seems like minutes is not an issue for him - reminds me of aguero at city, even if he comes off the bench, he'll score

No, I mean would you put him down the pecking order behind DCL, Vardy, Delap, Nketiah based on minutes or is he worth the risk?

I got him in last night to avoid another Muniz price drop, but mostly as a single week punt (vs Lei) ahead of a GW6 wild card. longer term I'm less sure.

    Good evening all!!

What do we think is the best use of our three Arsenal players folks??? Double defence or double attack????

    1. Pornchef

Best is two defence + Saka as seen by final points Vs price last season and evident season before that
Gabriel or White best attacking threat and Raya for Dave's and CS at 5.5 + 6

raya and timber for 5.5 each and then saka or havertz according to funds i think is the best.

I currently have Havertz Raya - Saka.
Very tempted to switch to Gabriel - Raya - Saka - Arsenal seem very consistent for clean sheets. Easily best defence in the league for miles.
Moving on Havertz allows me to get Watkins down the line, seems too obvious not to do.

I agree mate, I started with Raya, Gabriel and Saka and then switched to Raya, Saka and Havertz, lost Saka this week to Salah, should have just stuck with my initial Saka, Raya and Gabriel

Fully expect White and Gabriel to near enough equal or better Havertz for points or any Arsenal outfield players apart from Saka as per previous seasons and at that lower price

I might actually go triple defence, means I can have Watkins & Palmer upfront as well instead of Saka.

Not saying Palmer & Watkins are better btw, just takes away the need to choose 2 of the 3 with triple defence

I think Havertz is better "value" than Saka.

Having said that (sold Saka this week), I have only had Raya today (and Saka) at the beginning of the season.

Once Havertz is playing no.9 again they are both great.

BUT Arsenal's defence is the best in the league for consistency. I will get a Man City defender GW7. I'm keeping Raya all the way through right now.

But selling Saka out for two to three weeks for Salah didn't work but the Mateta punt for 3 weeks has paid off already (easn't expecting that, or the pen. Glasner has said Eze/Mateta are the pen takers and it is how both are feeling at the time situation.

I guess who is player better on the day.

Against Leicester/Southampton (possibly Bournemouth) you will get CS, but I expect some goals from Arsenal, and they will come from Saka/Havertz

From the GW11 ITB, if I haven't WC by then I will decide. I see less CS's even after today, GW9-11

why do people like gvardiol? he scored 5 last season yes, but city never keep clean sheets even against the small clubs. Gabriel has scored 3 in the past 3 seasons but is keeping clean sheets at the same price. plus he's a rotation risk with pep

Sitting on three FTs at the moment with this bunch (stars represent those I need to get out):

    Sels
Gvardiol | Van de Ven | Burn*
    Saka | Eze | Palmer | Salah | Amad
    Isak* | Muniz *

    Flekken | Wood | Mykolenko* | Quansah*

Clearly, going without Haaland hasn't worked itself out, but I am loath to drop Salah home to Bournemouth, so it would have to be either Palmer or Saka making way. Does something like this make sense?

    Isak + Muniz + Saka >> Haaland + Vardy + Traore?

I would honestly roll one more week or or pick a striker for a 1 or 2 GW punt WC6/GW7) with all those FTs.

Haaland will probably get a goal next week, but I doubt 2 or 3.

  10. Ser Davos

Pre-season I wasn't sure on Havertz's and Liverpool's defence value. Far more convinced though each element has an underwhelming week

so picking slots and configurations around 3 ARS, 3 LIV + Haaland (plus Mbuemo) is quite a conundrum atm

    1. Ser Davos
      • 10 Years
      1 year, 2 months ago

one thought is to lock in Salah/Haaland and play 4 atb with 2 x LIV, 3 x ARS + a cheapie and consign Rogers to the bench etc.

what do we value in terms of CSs though is the question? Mids had an off week this week, but when they spark, the landscape alters a lot

Salah is unaffordable imho. Saka is the best long term pick (pens + corners on his side) and so far unlucky Trent 2nd imo. Jota and Diaz seem to be minutes risks, but Nunez and Gakpoo were even worse, so I expect to see some sort of bounce back. However, injuries may change things.

How does Konsa, Palmer, Pedro > Gabriel, Mbeumo, Solanke look for free for GW6?

Pedro’s fixtures aren’t great, Palmer isn’t living up to his pricetag and I genuinely can’t remember the last time Villa/Konsa kept a cleansheet.

Have the exact cash to do Konsa & Isak > Greaves and Watkins for -4. Watkins has a good chance of paying back the -4 v Wolves and it saves my WC. Also Villa's defence seems quite poor this season. Yay or nay? Plan to lose Jota > Mbuemo in GW6

I had Gabi on bench behind ESR. I should have trused my gut and started both Gabriel and ESR over Rogers (Muniz) and Rico Lewis with hindsight. Bench points are not lost points however. Keep on playing and get over it. At least you have Gabriel when others need to buy him.

    2FT 0.5 itb

    Raya
    TAA Porro Robinson
    Saka Palmer Jota ESR
    Haaland Pedro Muniz*

    Vald Winks Hall Barco*

With Hall starting I think I can just hold onto him for the next few and reassess. Plan is Muniz -> DCL and bank other FT. Then GW6 get in Mbeumo for Jota. With 2 Arsenal and Palmer already don't think a WC in 6 will be required

I have same 7 attackers and Muniz to DCL is no brainer imo. Vardy has more difficult fixtures and DCL looked like he could be finding his form. He has been good in my team but also disaster once or twice. No risk, no gain and this is a game.

I don't remember who the manager was when he was on fire, but he really was clinical. He is confidence player and when not in form he's been worse than Rashford. He is also more injury prone. But I remember him scoring basically almost weekly for 9 weeks or so. He looked a bit like that, but not as clinical yet.

I have Myko Gordon and Isak in my team. Am I possibly looking at losing 0.3 by the end of the week? In which case I would consider using my WC one week earlier than expected. Cheers.

Is Haaland (c) and definitive no for all owners? Salah (h) to Bournemouth all day long?

Not definitive, he could easily score a couple, but I'll be (c)ing Salah.

I don't have Salah, but even then it'd take a lot to get me to take the armband off Haaland

I don't have Salah. Palmer was poor. Had Haaland played for Spurs today, he would have scored imo. If he scores one early it might result to more open game and brace is still a possibility. However, last time Saliba kept him quiet.

    Which budget striker?

    A) Vardy
    B) DCL

    Thanks in advance

Was just about to post this 😆

Will be getting one of them if Wissa is ruled out. Is it a 50/50 call?

I can see them both scoring a brace in Leicester v Everton tbh. Vardy is @ Arsenal the following week so not much use there. DCL is (h) to Palace so another good fixture.

        Fixtures suggest DCL imo

    Go with these two free transfers;

    Winks > Mbeumo
    Isak > Vardy

    Cheers.

Arteta on Saka’s injury: “I don’t know exactly what it is but he could not continue”. On Ødegaard: “We have to wait and see, it’s not clear yet”

What’s a reasonable score this week? 50? Luckily if you had a bad week, most did not have an exceptional week by any means

52 points gave me grey arrow with minimal green in it.

Is it a bad idea going with just 1 premium in Haaland and then distributing the cash to get Bowen, Eze, Mateta, Havertz and Mbeumo?
