burn and in midfield I think you can do better than HO and Kudus. Kudus fixtures are not great and HO will play 69 min or so…considering it’s no Salah team - midfield is not strong enough.

Going off pre season I don't really buy into Pool defence isn't what it was theory. Completely different, control and strangle under Slot. Than the heavy metal gung ho under Klopp. Listen to what the players are saying about the difference in style. They've bought into it already.

Because they weren't getting sufficient enough support from midfield is the point here. MacAllister in the single coverage wasn't enough. Not saying that they're anything like Arsenal levels but expect that to improve massively this season.

I think in FPL terms probably nobody. Anderson lofted in a freekick but the keeper just punched it to the side on the edge of the 6 yard box under no real pressure. Wood still took it well but goalie error.

Elanga got a beautiful solo goal second half after coming on as sub.

Any issues with this lot? Going purposely light on defense in the wake of last season's performance.

    Areola | Fab
    Porro | Andersen | Mykolenko | Konsa | Harwood-Bellis
    Salah | Palmer | Eze | Rodri | Smith-Rowe
    Haaland | Awonyi | Vardy

Yeah, I've re-worked things. Going to try to fit him into the team somehow.

Would you do Saka + Konsa + Wood -> MGW + Gvardiol + Havertz?
