@FPLGeneral
With the next Fantasy Premier League (FPL) deadline almost upon us, we’re getting insight and team reveals from our panel of Hall of Famers and guest writers. Here, three-time top 500 finisher FPL General talks through his Gameweek 6 Wildcard.
Make sure to check out the latest 59th Minute Podcast, which will be dropping on Friday afternoon.
Good luck this weekend folks, especially to my fellow Wildcarders.
if Raya is ruled out tomorrow, first time in ages done early transfers and it backfires straight away 😥
and when you don't do them you end up losing 0.4 making the exact moves a few days later. always the way
Can completely relate to this and it sucks.
He won't be ruled in or out is my guess. Arteta wouldn't even rule Odegaard out of the NLD when he was blatantly out for weeks. Just the nature of pressers and managers these days.
I don't think there will be anything concrete tbh tomorrow
Still think its Arteta covering his hide
I lost 1.0 playing my wildcard a day late and now don’t want to change my team that much lol
How 1.0? That's 10 rise/falls
Pickford
Isak
Munoz
Muniz
Jota
Rogers
Diaz
Haaland
Calvert lewin
I got drunk drowning sorrows after Ipswich scored late and forgot to wildcard early enough, it’s not exactly 1.0 but feels like it
Jota doesn't count as 0.6 not bankable profit. The others in or out what happened to previous FTs?
Look. I’m being dramatic haha!
The pain is that I could have let it ride. Everton look like they could improve with branthwaite and I could keep Jota.
Wildcarded as I ended up with Welbeck Vardy and Isak
WC Team with 0.1m
Flekken 4m
Davis TAA Gabriel (Aina, Keane)
Rogers, Saka, Palmer, Mbuemo, ESR
Haaland, DCL, Wood
Can't stretch to Sanchez unless I do Moreno over Aina...
Can't get to Raya without losing TAA
Or downgrade Saka or Palmer to Diaz.
Not ideal with only 2 Arsenal. Find a better 4.0m def
Keep as is for me mate, team looks strong
Few price rises tonight, if you haven't locked it in yet.
Current team - 2 FT & 0.0 ITB
Sanchez
Robbo Robinson Greaves Mazaroui (Lewis)
Eze Salah Saka (Adana) (Franca)
Haaland Havertz (Joao Pedro)
Do I somehow how replace Joao Pedro or carry him for another week and attack the team with 3FT?
Lack of funds due to Haaland/Salah/Saka setup
Busted Tony ha ha. Anything spring to mind as a quick fix, started without Haaland which wasn't pleasant but want to keep Saka for the fixture swing
Salah or Robbo is your cash cow. Ideally keep 6m defender price bracket
Would holding this GW and shipping Mo next week work? Or is it daft to lose value
Probably hold. What's Pedro's purchase and selling price?
I'm in a similar position except have Palmer over Saka 2 FT and 0.0 ITB.
I'm either going to hold or do Pedro to Ndiaye
Tough one isn't it. I was tempted to hop on Jiminez but if he doesn't score points it feels a waste. Who's your first sub?
I've actually started Lewis and Mazraoui first sub
Not a bad shout tbf let's hope he is in the starting lineup
I would sell Salah and spread the funds to improve the balance of the team.
I know that's the right call just feel he may haul this week lol
Cant sell Saka before bottom of the league , I'm waiting a week
Salah*
That's my feeling
Palmer Wood Vardy > Semenyo Watkins Havertz
on WC yes or no?
Yeah the latter looks stronger to me, just hope Havertz doesn't drop deep too much with no Ode
Anyone captaining Saka over Haaland? And why is so?
Tempted but tried that once this season and it didn't go well ha ha
Don’t own haaland so might as well
Don't own either. Lot of time behind the sofa this weekend
Got .3 in bank worth getting Neto incase Raya is out
You got a 3rd Arsenal spot available for that?
Too much scotch 🙂
Raya, Gabs, Saka owner whoops!
Hold Raya or jump to Sanchez?
Wait for the press conference
I'll be jumping to Sanchez I think if we get anything in the presser
Salah & Haaland owners all calm and still the cool dudes 🙂
I wish lol
Yep those that got both week 1 are flying in my leagues. Was the right call
I got both and oddly for me have captained the right one every week so far. I am getting worried about what will happen now to balance out my good luck
Best 4.5 defender? ideally nailed for the season
Mazraoui
*4.6
Have 2 FTs, which do you prefer?
A) Eze & Salah > Saka & Mbeumo
B) Eze & Salah > Saka & Diaz
C) Summat else and keep Salah maybe?
B over A. Would need to see your team to judge
I'm have Salah & Eze and 2 FT and am going to roll the transfers. i have Raya, Havertz, Gabriel blocking me from Saka though but don't think I'd do it anyway
What's special about General’s WC?
Template.
Much different to this?
Raya
TAA, Gabriel, Lewis,
Saka, Mbeumo, Diaz, Rogers,
Haaland, Jackson, DCL
Fabs, ESR, Mazroui, Greaves,
.3
Has Myko, Semenyo, Solanke
Cheers, I’ll stick 😉
Your defence is better. Other two are 50/50
:Tick:
✅
I think the thumbs up showed on my email 😀
Lol, took 3 goes to get it to show 🙂
Thumbs was first try 😉
On WC would you pick as 3rd / 4th defender (have TAA and Gabriel):
A) Konsa + Colwill
B) Lewis + Mykolenko
a
Lewis/Maz
Which pair?
a) ESR + Solanke
b) Carvalho + Watkins
Flekken
TAA - Gabriel - Mykolenko
Saka - L. Diaz - Mbeumo - Rogers
Haaland - DCL - (Solanke/Watkins?)
Fabianski - (ESR/Carvalho?) - Rico Lewis - Greaves
a
A
Which WC is better ?
A-
Raya (FAB)
Aina TAA Gabriel ( Faes Greaves)
Saka Díaz Rogers Mbeumo( Dibling)
Haaland Wood Watkins
B-
Raya (FAB)
Lewis TAA Gabriel ( Faes Greaves)
Salah Semenyo Mbeumo Rogers ( Dibling)
Haaland Havertz Wood
B
maybe A... tough one
Both good. Not much in it. A is very close to mine atm
Cheers dude
A) Solanke & Jackson
Or
B) Watkins & Wood
B
Is there any good Arsenal ITK's these days. Raya news is crucial
Is he really injured or is Arteta playing games as usual? Made sense to test him in the cup
Muscular injury as Arteta said after last nights game.
We would have seen by now I think. If you really want the double up Gabriel and saliba not that much more.
fancy going Havertz as 3rd Arsenal spot if Raya is out
Yeah I like it
Great News
I am revealing my WC team tomorrow for absolutely free.
free trial with a recurring 5.99 fee after 30 days?
Read Terms and conditions. But if you find that very technical we can make it easy for you for just 1.99$
Stopped paying after having Gambling sites pushed 24/7
Flol
Yes but you’ll over tinker which is of no use to us
Been waiting for this
Best rotation with Sanchez?
Or just get Fabianksi?
Haven’t enjoyed owning Everton keepers thus far and like some choice… jealous of raya and onana owners
People still rotate keepers i 2024?
Those that backed Everton week 1 are clutching at anything
Raya Fabianski
Gabriel TAA Lewis Mykolenko Greaves
Saka Semenyo Diaz Rogers Mbuemo
Haaland X X
a) Solanke & Jimenez
b) Solanke & Ndiaye
c) DCL & Wood
Not getting excited about any of them TBH.
Solanke & Wood, & downgrade Trent a tad would be my thoughts.
Of the other 6-ish forwards, is Duran worth a shout? Looks sharper than DCL & Ndiaye to me, even as a cameo.
On WC - throw me a letter please.....
Flekken (Muric)
Gabriel Dalot ? (Myko Greaves)
Saka Palmer Mbeumo Rogers (Dibling)
Haaland Jackson Wood
5.7m to fill the 3rd playing defender slot -
A. Porro / Konate
B. Lewis*, & upgrade Jackson > Havertz
C. Lewis*, keep Jackson & upgrade Dibling > ESR (who I already have pre-WC)
D. Digne, & upgrade Flekken > Raya
E. Drop Muric to 4.0 and get Saliba
* Lewis could be Aina or Digne if you like.
TY
E. Or Raya (4.0) and Konate
Wood to rise tonight?
Always
*boink* Go to horny jail!
If not, there's little blue pills for that champ.... 😉
Lel
fnarrr fnarr
How about this rogue/zero defense WC then....
Flekken [Valdi]
Gabriel / Lewis / Konsa [Greaves / Bednarek]
Mbeumo / Rogers / Salah / Saka [Dibling]
DCL / Haaland / Jackson (or Solanke...)
choice is:
A) Above WC (tonight - zero wiggle room)
B) -4 to get:
Henderson
TAA L.Davies Porro
Eze Rogers Mbeumo Salah
DCL Haaland Jackson
[Matthews / Minteh / H-Bellis / Barco]
Oh go on...chuck us a view...!
Those that pulled WC at weekend are probably 1m up so far with several tonight as well. If your doing it, do it now, tomorrow will see more rises.
I'd WC that. Henderson & Eze, & prob Salah have all outstayed their welcome, you need a bench you can call on, and you have no Arse!
Is Timber nailed?
Kerching!
Stand up comedy, pure gold.
Unless he gets decked
Looking forward to timber vs wood
Shame Downing has retired as could've had Downing Wood Timber
Wood plays for Forest
Goodnight
Which GK combo to do on WC?
1) Sanchez and Muric
2) Flekken and Areola
3) Raya and Fabianski
3 but 2 because injury
On WC. Rolling out as a 3-5-2. All input appreciated, please
(A) Robertson, Mbeumo, Jackson, Mazraoui
(B) TAA, McNeil, Havertz, Dalot
Rest of midfield is Salah, Diaz, ESR, & Rogers. If I went with B, could go 4-4-2 whenever one of Rogers, ESR, or McNeil have a tough fixture. Don’t feel great about going with McNeil over Mbeumo but he would allow an upgrade of 3 other spots (is Havertz an upgrade over Jackson?)
Ultimately I am really trying to avoid moving Salah to Saka. Would upgrade several spots but I just feel a big Salah haul this weekend
Can you downgrade ESR to get A with TAA?
Esr to dibling
He’s the real deal
Tempting. He’s not played a lot of minutes so far, you think he’s gonna get close to 90 minutes regularly?
He will get 60-70 regularly now.
Will become our talisman.
Young and raw but everything good attacking wise we do this year has come through him and sugawara
Good input, thanks. If I went that route I would have to play him most weeks
Yeah would look to rotate. I think maybe Everton go well, would need to look,
He’s in my wildcard team at the mo
My 3rd striker is fodder so I would have to rotate him with 4th defender, which would be fine assuming he had a good fixture.
Gracias
To who? A is what I currently have, forgot to mention that.
Thanks for the input, mate
Dibling or maybe Carvalho if you could afford it, but feel they are 8th attackers. Depends if your 3rd striker is playable.
I struggled to come up with a Salah draft that I liked. Maybe going without TAA is the compromise. I might be tempted by Gabriel/Saliba over Robertson.
I already have Gabriel. Also, my 3rd striker is fodder
Why Carvalho? Looks like Dibling will play more, unless you know something I don’t
I like Brentford fixtures and maybe an assumption (not necessarily based on fact) that he plays upfront with Wissa out.
Thanks! I wouldn’t be able to afford him in this scenario
You’d rather have Jackson & Mazraoui over Havertz & Dalot? ESR to Dibling would indeed allow option A with TAA
I like Mbeumo TBH. I'm going Havertz over Jackson, but if I needed the cash I think it's a fair compromise. Not sure on the Man Utd fullbacks as I haven't watched them much.
Thanks HP
Hi! Who would you start this weekend
a> Solanke (mun)
b> Konate (wol)
Thanks 🙂
Always always the striker
A looks obvious
A
What are the chances we get City team news before the deadline?
51.467%
Those who owned ESR from GW1 are you swapping him for Semenyo on WC?
I don’t want Semenyo
returned in the first 3 easier games and has 2 good games coming up, what's your thinking behind not wanting him?
I want a team where I don’t wanna book in transfers or be tempted to
If I’ve got him and he blanks against Southampton, I’m gonna think why on earth is he in my team
In hindsight, Porro GW1 was a similar move. 2 good fixtures and then crap after
Should have just got an Arsenal defender and might not be needing a wildcard now
This
Looking to keep and also go with Semenyo
I would keep ESR
I did. Too soon. Missed another unexpected price rise. The 0.1 could've been useful
Erm. Actually, I probably didn't. All good
Jackson or Watkins ?
Watkins hands down actually
Easy Watkins. More expensive for a reason.
Watkins but Jackson vs West Ham was absolutely one of the best attacking performances I’ve seen this season. Pace I haven’t seen before
I saw him though different eyes, if he clicks, going to be huge.
Vardy is on my WC team. Could we get points for shithousery please?
Only if you bring in maupay too
You do like a differential pick !
You only live once.
That’s the way
mine too! 🙂
Is this Mavididi fella playing oop?
Not really. Think of him as a support in a front 3 when they attack. Brilliant last season
Aha ty
Nah, just good. On the cards to replace Semenyo in a bit
