If playing WC this GW, do you get 2 FT next GW?

If you have 2 B4 the WC then you'll still have 2 after. You won't get an additional transfer if you use your wc

Despite a decent start, I still hit the Wildcard - because it’s fun to tinker around the squad 24*7. Finally ended up with below for now:
Any thoughts or comments would be helpful to identify if there are any glaring omissions!

    Raya valdimarsson
    Robertson Lewis Robinson (Konsa Greaves)
    Salah Palmer ESR Rogers (Winks)
    Haaland Havertz Pedro

Same as mine except I'm rotating 3 4.0 defs for final Def spot so I could have taa. Yours is the more sensible approach!

Really happy with my midfield 5, so don't really wanna change it. I'm debating wildcarding to sort my defence and attack out. How's this wildcard looking?

    Raya,
    Trent, Gabriel, Pau Torres
    Palmer, Son, Saka, Jota, Madueke
    Isak, Wissa

4.0, Pedro, Nedeljkovic, Van den Berg

Wissa and Pedro rotate really well. I still have faith in Isak, maybe that's misplaced? Gabriel can be benched for Nedeljkovic when they play Spurs and City, as Villa are at home to Wolves and Everton. Should be able to then save up to 4/5 transfers to make any changes later.

You need at least one of Salah or Haaland imo. Considering you have used your wildcard, you will struggle to get either back in. It’s not very fun playing fantasy when you fear Haaland and salah hauls every week.

What will you tinker with after this week is up? Fantasy is a long game that needs patience

I wouldn't go double Arsenal defense on WC personally. Prefer to have that 3rd slot open for Havertz come GW6.

That draft looks too reactionary to me. You should have at least one of Haaland or Salah. Son is not reliable enough imo as your 3rd premium.

Since strikers are harder to pick I'd build around Haaland + Palmer personally.

I like it mate. The only way it works though is if you nail the captaincy pick every week. Cos you're putting that up against 5mil Haaland/Salah captains which come in so often.

I reckon it will be a fun team to play with and you'll finish between 4 and 6 millionth overall.

      Stick with this

Palmer and to a lesser extent Saka are just as good a pick as Salah and Haaland and cheaper

Son has a similar points per game ratio than Salah last 5 seasons

The fact that Haaland and Salah are the most expensive means they will score the most points, right? That's how people think

      Doesn't work like that.

    A - Saka > Palmer (bring back Saka GW6)

How many home and away players have you got this week? I have only got 4 home players, and one is Onana in goal vs Pool so it may as well be 3.

There's a lot of mixed fixtures this week too, so its probably going to be a bit low-scoring compared to GWs 1 and 2 IMO.

6 homeboys for me, it wasn't intentional to set up my squad for a roughly even home/away spread every week but I do prefer it this way tbh

I would prefer to have more balance. Do you think home and away matters that much?

I think its importance is over-rated, but some teams and players definitely perform better or worse depending where they are. Newcastle and someone like Gordon is a good example of this. I actually avoided picking Gordon at the start because didn't like the home and away games (2 at home in first 5, and one is spurs). Spurs probably is a good fixture in reality for Newcastle, but Spurs are not gonna lose 4-0. It will be like 2-2 or something.

Maybe it is overrated a little, Palmer and Madueke got monster hauls yesterday in a game I thought they could lose,

it's more of a psychological thing I guess especially when it comes to captaincy where I just prefer the seemingly safer bet of home advantage

      Well its really between:
      - Eze

Its not like your gonna bench ESR vs Ipswich, or any of the others who are basically premiums.

The BPS system change really seems to benefit Salah this season, one return gaining him any sort of bonus was rare in seasons gone by, certainly adds to his value I think.

Salah is gonna be my priority cap this season unless Haaland has a very easy fixture. Mids just get more points for less. If you are ever 50/50 on who to pick, should always be a a mid over a forward IMO.

That's my takeaway from last season, and my opinion for a while now.

I don’t have him currently, and been toying with a WC to bring him in, but think I really like my current team without him (-4):

            Henderson
            Trent | Gvardiol | Porro
            Salah | Son | Saka | Palmer | ESR
            Muniz | Joao Pedro

Trent, Gvardiol and one of the premium mids would have to go to accommodate him and just doesn’t seem worth it.

Nothing to fear? Bookies giving Spurs less than 20% to keep a CS.
After Brentford they have 3 away games (Palace, United, Brighton) in next 4 where it's likely they will concede (Palace, United, Brighton), also the home games in between aren't that great either (West Ham and Villa).
