FPL risks losing a significant number of managers if it continues down this path. The days when it could be enjoyed as a casual hobby while still achieving success are long gone. Those with real-life responsibilities simply don’t have the time to navigate the increasing complexity. As the game becomes more intricate, content creators stand to gain the most, while everyday managers are left following the same strategies out of necessity rather than genuine engagement.

Well put and I completely agree. I don’t even fully understand it and I’m out there doing content. Only just found out that if you selected Moyes earlier in the week you have to use a transfer if you want to switch him to slot. Mad

If pool have dgw 25, why sell a pool player(if tripled) to slot? As they will have same number of games
          Am I missing something!
Obviously slot isn’t a rotation injury risk etc, like a player who has two dgw

The AM chip feels like something that was written on the back of a cigarette packet and agreed over a few pints on Christmas Eve.

Why are managers all of sudden incorporated into the game and have to be budgeted for 23 weeks into the season. Just too much of a gimmick but I will have to use it like it or not.

Makes sense if you think about it. If you use a FT to sign a player, you don’t have the ability to switch them out for free all week. When a FT is used, well it’s used. Same applies to AM. Cmon mate, you do content?

I don't think they fore-saw this eventuality while war-gaming this chip prior to launch. This throws a grenade into the rank pond. Think they'll have to review this chip post-season.

I dont disagree, i have no idea why fpl introduced this chip, its way over complicated for a game that is traditionally simple

having said that the hardcore have been asking for something different for years, but FPL doesnt usually care about the hardcore, they just want to maximise number of players/clicks

For me there are other formats like Dream Team (and before that the Sky game RIP) which cater for those type of players who want more planning and they are more involved with more intricate scoring systems

100%. I am really enjoying the UCL game this year because even though it has some additions (subs between matchdays etc), the game is still far simpler than FPL with the ever expanding amount of chips and calendar unpredictability.

I am convinced they only did assistant manager to try to get ahead of algorithmic models But in the process have left the game pretty unplayable

I wouldn't mind having a Manager position all season, which uses one of your FT's to change and uses one of your 3 player slots for a team too.

But this 3 weeks only, blocks other chips nonsense is just silly.

RP: 3 Pool with Diaz, 1FT and 0.1m itb which option would you go for-

A Slot AM in GW24 by downgrading Diaz and likely carry Slot through till GW26
B Moyes AM in GW 24 and use FT for Ange/Silva/Emery in GW25

They are probably waiting for Utd to offer £250 million seeing as they paid way to much for everyone else they bought recently. Although at least Mitoma is a decent player , which is more than can be said for Utd's recent purchases and the amount they paid for them .

Would Liverpool still double later on if they get in fa cup semi?
Really think AM chip is way forward for those chasing. Everyone is going to captain Salah anyway so at best you will only get marginal return on his tc points.
If still chasing.. a double later in season on Salah or isak and stick tc on him will see big returns possibly

If playing AM it's a shame that Spurs v Man United wouldn't be a table bonus game.

Gw26 looks highly unlikely for a table bonus too.

But as a fall back position there's likely win points for Spurs at Ipswich if they maintain their lead over Liverpool in the league cup semi final 2nd leg.

      TAA, Robinson, Hall,
      Rogers, Salah, Palmer, Gordon,
      Wood, Isak, Gakpo.

      Subs: Fabianski, Amad, Milenkovic, Faes

I have already used triple captain on Haaland early in the season and I have 3 Liverpool now. Was thinking about the assistant manager on Moyes but think it's risky.

But I was thinking of swapped Faes for Mykolenko and using the bench boost as apart from Fabianski the subs have decent fixtures?

I really don't like how restrictive this assistant manager chip is.

With 3 Lpool players this looks pretty good:

24 Moyes. Easy home fixture and table bonus match in Liverpool derby where anything can happen
25 Emery. Easy home fixture and table bonus match at home against Liverpool. (Or Silva which has table bonus game against Forest and a game against Spurs. both at home)
      26 Iraola against Wolves.

This announcement is both exciting and a complete pain in the Arse as well.
I've got triple Pool (Alisson, Gakpo & Mo), 1FT & 0.1 to my name.

I could swap Muric, my only deadwood, for a 3.9 with my FT, to afford Moyes, but I still can't afford a doubling manager in 25. The odds are probably favouring a New - Liv final, in which case only 'Pool & Villa will double anyway.
Not playing AM this week allows TC (and I reckon an extra Mo plus a 3rd 'Pool playing asset negates Slot in 24 anyway), plus it leaves the door open for FH25 should the unthinkable happen and we get Spurs, Fulham, Arse & Chelsea doubling.

The only way I can make it work is Wood (BHA) > Ndiaye or Beto, AM Moyes and use next week's FT to one of the 25 doublers.
      Worth it?

I feel there's so many moving parts here and we've been unable to plan in advance so AM chip can wait until later in the season - its too valuable a chip to use on Davie Moyes!

If you wanna go AM, do you drop Trent or Gakpo from Pool to enable?

A bit more if your manager manages a goal and a bit more if it’s a 0-0 draw

This late news is a killer for those not obsessed with the game

      If it works out massive

Obviously AM Slott is the main play or postpone TC for a week

      GW24: Salah, TAA, Gakpo
      GW25: TC Salah
      AM chip: use another time

Risky (as hopefully Liverpool qualify for final) but TC on GW25 fixtures looks better to me

Same here but with TC Salah 24. Salah is fixtureproof and I prefer to have a peace of mind that he is certain to have dgw this week.
Fixtures itself dont do much for Salah

      Must have been asked a lot, I had 3x Liverpool and 1 FT and have only 2 options in my mind;

      1) I can just go with the AM on Moyes and roll the FT so I can change to Emery/Silva

      2) use FT to move Gakpo to Wissa and use AM on slot.

Didn't know that! Thanks. Once you add an AM then think you would need a transfer to change it at any point? Do you know what happens when on WC...can you add an AM?

Yeah you use FTs (and budget) to change if necessary. Doubt you can add one with a wildcard cos you can't play 2 chips at once, but who knows?

In your opinion what would be better for this team

      1. Salah TC DGW 25
      2. Moyes AM DGW 24 then DGW25 AM (Silva, Emery or Post) & DGW25 player (-4)

Rank just in the top 500k

      Sels Flekken

      Gabriel TAA Mykolenko Hall Porro

      Salah Palmer Sarr Rogers Amad

      Gakpo Isak Wissa

1FT 0.5 ITB All chips available

      Any ideas would be welcomed

My strategy is to leave my 3 Liverpool players in place and continue with TC.

Mainly because I can't be bothered to re-think everything.

I've with you on this! Slot is a good AM this week but not worth the transfers if you've got 3 pool already. Will be other opportunities for AM

I think that’s alright. Still gives you the edge of having 3 players with a back to back double

Slots manager points wont be game changing, your 3rd Liverpool player could get near him.

The player you are replacing the third liverpool player with can also score points

        Rotation is the fear though.
Unless your 3 is: Alisson, VVD and Salat. And if it is you need CSs to keep up with Slot

Could be a huge advantage for those with Slot, back to back doubles is unheard of

I only got Gakpo recently, so I blocked out of playing AssMan on slot

Could still go Mo triple 24
        AM slot in 25

If Mo hauls in 24 he should help with any major rank swings!
