Cunha > Wissa worth doing and needing to bench Wood or Isak or just leave it this week?

1 FT and 1.5 ITB and am not free hitting next week

    Do I:

    A) Roll
    B) Replace Cunha in case Dango/Isak etc don’t play

    Pickford
    TAA Gabriel Kerkez
    Salah Palmer Mbeumo Rogers Dango
    Isak Wood

    4.0 Robinson Greaves Cunha*

People don't wanna sell Salah and possibly not Palmer, they are going Haaland-less.

      - Regular starts at around 70-75 mins
      - cheaper alternative to Haaland into City attack
      - forward replacements are high on folks transfers
      - on most set pieces

The game v Newcastle was interesting

Haaland played as a traditional no. 9 and dropped back for winning headers and long balls from Ederson and Marmoush was running of them.

    Salahs benched

    Captain Palmer, Wood or Haaland!

    Arne Slot:

"If I make the choice to play other players, that is because I think that's the biggest chance to win the game tomorrow [Southampton], and not because I want to rest them for the game against PSG.

So the only way I make a change is because maybe it's only 2 days in between, and then I might feel that playing someone else is a better option because we have many players that are of equal quality.

But that then only has to do with us getting a bigger chance of winning the game against Southampton, than it has anything to do with the PSG game"

"The most important game is the one against Southampton, if there were 3, 4, 5 days in between the last game and this one I'd probably start the same XI again, but since there's only 2 days in between and we had to fight really hard, so you take that into account"

Still think he'll start but forgot about Salah fasting. UCL matches are after daylight hours so not an issue there but Maybe slot is tempted to give him a rest for tomorrow

Probably not just yet considering they have so few games in March. But it's coming...
And I think I'd get rid of the Szoboszlai punt if you're still on that

Surely posting deliberately misleading statements like "Salah's benched" despite the manager saying nothing of the sort is worse than the fake goal shouts which result in an auto-ban

      1. The Mentaculus
        • 4 Years

Nobody knows the team selection 26 hours in advance

            But we'll find out

Popular opinion is that he's safe and it's others that will be dropped

But that looked a fairly strong hint that there's plenty of changes

What would you do in Slot's position?

I'd be tempted to save my best player for 3 days later.

I'd start my best players and sub them off after an hour. Southampton are fighting for their lives and we've already seen how they drop stinkers whenever he rotates too much. I think the only changes from midweek would be Tsimikas and Nunez coming in for Robertson and Jota.

I reckon Szob for Elliot and Curtis Jones might start, Diaz could be benched too.

Salah is also fasting, but he tends to do pretty well in Ramadan.

But that might be another consideration.

Obviously the night game on Tuesday helps nutrition wise.

Best way to fund Haaland next week? Will have 3FT, 1.3 ITB:

    *Pickford - Vadimarsson
    TAA - *Gabriel - *Colwill - *N. Williams - *Bednarek
    Salah - *Palmer - *Mbuemo - Rogers - *Dango
    Isak - *Wood - Cunha

    A: TAA, Isak & Cunha ➡️ Doherty, Haaland & Beto (4-4-2)
    B: Palmer, Rogers & Cunha ➡️ Minteh, Nwaneri & Haaland (5-3-2)
C: Other / get Marmoush instead

I can have this team in 29
    Pickford
    Gabriel Aina Huijsen Greaves (Trent)
    Mbeumo Elanga Semenyo Ouattara (Salah)
    Haaland Strand Larsen (Isak)

    Positives:
    -No hits
    -Haaland
    -Keep Trent/Salah/Isak

    Negatives:
    -Losing Palmer
-A couple of questionable picks such as Greaves and Ouattara without any bench cover

Yes or No? I'd appreciate any thoughts.

It's an 11 but a poor 11. Why are you keeping all 3 of Trent/Salah/Isak? If its just to prevent losing TV I'd lose TAA to strengthen elsewhere (you have a max of 0.4 TV tied up in him, and you will probably be able to buy back at the 7.2 after the blank). I'd being booking at something like TAA & Greaves, to Wood & best GW29 defender you can afford, I think the hit is worth it.

Going contrarian with BB28 and will then FH29.

Which is the best combo for 28 & 30 only?

    a) Nkunku, Darwin
    b) Nkunku, Marmoush
    c) Eze, Evanilson
    d) Nkunku, Evanilson
    e) other

    1. Crunchie

I already own Sarr, but I think I'm down to C or D. I purposely left out the defender to see what people said, but what if include that. Then it's

        c) Eze, Evanilson, Konaté
        d) Nkunku, Evanilson, Muñoz

I could also go D but woth Konaté, which would let me upgrade Raul to Mateta if he's back in 30.

Yes not sure yet on fhè9.

Have Gapko Salah Trent Hall Munoz Mateta

If Gapko trains today I may FH but if not then

I will do Hall to Forest next week defender. Wood this week, and roll. Probably Trent to Gvardiol. Palmer to Minteh or Elanga. Isak to Haaland. But could to Dango to Minteh and Isak to Marmoush.

AM 31 to 33 BB36 with Glasner all the way through WC35. or WC31 BB32 and FH 33. And play AM last few game wees.

    A) Roll
    B) Harwood Bellis > Ait Nouri

    Sels
    TAA, Timber, Kerkez
    Salah, Palmer, Mbeumo, Kluivert
    Beto, Isak, Wood

    (Fabianski, Rogers, Robinson, HB)

Roll and do B next week (as not sure you’d play AN over your current starters this week anyway?)

I would actually play him ahead of Kerkez

    Similar to some questions above,

    A. Hold Gakpo and hope he plays (Dango first on bench)
    B. Gakpo > Wissa for free (which I was going to do next week anyway)

I'd do B tbh.. Wissa vs this Villa defence(after Europe as well) could be very good.

Are you taking hits next week or accepting blanks because by my count you have 6 out next week if you take into account non players / injuries / blankers

    1FT and 2.2ITB, will be FH29:

    Henderson
    Gabriel TAA Van Hecke
    Palmer Salah Kluivert Rogers Mitoma
    Wood Isak

    Fabianski Cunha* Hall* O'Shea

    a) Hall out (Kerkez?) and bench Van Hecke
    b) Cunha out and bench Wood
    c) Roll

If we're still none the wiser on Isak after Howe's presser....who to start

    A - Isak
    B - Dango

Still A I think - I reckon he either plays or gets no minutes
