Gameweek 33 of Fantasy Premier League (FPL) will, as expected, be a ‘double’.

Four teams will play twice in this round of matches, with the following fixtures added to the 10 already in place:

  • Manchester City v Aston Villa (originally in Gameweek 34, which clashes with the semi-finals of the FA Cup)
  • Arsenal v Crystal Palace (originally in Gameweek 34, which clashes with the semi-finals of the FA Cup)

The other key takeaway from Thursday’s fixture announcement is that Nottingham Forest v Brentford will stay in Gameweek 34, by moving to the midweek after it.

Forest and Brentford will now not blank in Gameweek 34 as a result.

GAMEWEEK 33: THE DOUBLES

  • Arsenal: ips + CRY
  • Aston Villa: NEW + mci
  • Crystal Palace: BOU + ars
  • Manchester City: eve + AVL

Arsenal’s double is the pick of the bunch, at least on paper.

Ipswich Town earned their first Premier League win of 2025 on Wednesday, but performances over the season have been poor, and they currently sit in the relegation zone, nine points from safety. A home clash against Crystal Palace follows.

It could be an idea to Triple Captain Bukayo Saka (£10.3m), then, who took just seven minutes of his comeback appearance on Tuesday to get back on the scoresheet.

Meanwhile, Oliver Glasner’s side now have a unique schedule, with back-to-back ‘doubles’ in Gameweeks 32 and 33, followed by a Blank Gameweek 34. A perfect opportunity, you’d think, for those FPL managers who still have the Assistant Manager chip burning a hole in their pockets.

For Manchester City and Aston Villa, who are both in the race for Champions League qualification, it’s a potentially tricky set of ‘doubles’, with clashes against Everton and Newcastle United respectively preceding their Etihad showdown.

This extra fixture in Gameweek 33 only adds to the congestion for Unai Emery’s side, too:

  • Saturday 5 April: Nottingham Forest (h) – Gameweek 31
  • Wednesday 9 April: Paris Saint-Germain (a) – Champions League quarter-finals
  • Saturday 12 April: Southampton (a) – Gameweek 32
  • Tuesday 15 April: Paris Saint-Germain (h) – Champions League quarter-finals
  • Saturday 19 April: Newcastle United (h) – Gameweek 33
  • Tuesday 22 April: Manchester City (a) – Gameweek 33
  • Saturday 26/Sunday 27 April: Crystal Palace (n) – FA Cup semi-finals

We’ll have more reaction to the Double Gameweek 33 announcement in the coming days.

That's quite big news - I was really loading up on forest players and that makes a big difference. And now I've scuppered chance of using assistant manager as I've triggered the wildcard (don't want it clashing with free hit in gw34).

So...has to be bb 33, FH 34 and assistant manager later

Damn I was hoping that Palace would double in GW33, even if we got to the final 3 games this week, then travel to Manchester and Newcastle, after looking tired last night, then Bournemouth Arsenal, ok both in London.

I know Glasner is trying to do both qualify in the league and FACup, I am not sure we will have the squad depth up front anyway.

May wc31 AM 32 to 34 or BB 32 and play AM later.

      Team ATM

      Raya Fabs
      Gvardiol Hudjsen Munoz (Myko Hall).
      Salah Palmer Mbeumo Sarr (Kluivert)
      Isak Marmoush Mateta

No FH(played 29) AM left BB left WC left

      1FT 1.3 it

Hall to Livramento and Murphy for a hit this week.

Play Glasner 32 and 33 Palmer to Saka 33 Maybe Saliba WC34 Not sure to AM in 31 yet, results couldn't have been worse)

Or WC now, BB32 have 11 doublers 33 less transfers and use AM transfers later

It was the plan to stick him on Brighton but yes. But we may rotate against Arsenal a bit more.

Before Saints we just did a premier League record of 6 cs away from home

        Will never last for ever.

        But for sure yes

I haven't seen bonus teams this week or gw34 , so I will either WC this week, to play through GW 34 and play Assman next week, (with one FT I don't need a WC but I would need a couple of hits) I did that last week from Darwin and Trent to Marmoush and Gvardiol and WC 34. Or WC now AM 34 and just hit the bench boost whenever I can.

I will on Glasner though. A couple of 0 0 draws against Arsenal and someone else I can see happening

Brentford are home to Chelsea. I’m tempted by Frank GW31->Glasner 32/33. Slightly different circumstances as I have used WC (30) and still have FH to deal with 34

Well if top 5 get champions league, 6 gets Europa, and 7 gets conference then they really can go for European spots?

Currently 8 points of 7th with a game in hand. 10 points of 5th. Be difficult but it’s definitely not giving up territory with how varied results have been for that 4-12th bracket this season

Yeah, I suppose I just disagree. Didn’t play well yesterday, but I think Glasner and the players will believe they can climb to at least 7th.

Until yesterday, their form was 7 wins /11 in the league (2 draws). 3 wins in the last 3 before Sou. Obviously they smashed Fulham in the cup.

I think it’s more likely that yesterday was a blip and their recent form indicates they are pushing for Europe still.

We should have in retrospective rotated more than try and keep the run of the team going. We were knackered. .

They had one chance one goal. Henderson was a little late down. Mateta is getting fitter. He should have scored in the 2nd and 36th minutes. Thought the 2nd was in.

We looked out of puff. Chilwell is awful but Kamada franca, so nice to see him score. Esse maybe should have got minutes. Devenny definitely. Eze Lerma Munoz Wharton were so so tired. Hughes was suspended. Think Mateta should have started and Nketiah should have done better in the last 30.

We have a England 721 right back. He should have started too and Munoz got a break.

After the Lord Mayor's Show rather than on the beach

            No not against Brighton.

Munoz i worry about this week only. Hughes for Wharton Lerma. Doucoure is out or could be Kamada, i dont think he have much choice with Eze and Sarr. Mateta could be, Waiting for press conference.

Wondering whether to use Gabriel injury to raise funds to bring in Savinho (alongside Marmoush and Gvardiol) - or even Rashford - for GW33. But so hard to read Pep. And actually not inclined to do anything if possible till then because of injury risk to others (have loaded up for GW32/33 on GW30 wildcard). Likely to wait for a bit.

Hopefully White, Timber, Saliba and Skelly will be the backline

        Kiwior is poor

Not much option elsewhere If you want doublers and already own 1 from Man City & Aston Villa.

And If you're using your AM on Glasner.

Those of you like me, who have just played your WC's and still have BB, AM and FH remaining... What are your plans?

Will there be doubles on 36?

Quite possibly, with 37 set to be a blank for FA cup finalists and their opponents

          A small one apparently.

And 37 is apparently a small blank also.

Further to being substituted during our match against Fulham on Tuesday, we can confirm that Gabriel Magalhaes has sustained a hamstring injury which requires surgery.

Gabi will undergo a surgical repair procedure to his hamstring in the coming days, and immediately begin his recovery and rehabilitation programme, with the aim to be ready for the start of next season.

So 33 is best time to BB?

There aren't enough doubles to load up to state 33 is a better time than say 32 to use BB

Larger, no but there will likely be another double due to FAC final clashing with GW37 so potentially 4 teams doubling

37 could be a bit messy to navigate without transfers

I’d prefer to use it on Saka but I also much prefer bench boost in 33

I'd wait for an update on Isak's fitness before making that call, but it also depends on overall chip strategy.
