How mad am I to want to bring in Jesus?

Must be some rotation due. Havertz has played a lot. Trossard suspended. PSG coming up.
    Big gamble obviously.

Would you say the same for Havertz? Thinking bringing him in.

Yeah it is just a 3wk thing regardless. So makes it more appealing. If it fails it’ll hardly be spectacularly. But if it works…

But what does “work” look like, even if he does play he’s hardly prolific. The upside isn’t work the gamble …

Trossard isn't suspended for Leicester this weekend, he's suspended for their milk cup match Wednesday against Bolton.

Are we to assume everyone posting is on a WC unless they state otherwise? Sure seems to be the case with some posters not bothering to announce they are on a WC but expecting us to mind-read that they are.

My own preference is to have a decent 1st bench - either a 4.6m defender or a 5.6m fwd/mid - to supplement Rogers.

He’s my 8th attacker so not a default starter, but he’ll play a fair bit as it saves me rushing to replace others. Came in for Muniz this week for example and will fill in for him until gameweek 8, when Muniz becomes DCL and I bench Jackson. That’s the plan for now in any case!

Yes - you’d lose value and the expected points differential probably isn’t very much. Fine to WC him out for Semenyo, but makes no sense if you then want him back.

Brought Kudus few weeks back as a differential but west ham in general looked very clueless last game

Brentford away could be pretty good game for Kudus if west ham could keep their act together.

Should I keep him this week or ship him out?

I feel like you could keep it. The major thing you are missing is Arsenal defenders. Probably not worth a wildcard though

Exactly why I don’t like spreading cash, I’d want to play all three. In any case you are benching a player for one of the fixtures that entices you in the first place.

All that said - I’d say Wood, Fulham underlying numbers have been reasonable.

        Raya Fab
        Trent Myko Gabriele 4.0 3.9
        Saka Mboomo Semenyo Rogers Diaz
        Haaland Jackson Solanke

Going big upto currently, will probably change by deadline tho

That defense is a horror show. With the likes of DCL, Wood & Pedro - all pen takers -there’s no need to have Solanke + Jackson.
The team would be massively improved by going Jackson + DCL/Wood and upgrading a 4.0 defender.
Then after a few weeks Jackson > Solanke when fixtures turn

Yes that is definitely a good alternative plan for the forwards, just not many cheap defenders that scream points

Yea I’d personally downgrade Semenyo / Jackson or Solanke to upgrade Mykolenko or a 4m defender. You don’t want to have to rely on Mykolenko every week.

Anyone else thinking FPL challenge is scraping the barrel already?

This week if you haven't seen, it's only players from Africa.
There's only 1 choice of keeper (Onana).

I'd imagine most teams will just be Onana, Aina, Salah, Mbuemo, Jackson.

But the other continents have some interesting options, I think they just realised they couldn’t leave out Africa if doing all the others (would get so many complaints) and so essentially sacrificed a week for sake of balance.

Had an interesting discussion earlier with different responses. Who would you rather have between Palmer and Watkins?

    1. thegaffer82

      2 years, 14 days ago

There must be two other players in the conversation as we are comparing a striker v a mid.
But just those two alone - I’d probably go for Watkins plus the cash.
Chelsea have too many players and no stability in attack.Watkins is established and settled in that Villa side

So many options for low budget strikers, which 2 do you prefer next to Haaland (playing 352)
    A) Jao Pedro
    B) Wood
    C) Vardy
    D) DCL
    E) Jimenez
    F) Ndiaye

Trying to play with a Salah WC:

    Raya 4.0
    Gabriel Konate Lewis Mykolenko Greaves
    Salah Diaz Mbeumo Semenyo Rogers
    Haaland Havertz Pedro

Probably need to sacrifice a bit too much, defence is a bit rough

It’s not horrendous but the defence is sketchy with Konate and Lewis. It could work though!

    How this look now?

    Raya
    TAA Gabriel Aina
    Saka Mbuemo Diaz Semenyo
    Erling Ollie DCL

    fab greaves VDB Dibbling

Main thing was removing Porro and Eze for Aina and Diaz.

Best 4.6 and under defender for the next period?

3x 4mil defenders is a mistake on wildcard. It will defo bite you on the bum at some point, and you’ll be wasting precious transfers on upgrading 4mil defenders to 4.5mil defenders (as well as other transfers to free up the cash to do it)

Watkins has to go I’m afraid. Solanke or Jackson decent shouts at the lower price point. And that’ll free up enough to upgrade 2 of the 4mil guys

Perhaps Wood to Pedro give you 0.5m to upgrade a DEF to a nailed 4.5m? I know Pedro not popular but you can then play Rogers? I worry VdB not nailed in a back 4

I've been trying to get Watkins in to that team without such a weak defence and the only way to do it is to drop Wood down to someone like Jimenez to save the 0.5 needed for a defensive upgrade.
I'm now swaying towards Jackson and Wood, and will probably switch to Solanke in a couple of weeks if necessary. but I did really want Watkins!
