Who doesn't want to captain Haaland GW2?

Risky, but there are some other great fixtures. Could be an option to fly up or down, dependent on risk appetite.

I think everyone is underestimating Ipswich and historically Man City don’t always start too great. Saying that, he is obviously a decent shout for GW2. Alternative captain for GW2 is Salah who has BRE at home.

Reckon Liverpool batter Ipswich GW1, so everyone piles on Haaland captain GW2 (with more than a fair few TCs thrown about), only for him to blank.

          This.

It requires gambles on 5.5m players. Sure one of them will come good in that price range, but guessing which one it will be is going to be the hard part.

in terms of using transfers, I'm keen on pivot between Salah (unlocks a powerful midfield) and Haaland (captaincy)

so the rest ideally needs to be set and forget really. Is that how others are perceiving it?

Don't get me wrong, there'll be bandwagons and quite even possibly early hits. But having a solid defence, Isak and a reliable 6m forward allows that shift between Salah and Haaland

Even if you start start with both, there's a likelihood to sell one pretty soon to access those 10m mids

I think if you can build a team to take you to 5 FTs and then WC with those FTs banked, you’d be in an amazing position, that’s my strategy anyway.

    2. CSKlopp
      • 6 Years

Agreed, I think its win-win with them both in as early fixtures are good and late returning power mids - Saka, Palmer, Fofen - will probs get limited game time - as you say, Salah/Haaland can be sold if needs. Meanwhile, further lower cost form players will become apparent to switch into your team without excessive cost.

    Watkins | Muniz | Isak

          Fair.

I'm assuming that a lot of the premium mids (Foden, Palmer etc..) will need some time to get running due to lack of pre-season.

Haaland & Salah are both rested and firing.

I want Villa & Arsenal from GW5-6 onwards so can see if I need to drop either of them after a few games and spread the cash.

I think my team without Haaland looks better than my team without Salah; for a positive attacking eight up front and its flexible 3-4-3 or 3-5-2 line-up possibilities.

The case for a Gameweek 1 team with both would be to wait and see where to spread the funds among the variables further down the line.

yea but there's no way Silva would've gone into the season using Pereira in the 2 in the pivot imo, just way too attacking.

Makes more sense ESR got the 10 vs Sevilla when on the pitch, because Silva sees him as the long term option there

Maybe they already have in Rodrigo Gomes? Plus Strand Larsen more indirectly?

Every time I read up on Wolves' preseason I keep rechecking their opening fixtures... got a feeling they'll start strong & I think he's a great option. Maybe they'll smash Chelsea but that's still a pretty tough run up to GW9

They are an excellent outfit under O,Neill. The type of side who won’t suffer losing Neto.

          or Kilman

I think a re-classified Chan seems really appealing, but won't get much love in on here due to the fixture obsession. Fixtures are obviously important, but I think they're too weighted. Good teams/well priced players are more key imo

Plenty of lolworthy activity at Chelsea ofc, but replacing Palmer would be beyond idiotic

Never RIP Palmer. Remember, it was Maresca who converted him to a winger in the City development squad.

Would be interesting to see if Forest got a penalty whilst Wood was on the pitch if it's definitely MGW or Wood.

Don't think we will gain much from the lineup with the current info we already have anyway. Pep confirmed the players still to start preseason will come back next week

Both interesting FPL options if one moves to Newcastle and takes the RW spot

Madueke was linked with us earlier in the summer when Chelsea tried to sign Olise. He'd be a good signing in my opinion.

Taking a punt on Solanke moving.
No Haaland, or arsenal attack but otherwise looking ok?

    Raya 4
    Trent Gvardiol Munoz Robinson 4
    Salah Nkunku Eze Jota CHO
    Watkins Isak Solanke

Not 100% on Jota, could be Gotdon I guess

Clubs are still discussing deal apparently. Newcastle have had bids of £40m and £50m rejected, if SkySports is to be believed. Palace want £65m. Might be drawn out, or fall through if they can't agree on a fee.
