Sounds like Spurs are trying to raise some money for the Solanke transfer.

Kulusevski going to Newcastle would be amazing from a fpl point of view, as he would become nailed and so would Brennan Johnson.

This has been the longest I haven’t changed my team. Time to put it back in here and see if anybody can give me some good feedback.

    Henderson/trafford
    Virgil/myolenko/andersen/barco/bellis
    Salah/gordon/eze/nkunku/esr
    Haaland/isak/wood

    Thanks everyone 🙂

defence for me would be gvardiol for vvd, faes for bellis then maybe robinson or quansah for andersen. If you are wildcarding you can stick with the defence you have but gvardiol will go up in price at some point

The only reason I had Virgil over gvardiol Was that the fixtures beautiful for Liverpool and bellis Has much better attacking up side than faes. But thanks for the feedback, something to think on 🙂

Out of interest why do you favour Faes over Bellis? Pretty much 50/50 I think and unlikely to be called upon anyway.

    My Haaland draft:

    Haaland, Watkins, Isak

Son played best when Kane was around, he's also club captain so I doubt he losing penalties. Son will love Solanke taking players away from marking him and free up space for him to run into

We're still in the market for another striker apparently (Osimhen is one possibility). It's madness. We have eight goalkeepers on our books. lol

      1. Andy_Social
        • 13 Years
        1 year, 6 months ago

Those 8 goalkeepers are part of a first team squad that will number FIFTY once Neto joins. The 'management' will want their shiny toys to get game time. It was that insistence on interfering that drove Poch away. This is not going to go well.

        1. RichardNixon

It makes no sense to me or anyone with an understanding of football. I read somewhere that we are planning to do this for another transfer window or two. But at some point we'll need to sell a tonne of players.

It's like the owners are trading the inflationary nature of the transfer market by buying super talented 18 years olds for 30m and then will aim to sell them for 50m in a couple of years. The ones who become like Palmer will stay with the squad, and most of the others will generate a profit.

But who knows, it lacks logic.

          1. Andy_Social
            • 13 Years
            1 year, 6 months ago

It doesn't lack logic; it is anti-football. Supporters want trophies, championships, winning matches. Clearlake wants profit and have devised a method to maximise profit without wasting time on that old-fashioned pursuit of success on the field. They can lend young players out, have them mark up their value and sell them for profit whilst never hitting the Premier League top 10.

            1. RichardNixon
              • 9 Years
              1 year, 6 months ago

Don't think that's totally true. We have been selling academy players to make this possible. Mount, Galagher, Hutchinson, Maatsen, Hall, Livramento, Loftus-Cheek, CHO are all pure profit. Presumably Chalobah and Broja are next to come. But we'll be running short of these types from here on unless we are willing to sell players like James.

There's no guarantees that we'll be able to shift our other signings for a profit. For instance, Madueke cost 35m, Mudryk 70m, Fofana 70m, Cucurella 50m etc. They are all young and retain some value but nobody would pay 70m for Mudryk or Fofana. So, some of our signings will be sold for profit but others will have to be moved for a significant loss.

I think we need Champions League football to make our business model sustainable, which is far from given considering the strength of the league and the chaotic squad building at the club.

Starting out with both Salah & Haaland makes good sense doesn't it, even if they are both overpriced? To use golfing parlance, you can't win a tournament on the first day but you can certainly lose it so why run the risk of going into September with a seven figure rank if you miss out on one of them going absolutely bananas against Ipswich?

I think no Haaland is potentially far more devastating than no Salah, but can understand people wanting both from the off.

I find I have a much weaker team with both in, but Liverpool attackers other than Salah are all a rotation risk, so I can see the conundrum here.
