Our 2024/25 Fantasy Premier League (FPL) team previews continue with Spurs.

The Lilywhites are one of only six sides to have competed in every campaign of the Premier League. 2024/25 is their second season under the management of Ange Postecoglou.

In these team guides, we’ll be looking at the best players from each club for the upcoming campaign. We’ll also take a stab at predicted line-ups for Gameweek 1, review pre-season and more.

The data and graphics in this article come from either our Premium Members Area or Statsbomb, with whom we are partnering in 2024/25.

Fantasy managers can get access to the wealth of Statsbomb numbers, as well as the usual Opta stats, exclusive articles, transfer planner, tools and app, with a 40% discounted Premium Membership today.

SPURS: REASONS TO BE CHEERFUL

Spurs finished the league in fifth last season. They were also fifth for goals scored with 70, despite losing Harry Kane the day the Premier League season started and not signing a direct replacement.

The side from north London also had decent, if not league-leading, underlying numbers. Spurs were sixth best for expected goals conceded (xGC) and seventh for expected goals (xG)

The free-flowing attacking football that ‘Ange ball’ brings is definitely a reason to be cheerful. Spurs’ underlying attacking stats look promising, especially with the added goal threat of new signing Dominic Solanke (£7.5m):

FPL 2024/25 team previews: Spurs – Best players, predicted line-up + more

Solanke scored 19 goals for Bournemouth in the Premier League last season. The forward netted these from the 414 chances that Bournemouth created, the ninth-highest tally in the league. Spurs on the other hand created 460 opportunities, the fourth best in the division, up from 386 in 2022/23.

Thanks for blocking 'reasons to be fearful' behind the paywall. I want to be optimistic about Spurs this year

To be fearful did not say a lot, they can't defend but have players coming back.

My perception of Jota (without any evidence to back it up) is that he's a great fantasy asset who steals a lot of Salah's thunder when he's actually fit and playing so he's right in my team until such time's as he inevitably gets crocked again. I'm also thinking of doubling up with Diaz. He was ranked 4th behind Salah, Palmer and Saka for xG in 23/24 and I'm hoping that the couple of goals he scored yesterday might be a sign that he's going to kick on this season.

Might be a nice double up, that.

A high xG is good but you've gotta be a clinical finisher for it to translate into consistent returns and unfortunately Diaz has never been a clinical finisher and I would expect him to continue to underperform his xG

Yeah, I can understand that but I'm taking a punt that a game against Ipswich followed by three home games in the next four against beatable opposition at might see him emerge as a player worth owning.

          • 11 Years

It’s certainly a punt and it could well pay off but if you’re doing it based on fixtures you need to remember that the players with a proven track record also have those fixtures.

Looking at my team it feels like a FH for GW1, I’m not sure that’s a good thing though.

    3 x City v Chelsea
    2 x Liverpool v Ipswich
    2 x Arsenal v Wolves
    2 x Spurs v Leicester
    2 x Newcastle v Southampton

Feels like a WC GW3/4 though or just have to trust good players from good teams (apart from Spurs)

That looks fine they all still have good fixtures in GW2 and can just transfer Spurs out in GW3 , Son to Palmer could be popular

I haven't had Haaland in any of my pre-season drafts, but understandably I'm now beginning to get cold sweats at the idea of leaving him out.

    Which option looks better?

    a) Salah + Solanke
    b) ESR + Halaand

Option a) also provides an extra 0.5M which would be used for Saliba to White.

After much thinking, I came up with this bunch. Could you rate it, suggest something different?

    Henderson (Fabianski)
Munoz / Robinson / Gvardiol (Nedeljkovic, Barco)
Salah / Rogers / Jota / ESR (Nknuku)
    Haaland / Solanke / Isak

0 ITB. Alternatively I can go Eze instead of Jota and have 0,5 ITB, or re invest it in defense to have alternating pair of 4,5 defenders.

First draft I’ve seen with Nedeljkovic. He looks like he’s going to be some player but I don’t see him getting many minutes and will be eased in. If Cash goes then that changes for sure, one for the watchlist.

      1. DIMITRIS
        • 7 Years

I'm actually a Red Star supporter and I watched him a lot last two years playing for us. He always was very attacking but really raw talent. Some technical refinement, improved decision-making & quality of delivery in the final 3rd and Kosta Nedeljković will be a force to be reckoned with (bare the bias).

Can't decide if BB in GW1 or not. Would be followed by a WC if I do.
However, if I don't, I like the look of this:

    Henderson
    TAA, Porro, Hall
    Son, Jota, Diaz, Murphy
    Haaland, Isak, Solanke

    Lumley, Bobb, Barco, Johnson

    Hate to bench Bobb though.

Same, I have an amazing BB1 team. Only problem is I don’t think I could get a good WC2 team apart from the one I could get now so what’s the point?

On paper you’d say load up on City in GW2 (to justify it) but Chelsea are so bad, you might as well load up in GW1

    Sels - Fabianski
    TAA - Mykolenko - Burn - Robinson - Barco
    Saka - Son - Jota - ESR - Winks
    Haaland - Isak - Wood

    Plan is

    GW 2 - Save FT
    GW 3 - Save FT
    GW 4 - Wood + Saka + Son ➡ Salah + Pedro + Eze
    GW 5 - Haaland ➡ Solanke
    GW 6 - WC

This plan has all good fixtures runs covered till GW 5 and then WC in GW 6 for the big fixture swing. Thoughts? 🙂

OK, I have this draft now. Need to sot out the below:

    A. Quansah or Robinson
    B. Bobb or ESR
    C. Nkunku or Eze

    Hendersen
    Gvardiol / Munoz / Quansah
    Saka / Son / Jota / Nkunku / Bobb
    Isak / Haaland

    Virginia | Johnson | Barco | Cannon

    Thanks

      Depends on strategy I think.

Quansah may lose out to Konate? Robinson is nailed.

Bobb plays for City. ESR will be nailed.

Short term Quansah and Bobb look like excellent picks though.

      C. Either or. I prefer Eze and easier to get to Nkunku if that choice is wrong.
