Five-time top 1k finisher Tom Freeman is here to help with your pre-deadline dilemmas for the next hour.

Whether it’s questions on specific players, team selection, chip strategy or anything in between, Scout’s Deputy Editor will tackle whatever’s thrown at him.

He’ll be on hand to first reply to requests from Premium Members in the Hot Topic below the line of this piece and will get through as many as he can until the next article goes up. If there’s time, Tom will also turn his attention to other requests in the comments section.

If you’d like to receive an email notification letting you know when future RMT Surgery’s are live, you can now do so. When editing your profile, under ‘Alerts & Notifications‘, you’ll find a section on ‘Email Notifications‘. In there is an option for ‘Rate My Team Surgery‘, check that box and you will receive an email letting you know when the surgery is about to go live.

You can, as ever, chip in with your own opinions on the RMT requests filtering through – and naturally, you’re free to ignore the article subject matter and talk about any other wider FPL topics that you’d normally be musing on.

Don’t forget that, if it’s an algorithmic answer you’re after rather than an opinion-based one, we also have a ‘Rate My Team’ tool available in the Premium Members Area.

    Hi Tom
In light of Slot’s comments today would you start Quansah or Harwood-Bellis this week? – was hoping to wait a week and bring a 4.5 million Villa defender, and presumably even the most optimistic Villain wouldn’t bring that forward to this week (Barco already pushed to 3rd sub!!). Best as always. Thomas.

i dont see quansah starting and i also dont see konate playing 90 so I would start Harwood Bellis in that case

I think Konsa could play RB this week, but yeah, GW3 is best.

Re Quansah/Harwood-Bellis, I'd start the latter I think. A bit too much uncertainty with Quansah right now.

I will use my FT on Solanke and I have 1.5 in the bank. I think I will want him back once he is back in the starting XI, but for now would you say it's a no-brainer to get Havertz in (I missed the first price rise, annoyingly)? I am also interested in Muniz and Joao Pedro.

    A Havertz
    B Muniz
    C Joao Pedro

What do you mean hyping Haaland. His record against bottom half teams is simply outrageous, given the level of captain / triple captains he’ll have this week I can’t see it as a risk worth taking to exclude him.

Or else he'll score 5 goals but let's just ignore that and finish last! No Haaland is the very definition of fantasy football suicide.

Haaland Can easily blank. Or can just Have an assist. Some year pool scored 8 goals against forrest may be. Salah did nothing.

What's Salah got to do with Haaland? Easily blank is an outrageous statement. Check his stats v bottom ranked teams and you will open those eyes. I'll be shocked if he doesn't get 30 pts as captain this gw

Bit of a wordy post, but which would you go for?

    A)
    Ederson
    TAA - Gvardiol - Robinson
    Szoboszlai - Jota - Eze - Saka
    Haaland - Havertz - Muniz

    4.0 - Livramento - 4.0 - 4.5

    OR

    B)
    Hendo
    Livramento - Lewis - Robinson
    Salah - Jota - Bernardo - Saka
    Haaland - Havertz - Muniz

    4.0 - 4.0 - 4.0 - 4.5

    1. Camzy
      • Fantasy Football Scout Member
      • 16 Years

      Szoboszlai cannot cover Salah.

But that defense in B is too weak. Downgrade Bernardo + Muniz to 5m and 5.5m mids, play 3-5-2 and use the funds to beef up defense a bit.

    2. Freshy
      • Fantasy Football Scout Member

B looks loaded upfront / too weak at back
      Maybe sacrifice Saka?
      Salah&Haaland is the way forward
      Almost equally weak benches

    3. dansully3

    4. The Mentaculus

B attack is tempting but not sure how long that sort of defence will hold up (no cover & will have to keep using FTs on 4.5 defenders or play them in tough fixtures). Prefer picking one of Salah/Haaland only for better balance

Does rolling next week give you a chance to make a move to upgrade Dom’s spot next week? If so, I’d go A. If plan was always to downgrade Dom to free up funds for elsewhere in gw 3, I’d pull the trigger now and go B.

If you have a path to Ollie or Kai next week through a double move (assuming you don’t have a path without a hit this week), I’d probably roll this week and play Rogers. I think it has better mid-term upside, and Villa did do the double over ARS last year, so you might get lucky and spike a return.

        2. Honker Muddlefoot
          • 7 Years
          2 years, 2 days ago

If it was my team, I’d probably only consider the Dom to Muniz move this week if freeing up that 1.5m let me upgrade a mid or def next week to someone who I liked and felt had the upside to help raise my team’s ceiling. Otherwise, I’d be looking for funds through rolling and making a double move next week to let someone like Kai or Ollie be my ceiling raiser.

    Def:
    Porro - Andersen - Robinson - Quansah - Barco

Also have Nkunku that may be a doubt.

Would love to roll a transfer but I guess I have to beef up my defence…

    A) Quansah -> 4.0 def
    B) Nkunku + Quansah -> Mf + def
    C) Roll and hope Andersen starts

    B) could be Munoz + Hudson-Odoi/Minteh or something else

    1. Honker Muddlefoot
      • 7 Years
      2 years, 2 days ago

I really like Muñoz upside long term. If I was hitting in a defender, I’d want it to be for someone with attacking potential like him. Otherwise, I’d just roll the dice with Andersen this week and reassess next week with two transfers. Nkuku is just coming into the fixtures you wanted him for, so you may want to see if that choice bears fruit first rather than selling him for a hit straight away after his toughest fixture of his run.
