Newcastle United host Crystal Palace in the final match of Double Gameweek 32.

Kick-off at St James’ Park is at 19:30 BST.

The hosts are without head coach Eddie Howe, who is recovering from pneumonia. Assistant Manager Jason Tindall is standing in for him in the dugout and names an unchanged line-up.

Harvey Barnes, who is the highest-scoring outfield player of Gameweek 32 so far (15 points), continues on the left, so Anthony Gordon is again a substitute.

Alexander Isak, who has been Triple Captained by 412,981 Fantasy managers, leads the line hoping to add to his current tally of five points.

As for Palace, JeanPhilippe Mateta starts despite Oliver Glasner criticising his performance in the 5-2 defeat at Manchester City.

The Austrian has made two changes from that clash, with Marc Guehi, who missed out on Saturday due to suspension, and Will Hughes coming in for Adam Wharton and Daichi Kamada. They are both on the bench.

LINE-UPS

Newcastle United XI: Pope, Trippier, Schar, Burn, Livramento, Tonali, Guimaraes, Joelinton, Murphy, Barnes, Isak

Subs: Dubravka, Wilson, Gordon, Targett, Krafth, Osula, Willock, Longstaff, Miley

Crystal Palace XI: Henderson, Richards, Lacroix, Guehi, Munoz, Hughes, Lerma, Mitchell, Sarr, Eze, Mateta

Subs: Turner, Nketiah, Franca, Clyne, Kamada, Wharton, Esse, Chilwell, Devenny

Arsenal conceding 1 goal against Madrid in 180 mins bodes well for CS prospects for the DGW 😎

Think I will go Rice over a second defender or Raya.

There has been few standout players for Ballon d’Or this year.

    Salah
    Raphina
    Dembele

Can’t believe I’m saying this but if Arsenal win the CL, and that’s a big if, would Rice be in contention?

Football as a sport is truly dead if Rice gets anywhere it

Rice is not the ultimate fantasy asset but what a player. I remember some walloper on here 6 months ago arguing with me that Kobi Maineoo was light years ahead of him.ŵ

There’s a lot to like about this place and the ‘FPL community’ but it’s a sign that the game has warped people’s minds when they conflate a player’s FPL value with his actual ability as a player in real life. Some are unable to view the game without the FPL goggles on

I think some people who play this game don't even like football that much, they just like the concept of the game.

Buzz makes quite a good point. I have some mates who know so much about football compared to me, but they always used to pick the wrong players in FPL. They learned over the years and fixed things, but it took them ages to realise what makes a player a good pick in FPL. Its pretty simple though, points.

Know what you mean. I love actual football - and a lot of my work involves it - but it’s taken years for me to learn to divorce that part of my brain from my FPL brain. It can inform it but they’re two very different things

Yea. Even now, it still catches me out at times. Its probably just an eye test issue, stat watching will filter it out now I think about it.

Young Rice at 18 playing for hammers on 3k a week was light years ahead of Maineoo.. hammer of the year 4 out of 6 & as captain led them to euros trophy, he has been underrated since his headline freekicks but world class before he was 21
