Our 2024/25 Fantasy Premier League (FPL) team previews continue with Spurs.

The Lilywhites are one of only six sides to have competed in every campaign of the Premier League. 2024/25 is their second season under the management of Ange Postecoglou.

In these team guides, we’ll be looking at the best players from each club for the upcoming campaign. We’ll also take a stab at predicted line-ups for Gameweek 1, review pre-season and more.

The data and graphics in this article come from either our Premium Members Area or Statsbomb, with whom we are partnering in 2024/25.

Fantasy managers can get access to the wealth of Statsbomb numbers, as well as the usual Opta stats, exclusive articles, transfer planner, tools and app, with a 40% discounted Premium Membership today.

SPURS: REASONS TO BE CHEERFUL

Spurs finished the league in fifth last season. They were also fifth for goals scored with 70, despite losing Harry Kane the day the Premier League season started and not signing a direct replacement.

The side from north London also had decent, if not league-leading, underlying numbers. Spurs were sixth best for expected goals conceded (xGC) and seventh for expected goals (xG)

The free-flowing attacking football that ‘Ange ball’ brings is definitely a reason to be cheerful. Spurs’ underlying attacking stats look promising, especially with the added goal threat of new signing Dominic Solanke (£7.5m):

FPL 2024/25 team previews: Spurs – Best players, predicted line-up + more

Solanke scored 19 goals for Bournemouth in the Premier League last season. The forward netted these from the 414 chances that Bournemouth created, the ninth-highest tally in the league. Spurs on the other hand created 460 opportunities, the fourth best in the division, up from 386 in 2022/23.

Pickford over Hendo isn't a massive upgrade if you ask me.

And it takes an injury or rotation and you have some decent cover with a 4.5.

Getting to roll more transfers looks to be pretty powerful this season.

        1. F4L
          • 11 Years

agreed rolling looks good, but if Barco or whatever other 4 is predicted to start they can cover on the off chance you need it and if FT has to go elsewhere that GW.

rate Pope above Pickford and expect Pope is outscore 4.5s. Even if you rate Hendo, that 0.5 can be used on the outfield and be put to good/better use.

      One of Raya/Pope/Pickford

On Raya as Raya and Hall saves a cool million

Areola/Pickford sounded like they were horrible to own last season. New season of course, but predictability and investing in a set and forget in a position that's traditionally neglected seems a solid way to go

Henderson looks the pick of the 4.5s but Guehi and Andersen news is not encouraging

no you're spot on. im not faffing about with the 4.5s this year, just want a steady return and happy to pay the extra for it. Added up by GK points last year and it came to 131 (including DGWs so more than 38 fixtures), and that's with FTs used on the spot, and even a hit or 2. Awful

just with Guehi im left thinking Pope could be 145-160. Raya tops out at 160 imo, so think would rather that 0.5 in the outfield 10.

Just been listening to Talk Sport with Danny Murphy amongst others and wonder why I would take anyone’s opinion on here more seriously..? I listen most days but obviously don’t take White and Jordan’s footballing IQ into consideration. White has no clue about football, Jordan probably has a little more but has still never been a footballer. I bloody love that station though!!! If you want to know what you need to know… switch Talksport on. I’m not advertising but just love it when they get intelligent ex footballers on. Unlike D Sturridge or J Pennant

How broad a market is this, then?

White and Jordan know plenty about football they just have to ham it up for Talksport clickbaiting purposes. They also have a lot worse pundits than Sturridge and Pennant. Cundy and O'Hara spring to mind. White is a dose to listen to usually. Who's the lad on with Durham and Murphy tonight?

    3. Ser Davos
      • 11 Years

sometimes it's a bit pantomine, but on other occasions can be easy-going and an okay listen

I tend to have a documentary/lecture on in the background since WFH/covid

    4. MJF
      2 years, 16 days ago

I couldn't disagree more. I only listen when there's an exclusive game on TalkSport. I find Matterface to be the Alan Partridge of football commentary but with less self awareness. Murphy seems to dumb down when around Matterface, compared to his performance on BBC, where he appears to engage his brain somewhat. Next, you have to constant gambling adverts even during play.

To me the station is woefully inferior to the Beeb!

if reports are true, Fulham are much closer to signing Diego Carlos, in which case Andersen would be a no go. think that bid was just a testing of the waters to see how Palace reacted with Carlos dealing somewhat stalling.

Ream was eased out for the second half of last season and tbh he was a great servant for the club but Bassey at LCB is a step up

1 of Diop/Cuenca are in line to start GW1 without any new player brought in. But Cuenca is LCB cover (left footed) and Diop ideally RCB cover. Just waiting on a signing to come in and be a starter at RCB. Its 95% certain 1 RCB comes in, Fulham are pushing hard to get a deal done.

saving transfers is not being discussed too much atm,i feel building a strong gw1 squad and saving transfers could potentially give you 5 f/t by gw6 which is probably a near equivalent to a w/c,obviously an 8 point hit in gw6 would give 7 transfers, deffo saving w/c so to that end....
