With the first international break of the 2025/26 season finally behind us, it’s time to finalise our Scout Picks.

We considered the Scout Squad submissions made by Neale (Editor), Tom (Deputy Editor), Sam (General Manager) and Marc (Staff Writer) before coming up with our final team.

As ever, there are certain restrictions for our picks:

  • An £83.0m budget for our starting XI
  • An overall squad limit of £100.0m
  • No more than three players per team

GAMEWEEK 4 SCOUT PICKS

GOALKEEPER

3m team news:

Due to the lack of convincing £4.5m goalkeepers on offer in Gameweek 4, we’ve opted for Nick Pope (£5.0m) as Newcastle United prepare to host Wolverhampton Wanderers. Pope has already picked up 18 points this season, aided by two clean sheets in three matches. During this period, Newcastle have conceded only 1.58 expected goals (xG), which is the lowest tally in the league. As for Wolves, Vitor Pereira’s men are the only top-flight team yet to pick up a point this season. They will also be without Jorgen Strand Larsen (£6.4m) for the trip to St James’ Park.

Is Richarlison is option? Are his minutes nailed enough for the next few gws? Or when will Solanke or Kolo Muani be ready to start?

I'm surprised people stuck with Strand Larsen when he was taken off early in game 1 and had all that strapping on his foot. I guess it makes sense if they were just looking at models and not even watching clips of the matches.

People just roll and follow content creators who are obsessed with xMins/pens etc but stick with deadwood in their own teams too long.

Quite happy with my WC team now.

A slight concern is that I have left 2.9M to take out Mateta for Isak once he gets more time, but if he goes up by even 0.1M it will price me out as thats the exact funds I have.

    Raya (Dubravka)
Curu | VVD | Munoz (Esteve, Rodon)
Semenyo | Gakpo | Enzo | Grealish (King)
    Haaland | Mateta | Pedro

In that case, get Lacroix instead of Munoz.

His DC points over the season will probably be close to matching Munoz's attacking returns in any case.

    Gakpo and Porro
    Or
    Wirtz and Van De Ven

Defence will be quite heavy with VVD, Gabriel, Munoz, Senesi and the Spurs player so he will be part of the defensive rotation.
