Are Crystal Palace really that good?
Enough for 34.8% ownership of Eze?

He's 8.5 and I'd argue his open play G/A is not like Eze who makes runs in behind and is willing to take on defenders.

That front 3 was great late last year! They’ll struggle to replicate that, but it could mean Eze becomes ‘the’ talisman.

    A) Son, Havertz, CHO
    B) Saka, Solanke, Nkunku

I pretty to sure the majority will prefer B here, their ownership % are all 15-20 more than A.

But am I too crazy to go with the lower ownerships? It feels risky, but more exciting! Plus I can justify with Saka being behind on preseason, Solanke at a new club and Chelsea playing City first up.

Yeh I’m struggling with CHO. He could be a great enabler with a long run of good fixtures or a complete flop and I’ll struggle to then find the 1m to get to Nkunku or the like.

    Absolutely losing my head here, feedback welcome please;

I'd rather start with Foden than KDB. Both are predicted to be on the bench in GW1, while Foden tends to outscore KDB by getting more goals than assists

ESR + Hall (not nailed - nobody at Newcastle is atm except Schar) + 0.5 to Gvardiol + Winks/Sangare? Robinson + Winks + Johnson is a great nailed bench, imo. I only see one GW in which you'll bench Wood in the first 10 GWs, while Gvardiol is a clear upgrade on that rotating 4.5 defensive spot

Prefer Gvardiol's open play threat from LB, where Pep immediately returned him to once other CBs came back in preseason. I don't see a GW1 CS without Rodri, so Gabriel probably outscores him in GW1 alone. But I think Gvardiol could run away with the points once the full City XI is back by GW2. Ideally, both of the Gs could fit well into any FPL side

Mykolenko is the only nailed one of the three, so him. Too many moving parts at Newcastle for me to commit to any atm. I'd rather get Robinson though

      1. Bruno Commando

        Thanks mate!

I am currently on 1B but was told that both aren't nailed which made me second guess myself. Guess I will probably stick to Gvardiol then. Really like his output at the end of last season and hopefully that can continue!

Agree on the Newcastle points, hence leaning towards Mykolenko. My issue with Robinson is that I will max out Fulham players. Not sure if that is too much!

        1. Ze_Austin
          • 7 Years

          My pleasure 🙂

I'm not bothered about tripling up for a great fixture run: if each player is the best at his price in his position, I'll happily have him... The risk is selling each off if they crash, but that's where rolled FTs and early wildcards come in. I consider Robinson and ESR the best at their positions *at the moment*, while I'll probably take Wood over Muniz and Pickford over Leno

          1. Bruno Commando
            • 11 Years
            1 year, 6 months ago

Valid points about the best guy in their position at their price! Giving me more confidence maxing out Fulham. But conservative me will probably go with Wood over Muniz to avoid that!

    Finally happy with my most recent and hopefully last draft;

    Areola
    Gvardiol Porro Hall
    Salah(c) Eze Jota Rogers
    Haaland Isak Solanke

    Fab Barco Faes Winks

Any feedback or suggestions are much appreciated!!

    1. Ze_Austin
      • 7 Years
      1 year, 6 months ago

My main advice here would be: don't sell Areola if you start the season with him. Like Pickford last season, I think West Ham will gel under Lopetegui's pragmatic approach around when people give up on their CS prospects. While waiting for that to happen, Areola should rack up some save points from his proven ability as a shot-stopper anyway

Jota + Rogers + Hall + Barco + Faes (nailed but possibly negative points) can force an early wildcard out of the blue. I think you're aware of that risk to fit the big hitters in, but maybe Johnson (wingback with good fixtures from GW3) over Faes just to soften the likely blow a bit. My other suggestion would be Porro + Rogers to ESR + Munoz. Nailed and very attacking combo, reducing the starting risks in your side

Too early to say. New coach, new system, transfer window's still open. Konate and Gomez are still lurking

He could easily become a Slot favourite after impressing in preseason. Symbol of the new era, even. Yet that remains to be seen

I also think the Liverpool triple-up is better spent on lads who get attacking returns, as there are good nailed 4.5s out there with more attacking output in other clubs

best 4.0 DEF? Barco, THB, or someone else?

some of the considerations: Barco is said to have more upside, but is very young, might have competition for spot, and BHA have a tough opening schedule; Harwood-Bellis is secure starter, but SOU DF probably not very good, on the other hand the schedule is more balanced between easy and hard games

what are peoples opinion on this? or this there a better option at 4.0? I also have Davis (IPS) at 4.5 in another spot--this could be a fun pick, with a punt on a new team and a very attacking DF (18 assists in Championship last season), and not many people picking up on this player

    1. b91jh
      • 8 Years

Barco is the best one but I will be aware of the possible price drop once Estu gets back his place.

I've got the other Ipswich wing back, who doesn't have Davis's corners but is at 4.0 because he was priced before leaving West Ham: Johnson

Starting with Barco as my first sub while monitoring what happens with:

      1. Villa's RB - Villa might sell Cash and start the young 4.0 lad or get a senior RB in the window or play Konsa there again, but Nedeljković is highly rated and started their last friendly

      2. Wolves RCB - Mosquera looks locked in for this season, but those starting fixtures and their defensive performances last season scare me. I probably won't want him auto-subbed into my side in most of his first 8 games

I think the difference between the two mids is smaller than the difference between the two defenders

Gvardiol at LB is as attacking as Porro, with a higher chance of clean sheets

Eze under Glasner could match or outscore Gordon, especially if Olise is the only talent the squad loses in this window

The issue here is that both Gvardiol and Eze have a significantly smaller sample size of games in their current systems (LB with attacking licence, Glasner) than Porro and Gordon, hence the uncertainty

Very nice, I’m not convinced Spurs’ defence is that good but if Porro gets lots of attacking returns who cares lol

I mean it's a strong starting lineup and a non existent bench especially since Estupinan is back in training which could make Barco even more useless

        I'll revise slightly then.

        Nkunku -> Smith-Rowe
        Fraser -> Joao Pedro

And Smith Rowe sits out the opening fixture. How about now?

          Definitely a better bench

Its good. Always the toss ups.
Pray that Eze doesn’t sign with City on Monday.

Bruno to Havertz gives you Gvardiol over Porro, and a starter on your bench in Winks or Sangare

I know it's an Arsenal triple-up for that fixture run, but I don't mind it and I think these two tweaks can delay your wildcard or early transfers by some weeks

Saka can then be your route to Foden for some City attack later. I think Foden + Havertz + Gvardiol + 0.5 outscores Saka + Bruno + Porro, unless Man U attack starts the season much better than they look atm

Apart from the obvious… is this good to go?

    Raya
    Trent, Gvardiol, Quansah
    Palmer, Son, Saka, Jota, Nkunku
    Isak (C), Solanke

    4.0, Barco, Johnson, 4.5 FWD

Interesting pick on the strong keeper. Only comment I have is about the weak-ish bench. It's my concern on my own team as well.

Check it out above if you can, and let me know what you think.

I have debated doing Raya to Pope and getting a 4.5 def on my bench. The question then is which 4.5 to get. Maybe Hall?

Is Hall more nailed than Burn?

            Is he more nailed? No

Is he more fun? Yes lol

Andersen, Robinson or Mykolenko, imo. They're nailed, which is quite important for a bench player.

Yeah I can maybe agree on that. Think I’d go Anderson out of the three since Palace kept 10 clean sheets last year. I know Everton did too but I think brandthwaite is still out?

The question then is Pope or Pickford?

Pickford for me, for two reasons:

              1. He plays for a system built perfectly for FPL defenders. Dyche has history in this game, and he's said the defensive injuries are short-term.

              2. I have no interest in Everton attackers for now. Not really scared that I'd want more than one other Everton player early this season, outside Pickford + Virginia. I'll probably want the 4.5 Newcastle defender who emerges, due to attacking returns. I usually consider this factor unless I think their GK will score really highly

Very good point regarding the outfield players. Thanks for the detailed response my friend!
