Leicester v Spurs team news: Solanke starts, Vardy fit

Gameweek 1 of Fantasy Premier League (FPL) concludes this evening at the King Power Stadium.

Kick-off for Leicester City and Tottenham Hotspur is at 20:00 BST.

The Monday night game is a tale of two strikers: one making his Spurs debut, the other back from injury to bolster Leicester’s goal-shy frontline.

The Foxes didn’t score in any of their last three pre-season friendlies but they were without Jamie Vardy for all of them.

He returns to the squad this evening and is a surprise starter – but a surprise only if you take Steve Cooper’s team news at face value.

Summer recruits Bobby Decordova–Reid and Facundo Buonanotte make their competitive Leicester debuts.

And making his Spurs bow is £65m signing Dominic Solanke.

He leads the line for the Lilywhites but it is Dejan Kulusevski, who has looked good in pre-season, and not Brennan Johnson who makes way to accommodate him.

Spurs are pretty much at full strength, although Yves Bissouma is not considered for selection tonight after his off-the-field antics.

Richarlison is among the substitutes after recovering from injury.

Leicester’s backline contains £4.0m defenders Wout Faes and Jannik Vestergaard. Harry Winks, Fantasy Premier League’s most-owned £4.5m midfielder by some distance, faces his former club.

Very happy with my two Spurs assets. Wasn’t expecting Spurs to be this good. Starting like they did last season as challengers! Porro getting a goal from the CF position and Solanke had more chances in the opening 15 mins than any striker over 90 this weekend. Good to go!

Romero - World Cup winner
Van de ven has been great other than his Newcastle shocker
Udogie also pretty solid

If we can just defend a bit better than last year I think porro, udogie vdv will all be good assets at the price

  Also a Spurs supporter - Defence is good as long as the team can press. But we are likely to give up some bad goals from time to time (set pieces, hahaha). I owned Romero for a lot of last season and enjoyed the points as I rotated him. Porro is worth it for the offense. If you want to rotate 4.5, VDV is the way to go. But I am excited to own Porro this season as I won't care as much about the CS.

        Same season - that was GW2, Son weren’t injured but in GW1 they lost 1-0 at home to Everton and were very poor.
        
        That was my best season (7k), I played WC in GW2 but kept Kane and Son…my best week ever!

People here are funny. Don't want Son up front, so when he goes to the wing, they complain about that too. Where exactly do people want Son to play? He is better on the wing, just have some patience, or sell him if you don't. Son scoring in this game will not be a surprise in the slightest.

  The Solanke bandwagon was mind boggling IMO. He went from 0 interest to a must have soon as his name was signed on that contract. I get he has better prospects there, but yea over Wood with great fixtures and downgrading a good defender? Its easy to say in hindsight it was wrong. But it can still work out, maybe.
