With Liverpool’s double not guaranteed in GW25 it makes sense to TC GW24 and AM GW25. Taking out Gakpo for Slot for a hit is madness when he’s bang in form. Salah can score a hatrick against any team home or away, so TC Salah this week is where I’m going. Then will use AM GW25 on a manager with a double.

If on 3 Liverpool, a double double is still fantastic opportunity. Throw in a couple of tfs for Villa or Fulham and if confirmed, could still be good.

I think AM could be used well anytime avoiding WC/BB territory and FH GW.

Yeah, agreed. Taking hits and using transfers to set up the AM seems like you’re immediately undoing any potential point gains. I’m banking a ft and TC this week - means I have 3 transfers to build whatever dgw squad I fancy for 25, and have the flexibility to either AM or not. I don’t want to miss out on the best dgw25 players because all my transfers have been tied up in getting rid of one this week, and maybe changing manager next week etc. All team dependent though of course!

What got most potential next two gw for a hit?

    A) Slot, Wood, 2x Liv (-4)
    B) Moyes, Ndiaye, 3x Liv (-4). Might change AM next gw.

Keep in mind that LIV blanks in gw29. thats why im leaning towards alternative A and transfer out a LIV player already this round for Slow.

Most potential? I mean two home wins for Moyes would be like 30 points, bu it isnt exactly likely.

I don't think its worth taking out Gakpo for a hit if that's your plan. I would rather just not use the chip now

They aren't mutually exclusive though. Everyone on AM is still on Mo cap don't forget and his goals will contribute towards Slots points too. In reality both bets probably need each other to stand the best chance of succeeding.

Pretty annoying this late announcement about GW25.

Ultimately Slot is the best option now. Which means that those who were well prepared and already have 3 Liverpool players lose out and those who weren’t well prepared win.

          Limited ceiling?

Surely his ceiling is 5 wins with 5 clean sheets with goals added in? That’s 50 points over the 3 GWs.

Yes it’s probably unlikely that they’ll win all 5… but it’s not that far fetched to think that the team who are comfortably top of the league will beat Bournemouth, Everton, Wolves and Villa, and then you have the option of switching him out if you want before Man City.

It is definitely advantage to the under prepared.

Fine, the 5 clean sheets may have been a tad too far. But you’d expect at least a couple. So bring that 50 down to 45.

It certainly isn’t unrealistic to think you can get 5 wins. Liverpool will be heavy favourites in all those matches.

You could realistically get 40-50 points off Slot over the next 3 GWs. Probably a lot more unrealistic that you’re going to get 40-50 off Gakpo

I know that taking out Gakpo for a hit doesn't seem "right" but with those fixtures, Wissa can really get a lot of points in the next few

Framing is important here. You're justifying selling Gakpo because you already want Slot

But it's based on a second DGW that won't be guaranteed until days after you've locked in the AM chip

Gakpo isn't a good asset only because of his DGW. He's an easy hold for a long, long time. A frontline of Isak Gakpo Wissa solves multiple issues at once, while there are 19 other managers you can play the AM on in 12 other GWs

"Bird in hand", and all that

          1. Jullepuu
            • 6 Years
            10 months, 7 days ago

A frontline of Wood Wissa Isak is also solid for a long time. I also have 5 good midfielders so I can always bench the one with the worst fixture/form. You could absolutely be right on this but the "correct" play is to trust your gut. Mine says to get Slot and Wissa

          2. ebb2sparky
            • 15 Years
            10 months, 7 days ago

I don't think gakpo is an easy hold for a long time. I bought him for the Ipswich match and dgw24 with the expectation he'll be gone by gw26. I won't be selling him after 1 week though despite the AM hype.

There's definitely a double next week though. It might not be Liverpool granted but you'd just switch Slot in that case right and still get 5 fixtures.
So it's reasonable to do things you perhaps wouldn't normally to make use of this chip at what appears a good time.
People do funny things in double game weeks eg are choosing to buy Ndiaye and it's because it might pay off.

I think that could be the edge

Like Salah could score a goal or two in gw24.

But Wolves at home looks prime Salah territory and in my mind Liverpool do v well at Villa Park too.

But most will captain Salah so it's a third extra points wise.

Surely AM for 4 games in two weeks plus player points is a stronger play?
