The 2024/25 UEFA Champions League (UCL) returns on Tuesday with Matchday 12 – and so does the competition’s official Fantasy game.

Here, Ed, another one of our resident European football doyens and a co-host of the official UCL Fantasy podcast, drops by to give us his team reveal.

Another small red arrow came for me in Matchday 11, even though I pulled off a quadruple Inter clean sheet. But I once again didn’t get captaincy right and that has been the difference between this thoroughly average season and what would have been deemed a good one. Still, six Matchdays are remaining and there’s lots of rank to gain.

    I'll be BBing in GW30 and am not fussed about OR. Just focussing on MLs

    Also tempted to bring in Marmoush instead of Evanilson but will look for leaks closer to deadline.

      1) I really like it for the next few weeks, I would have a plan to bring back Isak (and maybe Mateta as well) for his double in GW32 however

      2) Prefer Evanilson to Marmoush regardless of Marmoush starting personally

      Why are you WCing in 29?
      Im asking because Im also considering doinn it earlier in 29 than 30,31. The proponents to wait argue that we still dont have the best weeks for FH and BB to organise our WC. But I think it will look more or less like this again.

        Exactly what you're saying tbh. I don't think my team now will be too dissimilar to what it'll be if I WC 30/21 (obviously I'll be bringing Isak / Newc players in for the doubles).

        It's a chance for me to get a bit of an advantage in my MLs and I need to take risks given my rank

          Tbh i like it. I also need to do something proactive. Eversince I TC Salah in 24 it feels like my team goes gradually down.

          Why did you decide Sa instead of Areola? Do you plan to rotate your GKs?

          I like the midfielders choice. Just not sure if Evanilson is ready. I see he hasnt played a lot of time

    Pretty much set on losing Salah (over Palmer) to fund Haaland...can reassess whether to bring Salah back in on WC31, will lose 0.6m on Salah..but 50% chance I don't take Salah on WC.

    Essentially, which combo would you prefer over gw29/gw30

    A: Castagne (only gw29, TAA in gw30) + Semenyo + Palmer
    B: Gvardiol + Kluivert + Palmer (-4)
    C: Castagne (only gw29, Salah in gw30) + RAN + Semenyo (-4)

      Hall to Neco much better. Marmoush may not play and you will lose Isak value. Hall can’t play again this season. Williams will likely rise in value and stay in your team for a bench boost.

    Really struggling to plan without Crellin's D/BGW predictor sheet. Is this a reasonable strategy?

    GW29: Play 9-10 players. Save a FT or two because I'm not keen on any players
    GW30-32: Buy players who double in GW32 (CPL, NEW) and players who don't blank in GW33
    DGW32: Should have Isak, Munoz, Gordon, maybe Mateta
    DGW33: FH in 11+ players with DGW
    BGW34: Buy another player or two if needed
    GW35: WC players in for the final stretch
    DGW36: BB
    BGW37: Use all FTs to improve team for the final 2 GWs

    Any decent resources you can point me to that help visualise the blanks and doubles, perhaps even with probabilities included? FFS is unsurprisingly not very good at this kind of thing even though it should be their bread and butter. Completely lost on this site.

    1. Double nfo defense( already have sels), and Wood and make him captain as everyone ahead of me in my league already have him
    2. Mazroui and Bruno and make him captain
    3. Gvardiol and Gibbs-white probably have to captain Mbuemo or palmer
    4. Nfo defenders and Gibbs-white and probably captain mbuemo or palmer
    5. Nfo defender and Kuivert and make him captain
    6. Anything else

      I would sell Watkins and Rogers. Higher upside than bringing in a defender. Definitely bring in Wood and then pick someone fun to replace Rogers.

        Yes - Sarr from CP - so could play with 10 in 29 and keep Sarr for Southampton in 30 and limit hit to -4.

      Good options if you're going to either keep some of them or go to Wildcard. Ait Nouri is a good option for a few weeks, so should be a keeper, and Fabianski and Hall are dead weights in your team for the rest of the season. Sarr, on the other hand, will probably be someone you want back quite quickly.

    IMO if you want Erling Braut Haaland it is best saved for a WC that way you can get all players involved in coming up with the funds to afford him.. If this makes sense to anyone.
