In this article, we will have a look at my current Free Hit team for Gameweek 34.

Most of the squad will have a familiar ring to it, so rather than waffle on about Mohamed Salah (£13.8m) and Alexander Isak (£9.5m), I’ll instead focus the majority of my words on a few other players I like, who I haven’t seen in quite so many RMT’s.

JARROD BOWEN

West Ham United haven’t been great from an attacking perspective under Graham Potter.

But in light of the opposition, I fancy Jarrod Bowen (£7.5m) to do well this weekend.

Brighton and Hove Albion have conceded 13 goals in their last five matches and will be without influential centre-back Jan Paul van Hecke (£4.5m), who is undergoing concussion protocols.

Fabian Hurzeler opted for Carlos Baleba (£5.0m) as an emergency centre-back the last time he missed out, and while he did pretty well, it was a poor overall performance by the Seagulls, with relegated Leicester City scoring twice and grabbing a rare point.

As for Bowen, he’s ticked along since returning from injury, with four goals and two assists in 10 starts, but I think he’s capable of hauling tomorrow, given how Brighton were picked apart on the counter-attack by Brentford last week.

In fact, only Leicester have conceded more counter-attack shots over the last five Gameweeks than Brighton, which could play into the hands of Bowen at the Amex.

Above: Teams sorted by counter-attack shots conceded in Gameweeks 29-33

I'm coming round to thinking Sa on FH seems an unnecessary risk. He missed the last game due to a back issue which could flare up and subbed pre 60 mins

What about -8 ? It will only technically be -2 for the extra and could be worth it if you choose a player with a decent point ceiling - would much rather that and play 10 and save FH for when no one has it. Of course it also depends on the 9 you’re fielding 😀

Thrash my FH team - I am top of my money leagues and want to keep it that way

    Alisson (Sanchez)
    Cucu VVD RAN (Millenkovic Kerkez)
    Palmer Barnes Salah Murphy (Iwobi)
    Cunha Isak Wood

Open to Wood changes but also they need to win to keep Top 4 so taking a punt.. My other options are Jiminez Evanlison or Jackson

    Cheers!

How risky are the following to start and play at least 60?

1.) TAA - arguably deserves to start ahead of Bradley, having contributed more towards the the title.

2.) Sessegnon - as Neale highlighted, Fulham were winning 1-0 when he got subbed off on 78mins having got an assist. Went on to lose 2-1.

3.) Barnes - arguably in better form than even Murphy, would be harsh to bench him (have Isak and Murphy)

Right now all three are in my team, are there any you would remove or worth chasing the upside?

            Slot on Bradley and Trent:

“Unfortunately for him, there is also another full back who is world class at this club as well with Trent Alexander-Arnold.

That is probably the only reason he hasn’t played back to back to back-to-back games yet because he definitely has the quality to do so.

That might be his next step, but as long as Trent is here, it’s going to be a difficult step for him to make as well. But they are both very good full-backs.”

To me that implies Trent starts, and it would be harsh to not start him imo, done more for the trophy than Bradley

    4. PapaWengzz
      • 6 Years

TAA not a massive deal IMO. Spurs find a way to Nick a goal..there’s way too much fuss about this player when we have so many great options this week. Id say even when guaranteed 90 mins, Cucurella probably outscores him, and Sessegnon is the biggest upside pick for risk v reward.

      1. PapaWengzz
        • 6 Years

Not sold on trent personally, spurs have scored 6 goals in their last 3 games. I would pick trippier and Raul if you also have Murphy, otherwise would definitely want a 2nd Newcastle attacker as well.

        1. FPLAnon
          • 1 Year
          1 year, 2 months ago

True, but Ipswich often find the back of the net and Newcastle just conceded 4 goals to Villa.

Murphy is a lock for me, its just trying to decide between Trippier and Barnes. I do worry Barnes could be the highest scoring player this week. More scared of him than Trippier.

I get the doubts with Trent, but if decide to go without Trippier he is not a bad replacement. It is tough, Raul could do well instead of Barnes but his recent form is concerning, 0.01 xG in his last game having played 83 mins

Worth a hit for Ran? Don't have a full squad.

Depends who else you dont have. There are other players who might be more worth the hit

Is Bowen a good differential on FH?
Would mean I have Raul on bench.

Palmer - Salah - Diaz - Bowen - Murphy as my mids

    Cunha - Isak up top
