FPL Double Gameweek 25 confirmed: Which teams could ‘double’?

Fantasy Premier League (FPL) managers’ plans were thrown into disarray on Friday morning with the announcement of Double Gameweek 25.

Six different clubs could be affected, but which ones will depend on the results of next week’s EFL Cup semi-finals.

Should Liverpool progress to the EFL Cup final, Liverpool and Aston Villa will ‘double’ in Gameweek 25 and blank in Gameweek 29.
If Tottenham Hotspur get to the EFL Cup final, Tottenham and Fulham will ‘double’ in Gameweek 25 and blank in Gameweek 29.

Tottenham take a narrow 1-0 lead to Anfield after edging past Liverpool in the first leg, so it’s all to play for.

What is certain is that one way or another, Double Gameweek 25 is guaranteed.

It doesn’t stop there, however.

Should Arsenal overcome Newcastle United and reach the EFL Cup final, Arsenal and Chelsea will also ‘double’ in Gameweek 25 and blank in Gameweek 29.

As for Newcastle, there hasn’t been an announcement regarding a new date for their clash against Crystal Palace should they reach the final.

The Magpies aren’t in Europe, however, so this fixture is easier to accommodate further down the line.

Newcastle go into the second leg at St James’ Park with a 2-0 lead over Arsenal.

In terms of chip strategy, the Assistant Manager is surely more attractive now.

By activating it ahead of Saturday’s deadline, you can profit from five matches across the next three Gameweeks.

A possible new window for the Triple Captain chip has emerged, too, with Mohamed Salah (£13.7m) potentially set to face Wolverhampton Wanderers and Aston Villa in Gameweek 25.

Currently only got Salah and Trent with a provision TC on Salah. Have funds to go Gordon to any midfielder or Wood to Gakpo

For those not using AM over the next few weeks, does this work as a plan?

GW24 - WC and cover bases for the doubles with some of the more popular picks (Watkins, Rogers, etc)
GW25 - TC Salah
GW26 - Start building towards blank GW29

A) Yes
B) No, save WC for later

What to do here? 3 Pool with Diaz, 1FT and 0.1m itb which option would you go for-

A Slot AM in GW24 by downgrading Diaz and likely carry Slot through till GW26
B Moyes AM in GW 24 and use FT for Ange/Silva/Emery in GW25

Slot Ionly think is good gw25.

Bournemouth can easily beat them or get a draw, Everton could get a draw.

  Triple Pool is more than fine imo. Definitely wouldn't lose Gakpo for Slot if you have him.
  The expected points difference between Moyes and Slot is not big. Could go either way. Slot possibly saves you a FT next GW.
  AM makes more sense than TC imo.

I have already used triple captain on Haaland early in the season and I have 3 Liverpool now. Was thinking about the assistant manager on Moyes but think it's risky.

But I was thinking of swapping Faes for Mykolenko and using the bench boost as apart from Fabianski the subs have decent fixtures?

I really don't like how restrictive this assistant manager chip is and I can never find a good opportunity to use the bench boost. It's probably the worst one

What's wrong with loosing gakpo to get a doubler in or wissa if you could get slot? Hopefully it saves you a manager transfer in gw25 and more over if you are not free hitting in 29 less player to worry about blanking since the third pool is slot. Ndiaye or wissa both available for gw29. What do you guys think?

Have 2 Liverpool, 1.4 itb, 1FT. Have all chips.

Would you downgrade anyone and get Slot and AM now?

Isak, Wood, Gakpo

Raya -> Pickford?
A def for Mykolenko?
Gordon -> Kluivert/Semenyo?
Sarr/Amad -> Dango?

Lets say Liverpool and Newcastle get to the final. Realistic scenario based on results and form. I Might go for the following strategy:

GW24: Raya to Pickford for a -4 and to free up enough cash for this plan. Three Pool, two Everton + Moyes AM
GW25: Moyes to Emery AM (Ipswich and Liverpool home), I've got Rogers, three Liverpool and even two Newcastle, so six potential doublers already.
GW26: Hold Emery or move to a better 0.8M or below manager.

Think it's worth the gamble and -4. What do you think?
