    A) Salah, Rogers, Joao Pedro

    B) Jota, Gordon, Havertz

In A, Rogers would be benched for ESR. In B, ESR would be benched

Goals Imminent: I remain unconvinced that it's not an exercise in gambler's fallacy.

I understand why you might want to understand why players are underperforming, but excluding the players who are actually scoring, we give too much credence to these underperfomers. Why not just list all the players who have a good xG and then mention the outliers and why they might be failing to hit the net?

Thought this since the first moment I ever saw his table on the Scoutcast, many years ago. I think the idea is that we "already know" about the players who scored recently, so it's not worth talking about, but it's not useful to exclude them (the opposite, in fact).

      1. _Make
        • 9 Years

I guess it's to do with ownership and finding a differential, but I must admit I do tend to find a lot of these differential conversations themselves pretty pointless.

Yes for some reason you might be desperate to ignore all the stats and fixtures and pick someone different for the sake of it - someone like Cornet or Schlupp, but realistically, nobody is going to do that unless they are going for a 'risk coming 10m overall for the chance of winning FPL' type strategy. A lot of content creators who say "if you wanted a differential you might do a lot worse than Harrison Reed", and have absolutely zero intention of getting Harrison Reed in their own teams. I guess it's a case of creating content to fill the dead space. As Dave Clifton once said: "dead air is a crime".

With 45 of them, it’s hard to tell which ones are going to play regularly. At least with Pep roulette for example you can expect the starters to deliver. While with Chelsea’s thoughtless spending the team is yet to gel.

Bergvall looks so much more exciting than Winks, and Postecoglu seems cheeky enough to reward such players no matter how inexperienced they are. Any Spurs fans with some more insight around here? Plays a different role in midfield, but I heard Bissouma’s suspended too.

yeah exactly, its a lower level of management than top domestic leagues

The only reason its a massive pull is if the manager is English and we dont have that many options. Ask Eddie Howe and i think he would come but maybe not til end of season.

Everton (H) is a good fixture.

Not currently in my team but the temptation is thathe faces 2 of the worst attacks in GW1-2, and seemed in decent form attack-wise preseason. After that I'm not sure if Spurs will keep enough CS to justify 5.5m imo

Same thinking us they are in Europe.

I think Dalot will get similar returns this season.

Could shift Porro to Dalot or 4.5 def after GW 2

For the entire 23/24 season I wished I had him sooner.

He had a purple patch due to Maddison injury but lost responsibilities when he returned

He's cheaper than Trent and now has big Dom to aim at.

Minor tweak? I wouldn't be starting Brereton at Newcastle (A) over ESR

SJP is a hell of an intimidating place to start the season; I think they're going to get a hiding. I expect Newcastle to improve a lot this season with no Europe, and am actually tipping them for 3rd. Maybe their defence is a tiny bit unsettled (or at least appears so from the outside) in these early stages, but in comparison to Man Utd who still have no DM to replace Casemiro, might start a debutant / crowbar Martinez in at LB, still rely on Jonny Evans... I fancy Fulham to get a couple of goals there

Casemiro had a strong game in the Community Shield.

De Ligt will start youd think.

Also have Muniz playing so not sure I want to start both players.

I do own Pope, but in truth I didn’t like any of the GK’s. With Kelly and Burn I think they concede.

            Who knows, it’s super tight!

Who'd ya think'll score more in GW1 only?

    A) ESR (mun)
    B) Rogers (whu)

Rogers seems like an opportunity for a GW1 BB, if that's what I end up doing, but perhaps Villa are going to be toothless and I should stick by my enduring faith in ESR. Is Rogers' mins under threat from Archer/Duran/Watkins/others in GW1?

      A.

Philogene is likely to replace Rogers in the starting XI

        He's a winger not a 9 or 10. (Villain)

Yes and you are going to play Mcginn in the ten, Rogers/Philogene left.
