The 2024/25 UEFA Champions League (UCL) returns on Tuesday with Matchday 12 – and so does the competition’s official Fantasy game.

Ahead of the deadline, we’ve got a team reveal from Louis (FPL Reactions), our resident European football expert who co-hosts the official UCL Fantasy podcast.

FPL price change predictions: Who will rise + fall on March 6?

Liverpool’s Alisson Becker (€6.0m) was well worth his price-tag last week against Paris Saint-Germain, after securing a 12-point haul. I’m not expecting a similar return this time but wouldn’t be surprised if he kept another clean sheet.

If not, I’ll likely bring Gregor Kobel (€5.0m) in from the bench. Although I’m slightly nervous about the Dortmund defence this week, it’s going to be very tough for them away at Lille.

DEFENDERS

UCL Fantasy Matchday 11: FPL Reactions’ team reveal 1

I currently have double Inter defence via Alessandro Bastoni (€5.4m) and Denzel Dumfries (€5.5m). Not only do I think the Italian side will keep another clean sheet but they’ll very likely progress to the next round due to their 2-0 advantage.

Leverkusen have recently been out of sorts and obviously lacking luck. Whilst they’re a very strong side at home, I think it’s unlikely that they’ll overturn a 3-0 deficit. So I’m not massively hopeful of a Alejandro Grimaldo (€5.8m) return.

Meanwhile, I backed Arsenal’s Gabriel (€5.5m) to keep at least one clean sheet during the two legs against PSV Eindhoven. I still think it’s possible but can’t say the same about Dortmund’s Nico Schlotterbeck (€5.0m), who faces a fiery Lille side that is more than capable of scoring at home.

Kinda stuck here, 5FTs but not sure how to proceed. Confirmed transfers are: Mateta & Palmer —> Haaland & Kluivert, however I don’t have a playing GK (even though don’t see any good ones for gw29). Also the Dango problem but for who? Plan is to WC31/32

The lack of exciting options up front is limiting. And getting a defender is also not too exciting.
    Where do you guys land?

With midfielders starting this GW, except Salah, nothing there either tempts.

I feel Move mateta for a striker, or Trent to Gvardiol is my decision.

Hallo. Thoughts on my planned transfers?? Things not looking as good for Haaland, Nwaneri or Dango since I made the plan...

    Trent + Rogers + Cunha > 4.4* + Nwaneri + Haaland

    Pickford (Fabianski)
    Timber Kerkez Williams (Trent Keane)
    Palmer Mbuemo Dango (Salah Rogers)
    Raul (Isak Cunha**)

    3FT. 4.4 ITB

*4.4 defender could be Mykolenko (4.4), Mazraoui (4.3), Scarles (4.0) or Cresswell (3.9). Who would you pick?

What have you seen from Haaland that convinced you to buy him? 16 touches last game, slow and uninterested.

      1. Deulofail
        • 9 Years
        15 days, 5 mins ago

I'm leaning a bt more toward Evanilson now, but struggling to spend my money. One reason for buying Haaland is that I can, and while keeping Salah, Palmer and Isak as well, which could give me an edge if Haaland and Palmer get into first gear, at least. Big if, maybe.

Haaland has scored braces with fewer touches enough times and hattricks with around 16 touches at least a couple times. I'd say he's known, more than anybody else in the prem, for scoring with few touches, for being quiet and even seemingly disinterested, before popping up with the much-needed difference.

Sure it's not the obvious move, given City and his form, but he's still been ticking over and Brighton and Leicester at home could be feasts. Forest are a different proposition. Before that game, he was getting his normal touch rate, even compared to times when goals are flowing for him.

I think that's enough of an allure given the obvious alternatives for me involve keeping up to 9m in the bank with no obvious plan to use the money in the coming weeks 😀

All that said, I think I'm not going for him anymore, mostly because I'm less keen on Nwaneri than I was, and I might want to upgrade Dango as well.

Which transfers look better? WC next week

    a) Greaves & Isak > Aina & Wood
    b) Dango & Isak > Kluivert & Wood
    c) Palmer & Isak > Kluivert & Haaland
    d) TAA & Dango & Isak > Aina & Bruno & Wood (-4)

    Would play Greaves b & c. Would play Dango a & c

    1. Jässi

      1. Fuddled FC
        • 13 Years

        Actually I could go

        e) Dango & Isak > Bruno & Evan

        1. Deulofail
          • 9 Years
          15 days, 1 hour ago

          E) Bruno + Evanilson + Palmer + Greaves

          E > A
          E < B (but pretty much equal)
          E > C
          E < D (but pretty much equal)

          D > E > B > C > A

    2. Deulofail
      • 9 Years
      15 days, 1 hour ago

      So

      A) Aina + Wood + Palmer + Dango
      B) Kluivert + Wood + Palmer + Greaves
      C) Kluivert + Haaland + Dango + Greaves
      D) Aina + Wood + Palmer + Bruno (-4)

Based purely on points this GW, I would say:

      D > A
      D > B (but pretty much equal)
      D > C
      B > C (but pretty much equal)
      B > A
      C > A (but pretty much equal)

      Contractory subjective assessment suggests the priority: D > B > C > A

Strange because I thought A looked pretty solid on first glance 😀

Am wildcarding in GW31 but for a two week punt I'm considering taking
    Isak, Palmer & Trent out
    and replacing with:
Haaland, Gibbs-White and Murillo for a -4 hit.

Or Option B - Take out Hall and Mateta and bring in Murillo and Jiminez or Evanlison

Thoughts on this bench boost for gw30?

    Sa (WHM)
    Ait Nouri (WHM)
    Mbeumo (New)
    N Williams (MUN)

I played wc in 28 as my team was a mess. Im well set for 29. Keen to get BB done as close to 28 as possible, before anyone gets injured!

Alternative is to work towards BB32, but that will probably involve spending a transfer on Pope (already have Henderson), which feels like a waste at this point in the season.

    Thoughts?

Thoughts on TAA, Isak & Cunha to Agbadou, Haaland & Evanilson, with potentially Dango to CHO for a (-4)?

Which moves look best here please?

    Sels (Allison)
    Aina Gabriel Greaves (Trent Munoz)
    Mbuemo Kluivert Nwanieri Dango (Salah)
    Haaland Wood (Isak)

    A) Allison + Munoz to Areloa + Gvardiol (Munoz comes back in 30 for Aina)
    B) Dango + Trent to Savinho + Gvardiol

Waste of 2 transfers on Munoz and you have a playing GK in Sels this GW, downgrade TAA instead of Alisson

Thanks, when you put it like that it makes a lot of sense. I just love Trent as a differential, albeit he's not had a huge amount of points over other defenders.

Neither has Gvardiol actually. Perhaps Kerkez is the way to go. But I like the Leicester fixture

Bradley expected back after IB and the league close to being wrapped up, I wouldn't rule out an increase in mins for Bradley

          Also dependant on UCL progression

I wouldn't do A as Tony as stated.
I've done B because I think it's got more potential upside even with city being in poor form .

Thanks, yeah a shame that the Dango move a few weeks ago didn't work out

Option A: Fabianski, Rogers and Watkins to Sa, Fernandes and Evanilson (10 players incl. Dango):

    Sa
    Hujisen Neco Gabriel
    Palmer, Fernandes, Mbeumo, Dango
    Wood, Evanilson

    Henderson, TAA, Munoz, Salah, Isak

Option B: TAA, Palmer and Watkins to Doherty, Fernandes and Haaland (9 players incl. Dango):

    ...
    Hujsen, Neco, Gabriel, Doherty
    Fernandes, Mbeumo, Dango
    Haaland, Wood

    Option C: Option B + Rogers to Elanga/Hudson-Odoi for -4 (10 players incl.Dango)

    Thanks

    Which path do you prefer:

    A. Ait Nouri and keep Dango -4
    B. Agbadou and Semenyo in for Dango -8

Other players in are Haaland and Evanilsson. Selling Watkins Isak and TAA.

    Thanks

    Question, without interneting the answer!

Who are the only two premier league teams so far, who have not scored a penalty this season?

All good answers, and 69 is correct.

Looks like Salah leads the way with 9
Where as Haaland is on 1

Strange how it feels like Cunha should have at least couple, but apparently not

I was 100% certain on Wolves as I knew they haven't been awarded any pens this season and still a minor debate with Cunha v Sarabia on pens.

I picked Southampton but not for the right reason. I thought they haven't been awarded any pens either but didn't know they missed both pens.

    Eliteserien anybody?

Provides a welcome diversion for those whose FPL season is effectively over.

Hoping The Mentaculus will provide guidance again to the non Norwegian football experts amongst us - plus of course some translations into English when required.

Looked at trying to do a GW29 wildcard a few times

Could work if you got lucky with the cup results i.e. Bournemouth beating Man City and Brighton beating Forest. Think the latter result could definitely happen

I wildcarded last year in GW28 before the cup results and it worked a treat, but much harder to do this year. So looks like I’ll be taking a
-4/-8, I’ve only taken one hit all season

FH chip will be a good backup option, assuming you still have it, if the cup results don't go as you predicted.

I've taken no hits this season and likely take 1 or 2 but haven't ruled out WC29

Yes, that’s certainly true. Only issue is the bench boost

There could be a scenario where the only teams that double in 33 are Man City, Villa and Fulham, which would be bad for those who wildcarded early

Man City are easy to load up on but Villa would have a tough double with CL around the time also and Fulham would just rest players against Southampton, before their cup semi final

        Not easy to navigate
