As the game have grown (just a few seasons ago there where 5 mill players, now it’s doubled) we need a few more rules to make it more difficult so randoms can’t just copy everything online.

        1. Bushwhacker
          • 6 Years

I mean its a game of luck so randoms or not really doesn’t matter. There’s still a dead team in the too 250

    4. Sebastes

I’d defo back something like this to make things more varied. Not sure that it should be limited to having to change every week, but something to that extent.

We see now how the game opens up a bit when Saka is out. Means most people will own Isak and Trent, but as seen with replacement discussion teams will become more varied.

Also could consider a team ban. Say you have to change captain each week and you can’t captain players from the same team more than 3 weeks in a row.

    5. Deulofail
      • 10 Years

If everyone captains the same player, the captaincy chip has no effect, like it doesn’t exist, which is what I’d prefer.

      1. Royal5
        • 14 Years

Disagree big time. The cap chip makes everthing interesting and teams different from each other. A way to catch in on rivals.

Captaincy is probably a big reason your rivals are way ahead of you in the first place. Just introduces more chaos and there is enough already. Rank jumps can be just as big or bigger if everyone is more compressed together points-wise than spread out by the injection of captaincy points

          1. Sebastes
            • 10 Years
            1 year, 2 months ago

Would you introduce something else instead to create more of a luck element? Like more chips or smth?

Think for the sake of the game growing (wrt casuals) you need those kind of variance inducing things to make it more exciting

            1. Deulofail
              • 10 Years
              1 year, 2 months ago

Not for me. I’d be more excited if there were no chilli’s because it makes all the ‘pure’ FPL decisions more important. Like if my team were exactly the same as my rivals except for one player, there’s huge stakes on this single narrative which makes me more engaged and events more memorable. Of course in reality, I have not had a single clone in the top X (however many it looks at on Live FPL) all season, so there is plenty of variety to keep things juicy imo

Saving up 5FTs (or more) should be enough to allow disengaged manages to return to the game and take engaging risks imo. I’m also okay with a FH chip and couple of WCs if it’s needed to appease the causal players but I don’t think it is. Also makes teams more simular as everyone just plays the fixtures around the blanks and doubles because the chips allow them to. WC also not really necessary when you can save up transfers either.

This wouldn’t work because teams typically move towards a template and so everybody would still captain the same player every week but it would be a different player every other week. Salah this week then Palmer then back to Salah etc. In Haaland’s first season, Haaland this week, Kane next week and then back to Haaland. I agree with Deulofail - if you have rivals and they are ahead of you, it is likely because of captaincy decisions

I’ve narrowed it down to 3 replacements for Saka…

    A) Bruno F (have Amad)
    B) Gordon (have Isak & Hall)
    C) Sarr (have Munoz)

    Which one ?
I think Gordon may take it as a proven FPL asset + the better fixtures…

Not chasing 59 points ahead in ML. Not exactly a comfortable lead. Second has Bruno. Which is the only difference in our mids til he changes Saka.
I’m just not liking Bruno dropping back so much. Which also happened in the last game on about the 60’ I think when Garnacho came on.
So could block or be different dunno…

    Henderson, Verbruggen
    Trent, Gabriel, Robinson, Hall, Harwood-Bellis
    Salah, Palmer, Fernandes, Mitoma, Rogers
    Isak, Pedro, Raul

Which pair would you rather have from gw 18/21, replacing Mitoma and Pedro/Raul?

    A) Sarr (gw18), Jackson (gw21)
    B) Gordon (gw21), Mateta (gw18)

B would mean Pedro out or extra transfer to downgrade Verbruggen but also gives an easy route to a Liverpool mid (Jota/Diaz) in 24.

    A)

This is what I wanna see from Man Utd next game:

    Onana
    Yoro De Ligt Mazraoui
    Amad Casemiro Ugarte Garnacho
    Bruno Zirkzee
    Hojlund

Martinez shaky form, Maguire and Evans not the future.

If Garnacho is going to be there long term he needs to start learning LWB now. Otherwise I can see him leaving and I don't want that.

Zirkzee is on thin ice, Last chance to impress.

    1. Sebastes

Martinez still a good player, but see where you’re coming from. Heard there were talks of a Theo Hernandez loan which I think would be perfect for manure. If not attainable I’d actually try someone like Tierney who Arsenal will defo loan out.

      Onana
      Yoro/Maz De Ligt Martinez/Maz
      Dalot/Maz Casemiro Ugarte NewLWB
      Bruno Amad
      Højlund

Bruno to play cm against easier opposition. Garnacho to rotate w Amad and play 10 when Bruno in midfield.

      Zirkzee to compete with Højlund.

Not seeing any Semenyo suggestions for a Saka replacement. He’s one of few who meets my criteria of: assured starts, form team, and strong stats. Any reason he’s not getting mentioned? Could it just be because he’s been largely transferred out in recent weeks.

Saka, VDB > Bruno + Castagne

Why? Haaland and City have shown no signs of turning it around and Everton have kept clean sheets against Arsenal and Chelsea recently.

Only reason would be saka out means a lot of funds and son Bruno don’t excite me, Haaland seems a bit of a differential if money is no object

I agree tho he’s not worth the price tag at current form

Then just do Saka to Enzo this week? I think that’s perfectly fine if you’re not keen on Bruno. Keep Trent for LEI and see if City/Haaland show any improvement.

If you can stretch funds it’s Sarr, Amad, Enzo in that order for me.

                  1. Sebastes

I actually don’t mind that at all. Trent with a good fixture while Castagne has a tough one. Cunha seems to be clear for now and could defo do something at home to UTD while Haaland is facing Everton, who stats wise are a top 5 defense in Europe atm.

Then you get Haaland as differential captain motel next week and Castagne with a very good run.

That's when the star is aligned for a Salah blank in a 5-0 Liverpool win.

Playing WC next week. What's the best one week punt move before WC?
Or should I just WC this week? Not too keen as already missed some price changes.
Thinking Saka, RAN -> Jota/Diaz, TAA.
Hoping Eze plays but have Rogers off the bench anyway.

    Current Team:

    Henderson
    Gabriel - Kerkez - Robinson
    Salah - Palmer - Saka - Eze*
Havertz - Jackson - Joao Pedro

    Slicker - Rogers - RAN - Barco*
    2FT - 0.2ITB

    Thanks

I like those moves. Question is whether to go Jota or Diaz. I’d go Diaz but have seen people say Jota might be more likely to start

I think I would rather take the punt on a Jota start, will move him on next week on WC anyway...

Too late to jump on Arsenal's defender? Feels like they will concede in four of the next five games with IPS being the only CS during this period.

They’re not though at the moment. Liverpool and Everton are with 7 and then Arsenal with 6 and Liverpool have easier fixtures in the next few

            No room for Darwin?
            Thinking
            Salah Darwin Gakpo.
Jota could play in the 10 role but Gakpos early sub plus Darwin playing every 2nd game

No Salah has the same fixture is on pens and on fire with no risk to his minutes. Owning Jota is enough of a differential, captaining him is asking for trouble.

15 pts behind in ML and rival has Bruno (Imagine they will move Saka on too).

    Do I

    A. Play Semenyo
    B. Play safe and match his Bruno -4
    C. Punt on Foden -4 (I know the risk here)
    D. Something else

    Thanks lads

    13K OR 2FTs 1.9 ITB

    Sanchez (Ward)
    Hall Gabriel Dunk (Lewis Davis)
Salah (c) Palmer Bruno Bowen (Semenyo)
    Isak Cunha Wood

Already done Saka to Bruno. Roll the other 2 FT if no word on Cunha?

    1. Dutchy FPL
      • 2 Years

Yes! String team, sprong rank, and good position with the FT's and money. After GW19 bring in Jackson?

    2. The Big Fella

Very minor point but why Sanchez over a keeper for a team that keeps clean sheets and why Ward when Hermansen will likely be back very soon?

    3. The Big Fella
      • 9 Years
      1 year, 2 months ago

But yes, wait for news on Cunha before shipping. His ban may not even be that long which means you could probably just bench him given the rest of the team (352 or 442)

      1. Pub Crawl to the Townsend

Thanks mate yeah depends on the ban length. The keepers I just put in on GW6 wildcard, not wasting free transfers on them

Hi all. Had a poor season, but captaining Isak has given me a buzz and moved me up to 1.3 mill! I know!
    Which goalie this week
A Sels H to Spurs (Forest defence great, but Spurs mostly score)
B Fabianski A to Soton (WHU defence wobbly but Saints toothless)
    Cheers!
