Plenty of key team news awaits us as many as 13 Premier League managers face the media ahead of Friday’s Gameweek 7 deadline.

There are 11 press conferences already scheduled and hopefully quotes to come from Oliver Glasner and Unai Emery, whose sides were in action last night.

As ever, we’ll be bringing you the latest key team news updates in this ‘live’ article. Keep checking back throughout the day for the latest updates.

For the headline updates from Thursday’s seven other pressers, click here.

GAMEWEEK 7: KEY INJURY UPDATES FROM FRIDAY’S PRESSERS

FRIDAY’S PRESS CONFERENCE TIMES

ARSENAL

Medium-to-long-term absentees Noni Madueke (knee), Kai Havertz (knee) and Gabriel Jesus (knee) remain unavailable, while Piero Hincapie (groin) won’t recover in time for Saturday’s game.

The big team news question of the week, of course, concerns Gabriel Magalhaes.

He was flattened by his own goalkeeper and subsequently taken off after treatment in Wednesday’s win over Olympiacos.

Mikel Arteta said after full-time that he thought Gabriel was going to be okay, even referencing a different “kick” to the clobbering David Raya gave him.

On Friday, predictably, there wasn’t much of an update.

”Yes, well, we’ll have to wait and see after training… see how everybody is, but we weren’t too concerned about him.” – Mikel Arteta when asked to confirm his midweek prognosis of Gabriel

”Mm-hmm, yeah.” – Mikel Arteta when pressed again if his initial outlook of not being too concerned about Gabriel remains the same

LIVERPOOL

Alisson (hamstring) will miss the trip to Chelsea after suffering a muscular injury in midweek.

Arne Slot didn’t have an exact timeline on the Brazilian goalkeeper but said he expected him to miss the next two Gameweeks, and the internationals in between, at the very least.

“That depends also on how fast a recovery goes. So, Saturday it’s clear, he’s not going to play for Brazil, and I would be surprised if he would be there in the first game after the international break.

“But from there on, sometimes things can go a bit faster or a bit slower. It’s always difficult to say the amount of days and weeks, but for the upcoming games he will not be part of us or the Brazil team.” – Arne Slot on Alisson

Media reports suggest Alisson could be out until after the November international break.

As for Hugo Ekitike, he too seemed to strain his hamstring in the second half of Tuesday’s game in Turkey but thought it was just “cramp”.

He will train and be assessed along with Federico Chiesa, who sat out the UEFA Champions League loss to Galatasaray with a “little niggle”.

“Hugo is going to train today again and let’s see where he is, and the same can be said for Federico. We have to wait and see after the session where exactly they are.” – Arne Slot

Giovanni Leoni (ACL) is out for the season.

CHELSEA

Enzo Maresca didn’t go too much into specifics when asked about the Chelsea team news on Friday.

“Cole is still out. We have Trev [Chalobah] suspended. We have seven or eight players out.” – Enzo Maresca

He also couldn’t give us much of an update on Cole Palmer’s recovery from a groin injury.

“I don’t have any update at the moment. We have a meeting this week to see how it is.” – Enzo Maresca

Aside from Palmer, the Blues continue to be without Tosin Adarabioyo (calf), Wesley Fofana (concussion), Levi Colwill (knee), Dario Essugo (thigh) and Liam Delap (hamstring.

Andriy Santos (unspecified) has been added to the injury list in the last few days.

Mykhailo Mudryk and Trevoh Chalobah are suspended.

Facundo Buonanotte is back, at least, having been ineligible to feature in Gameweek 6.

Maresca said earlier this week that Joao Pedro and Moises Caicedo are battling with “small problems”, although both featured on Tuesday in the Champions League.

MANCHESTER CITY

After missing the win over Burnley on Saturday, Rodri (knee) made a very swift return to action for Wednesday’s draw with Monaco.

Pep Guardiola confirmed after full-time that he came through his hour-long run-out unscathed.

”We’ll train this afternoon but it looks good, everybody finished without any problems. Yeah, fine.” – Pep Guardiola

Omar Marmoush (knee), Rayan Ait-Nouri (ankle), Abdudokir Khusanov (unknown) and Rayan Cherki (thigh) are expected to remain out until after the international break.

NEWCASTLE UNITED

Tino Livramento, who picked up a knee injury in Gameweek 6, will be out for up to eight weeks.

“He went to see a specialist a couple of days ago because the scan initially looked better than we initially thought it was. The specialist confirmed it is an eight-week injury, roughly.

“It is a ligament injury and that’s why it will take time to recover. He’s already had a couple of injections in the ligament to strengthen it up.” – Eddie Howe on Tino Livramento

Yoane Wissa (knee) remains sidelined until after the October international break, with his return date pushed back slightly.

“Yoane saw a specialist again yesterday for a check-up on his knee. We probably think now it’ll be eight weeks rather than six [from the point of the injury]. It’s no recurrence or problem, just slightly longer.” – Eddie Howe on Yoane Wissa, via Hayters

There is better news elsewhere as Jacob Ramsey (ankle) has recovered ahead of schedule and will be in the squad this weekend.

Fabian Schar (concussion) returned from a head injury for Wednesday’s win in Belgium.

The Magpies have no fresh concerns from midweek.

NOTTINGHAM FOREST

There were no new team news quotes in the broadcast section of Ange Postecoglou’s presser on Friday.

But the Nottingham Post later reported a quote on Murillo (knock) fitness after he was forced off early in his comeback game on Thursday.

”He just fell awkwardly and hurt his back, it seemed like. I think it was the first header he went up for and he just couldn’t move. It wasn’t even related to the previous injury.

“We’ll see. It was a different knock last night. He only had 20 minutes against Arsenal and similar last night, so it was disappointing to lose him.

“He actually trained this morning and he looked okay, so I’m not really sure. We’ll wait and see.” – Ange Postecoglou on Murillo

Oleksandr Zinchenko (groin), Ola Aina (hamstring) and Douglas Luiz (hamstring) are on the injury list.

TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR

Dominic Solanke (ankle) has undergone surgery this week and remains out for the foreseeable future.

“Dom was a minor procedure, it went well. The timeframe, we will know more when we come back from the internationals.” – Thomas Frank

Randal Kolo Muani (dead leg) also remains sidelined but is at least back on the grass.

“Kolo Muani has been on the pitch the last two days so that is very positive.” – Thomas Frank

Radu Dragusin (knee), James Maddison (knee) and Dejan Kulusevski (knee) are still unavailable, too.

In better news, Cristian Romero, who sat out the trip to Bodo/Glimt on Tuesday as a precaution, is fit and will start, according to Thomas Frank.

“Romero is fit and available and will start tomorrow. That is promising news. That was contact to the foot and the medical did a good job to get that turned around.” – Thomas Frank

Yves Bissouma (unspecified) and Koto Takai (foot) are back in training, too.

MANCHESTER UNITED

Ruben Amorim’s press conference was short on team news but we do know that Amad Diallo is back in training after missing out in Gameweek 6 for personal reasons.

Amorim later confirmed to MUTV that he was available.

Tyrell Malacia, who looked set for a move away in the summer, was also welcomed back into the first-team fold for the first time in 2025/26.

Casemiro is available, too, after having been suspended for Saturday’s Brentford defeat.

Lisandro Martinez (knee) and Noussair Mazraoui (unspecified) are still unavailable.

EVERTON

David Moyes confirmed on Friday that Jarrad Branthwaite (hamstring) and Merlin Rohl (hip) remain sidelined.

Another Evertonian will definitely miss out this weekend: Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall is suspended after picking up his fifth booking of the season.

WOLVERHAMPTON WANDERERS

Vitor Pereira confirms that Wolves have had a dose of illness this week, with Toti Gomes struggling with the flu.

Pereira added that Jorgen Strand Larsen is not “100%” but is at least training with the team.

”Just flu, it’s time for the flu! It’s time for viruses. Today we have Toti, I think, with the flu. And Larsen is trying to come better and better but is not 100%. But he is working with us.” – Vitor Pereira

Matt Doherty has joined the injury list after having wrist surgery.

BURNLEY

Zeki Amdouni (knee) and Jordan Beyer (hamstring) remain out for the Clarets and while Connor Roberts (knee) has trained, Scott Parker thinks this game will come too soon for the right-back.

Burnley have no fresh worries.

I think his bubble has burst to be honest and I don't think Chelsea are going to get much against Liverpool or be consistent going forward. Also there are so many good options for front 3

    Feedback on the WC

    Pope Dubravka
    Calafiori Sensai Guehi Rodon Alderete
    Saka Semenyo Doku Minteh Sarr
    Haaland Gyorkes Woltemade

I wanted Gabby over Calafiori but thought he maybe benched this week. Apart from that thinks it’s quite template.

    Any suggestions?

        I'm torn

With 2 weeks and international travel there's a chance that Sarr gets clobbered in the two world cup qualifiers.

Grealish can go next time and another fix for BB Gw8.

It's 18 Oct the next round of fixtures.

If you're unsure just play Grealish and roll. Injuries can happen to anyone playing over the IB but extra transfers is always handy to put out fires

Hello, stupid question, but why is 'everyone' wildcarding next week? Is there a big fixture swing I'm missing (I've spent approximately zero time on my team / research this season), thank you kindly!
