Suspensions

In the Suspension Tightrope, we look at the players close to a ban, already suspended or returning from the naughty step in Double Gameweek 26.

A reminder: players now reaching five bookings will no longer incur a suspension.

WHEN ARE THE CUT-OFF POINTS FOR SUSPENSIONS?

Gameweek ban 26 yellow cards

The table above is from the Football Association website and details the cut-off points for the various yellow card thresholds.

With five cautions no longer the danger zone, the next target players have to avoid is 10. Anyone racking up that many yellow cards before their club has contested 32 fixtures will get a two-match ban.

And your usual reminder: punishments for yellow card accumulation are competition-specific. Suspensions for dismissals cover all competitive matches.

THE RACE TO (AVOID) 10 YELLOW CARDS

Gameweek 26 ban

“Hang on”, you might be thinking. “Wasn’t Yerson Mosquera (£4.3m) on nine bookings this time last week?” That he was, but it has since transpired that he did not get booked in Gameweek 24 (despite what the FPL total says) and he remains on eight cautions.

Teammates Joao Gomes (£5.3m) and Andre (£5.3m) are also two bookings away from a ban – so there’s at least no risk of them picking up a suspension for yellow card accumulation after the first of their two Double Gameweek 26 fixtures.

Marcos Senesi (£4.8m) is a notable name on seven cautions, sitting in over 15% of Fantasy squads.

WHICH PLAYERS SERVE SUSPENSIONS IN DOUBLE GAMEWEEK 26?

FPL Gameweek 2 differentials: Gordon, Schade + Diarra 3

Cristian Romero (£5.0m) begins a four-match ban in midweek. His dismissal for serious foul play on Saturday was his second red card of the season, so he has to sit out an extra game. We won’t see him till Gameweek 30.

Dominik Szoboszlai (£6.7m) will only miss Gameweek 26 and return thereafter. His controversial red card on Sunday was for the denial of an obvious goalscoring opportunity.

Kevin Schade (£7.0m) and Jeanclair Todibo (£4.3m) continue to serve three-match bans after being sent off for violent conduct in Gameweek 24. One of those three matches will be served in the FA Cup fourth round, so they’ll be back in Gameweek 27.

Mykhailo Mudryk (£4.9m) remains indefinitely banned by the FA.

RETURNING FROM A BAN IN DOUBLE GAMEWEEK 26

FPL notes: Dyche's Forest taking shape + praise for £5.3m Anderson

Neco Williams (£4.7m) is back for Nottingham Forest, having served a one-match ban in Gameweek 24.

Hi, I've got 3 FT and next to no clue what to do!

DCL has been a disaster (incredibly, he finally scored when I benched him)
Wilson has gone off the boil a bit but he's on set pieces and dead cheap
Anderson prob. needs to go? Fulham aren't looking good defensively at all and only have a couple of playable fixtures
Keeper is a problem but I'm sticking with Roefs for this fixture before getting Kelleher next week
Ekitike has also been very much hit & miss but has good upcoming fixtures

    A) DCL to Pedro (bench Wilson)
    B) Wilson to Rogers
    C) Wilson to Rayan
    D) Andersen to Munoz
    E) Andersen to Dalot
    F) ... save?

    Roefs
    Gabriel Timber Senesi
    Rice Bruno Enzo Wilson Anderson
    Haaland Ekitike
    (Dubravka DCL Andersen Gudmundsson)

Here's the annoying thing. You will want Fulham back if your plan is the standard deadend 31 and WC32 which is what this looks like because they play Burnley in GW31.

So what I'd do is look to bench them and upgrade your support cast.

Dammit, just found out WOL and BRE are the league leaders on the fewest set-piece goals conceded. So Gabriel (C) is certainly less encouraging now.

I've currently stuck TC on him.

With 2 main DGW's expected with BB to use on one of them and FH on the other. This week seems like a good week for TC.

I have a few more weeks of WC advantage to gain. I've gained maybe 10-15 points this week already and I expect to gain more over the next few weeks. That wildcard 32 advantage is slipping away...

    Lammens
    Gabriel Timber Nunes
    Fernandes Mbeumo Rogers Rice
    Haaland Pedro Mane
    (Darlow Enzo Chalobah Reinildo)

Posted before I finished what I wanted to ask... Roll FT is super likely here. To get me to 3 FTs. If Mbeumo is out, would you transfer him out or just play Enzo?

Wirtz or Sarr. I thought I couldn't afford Wirtz but Mbeumo went up last night and now I can haha.

Not sure about Wirtz, but Sarr could be quite good if you don't mind the blank in 31.

Reckon Enzo should be starting over Rogers anyway tbh… but yes just play Enzo if Mbeumo out, unless he’s out for a long time, at which point you could think about Wirtz

Don’t think the Mane transfer is worth it from Kroupi. At least i’ll probably not be doing it. If you already own him he’s fine to own ofc

Was that for me? I know I recommended doing that move but it was for someone that had 5 FTs and was gonna burn one. I probably wouldn't do it if I could just roll instead.

It looks like you've had 145 points since your wildcard

I've had 140 points and did fairly average with a wildcard left

Is 5 points a wildcard advantage these days?

Different teams, different states. I benched two double digit hauls last week for Nunes also. Let's see after 3 more weeks how you stack up.

I'm talking the people that decided to save WC and have been playing VvD, Andersen, Anderson, Wilson, Thiago type of players for a few weeks. I reckon the point advantage I gain over those will be greater than most WC32s.

But it's super hard to compare because yeah the choices you make differ once you choose a path.

I could play my wildcard this week if I wanted Palmer and Pedro straight in.

I wouldn't play it now honestly. You've lost two of Chelsea's plum games. And presumably you've been making transfers since GW24 to try and get the 'template' players for this period like Bruno, triple Arsenal, some Chelsea etc.

I don't need to convince anyone anymore. The window is lost if you didn't move. Now all that's left is to see which strategy is better.

How is the "wildcard 32 advantage slipping away" when we don't have confirmed blanks and doubles post-GW31 haha

        • Fantasy Football Scout Member
        • 16 Years

Because if you're 32 points behind a WC24 by GW32, you've 'lost'. I could take a -28 to get a 'wildcard' team and still be ahead in points.

        1. Tonyawesome69

The only way the WC32 is better is if WC24 does not yield 30+ points between GW24 and GW32.

There’s literally no way of knowing yet that that is the break even point. I’m not at all sure why you’ve gone so big recently on proving yourself right. As you yourself say no one can go back and retrospectively WC24 so even if you’re right it would just be gloating. And the only thing we can say for sure now is - it’s entirely unclear what will prove to be the right strategy

In Option 1, if I go for Timber, I'll downgrade Wilson for Dewsbury-Hall and Thiaw for Timber, I have funds.
In Option 2, I can do the same as in Option 1
In Option 3, if I go for Gyokeres, I'll sell Thiago for Gyokeres and downgrade either Wilson-Dewsbury-Hall or Thiaw for Richards (cry)

I’m in the same situation as you except I can’t get to Timher without -4 so I’m looking at saliba or gyokeres. Leaning towards gyokeres - seems to be in some good form!

      Timber

I don't think I'd take Gyokeres over Pedro, Ekitike or Thiago. So that rules him out. Havertz might even outscore him, somehow

Timber vs Saliba isn't close, imo

I'd go Timber over Saliba for the upside as so definitely not 2.

Gyokeres feels like recency bias and the least nailed option. Plus I'd much rather keep Thiago over Thiaw so I'd go 1 as it is in fact my triple up.

3 is maybe the risk/reward play but that doesn't make it necessarily the best play.

How to get to a 3rd Arsenal? Have Rice & Gabs

    a) Haaland > Gyokeres
    b) Evanilson & Enzo > Gyokeres & KDH
    c) Haaland & Mukiele > Ekitike & Timber/Saliba
    d) Enzo & Mukiele > KDH & Timber/sailba

Not sure I'd want to lose Enzo ahead of the next 2 games. Or Haaland generally.

    A. Alderete -> Munoz
    B. Tavernier -> Sarr
    C. Guiu -> Strand Larsen
    D. Roll, start Mukiele

    Thanks in advance

Does the fact Palace likely blank in 31 matter ie will you have the transfers to take your Palace player back out? If it does, then D.

If you have the transfers, I like Munoz a lot but it makes more sense to remove a blank spot as at least Alderete is nailed
I'd bring in Sarr over JSL I think?

I don't have many transfers, only 1FT this week. But I think I should have enough to get 11 out in GW31 unless there's surprise injuries.

B because it removes an injured player. At least Sarr has some form, unlike JSL (new team, so unknown atm)

      Check out KDH though

Worth moving on Thiago to bring in Mbuemo (2FT) with formation change?

Thiago just scored vs Newcastle. Arsenal is his last tough fixture for a while

      The timing could backfire

      Chalobah Andersen Cash

      Andersen (Bur H)
Cash (WHU H) or other Villa, none of them DC so prefer Cash's attacking threat.
Probably a tossup between Burn or Thiaw or Hall but its Tyne Wear Derby at home so could be cards. Or Spurs home to Forest is ok, probably not terrible for Forest either.

Cheers to both of you. I have Thiaw, Andersen, Gudm - all have tough fix this week + injured Dorgu. So it's likely to be Dorgu--->??? (maybe Hill/Senesi or Cash)...

    Schrodingers trash...

Ekitike will either haul if I bench him for Oreilly, or do f all if play him.

What's the decision? Sunderland are solid

Just start him. He's a good striker. O'Reilly's ceiling is nowhere near as high.

I saw a mention somewhere hes a bit Darwin esque. I wouldn't go that far but I do see the comparison, hes not a natural finisher at all

    Which sounds best (2FT):

    a) Wilson, Wolte > Semenyo, JSL (bench Wirtz)
    b) NO'R > Muñoz
    c) Wilson > Sarr

    1. Ze_Austin

      Planning FH31?

Woltemade is the weakest spot here, so sell him... For Thiago next GW. Bench now and play Wilson and O'Reilly

Right then, who to remove for Rice?

    C) Mbeumo (only if injured imo)

You listed three mids who have better form than Rice, and none is facing a defence like Arsenal's

          So, skip Rice

  20. Sir Michael Taker

I can just sense a late Thiago goal with him parked firmly on most benches to ruin the start of the double gameweek for many. Long time to stew between that and the Wolves game

    1. Pompel
      • 12 Years

Yeah, would be typical. Guess one should just play him to hedge the bets

    1. King > Sarr (BUR, WOL, mun, tot, LEE, blank)
    2. Thiaw > Chalobah (LEE, BUR, ars, avl, NEW, eve)

Who would do you think scores more the next few gameweeks?

Sarr obviously has bigger upside, but 2 means I can do a straight swap from Bowen > Ekitike next GW, but then would be forced to play Alderete (bou) or VDV (ful) in GW28 (and I will start Wilson)

I don't expect Chelsea to keep a cleansheet this GW either and probably will only do so in the Burnley game and possibly the Villa game

    1. Ze_Austin
      • 7 Years
      5 months, 5 days ago

Thiaw plays. King doesn't. So it's an unfair comparison: sell the non-starters

Sarr vs other options is then more of a conversation, like KDH/Anderson in one move, or two moves involving Thiaw to Hill now and King to Rogers/BrunoG/Wirtz next GW

      1. Ha.
        • 10 Years
        5 months, 5 days ago

I don't follow the logic as both are currently on the bench

That's correct re: Sarr, hence the question

        1. Ze_Austin
          • 7 Years
          5 months, 5 days ago

I mean Thiaw starts for his team, while King doesn't. The guy who isn't starting is easier to sell

    Good day everyone,

    Here is my attacking team:

    Bruno F - Semenyo - Wilson - Enzo - Rice
Haaland - Jr Kroupi - Thiago

With only 1 FT, thinking about this move:

    Wilson OUT & Wirtz IN

    Any other good alternative?

    1. Ha.
      • 10 Years

Would keep Wilson personally and would be looking for a way to bring in Ekitike in the next couple of weeks

      I'd sell Rice for Wirtz

Thanks! No way l sell Rice with DGW
      The other alternative would be

      - sell Hall for Munoz

Last Man Standing Update (258 teams)

    Safety score = 63
Top score = Marin Vuletic with 99

29 teams to be removed, 229 teams to be removed.

Playing Hall over Richards means I'm eliminated this week.

    Congrats to the Final 229!

      https://www.fantasyfootballscout.co.uk/2026/02/04/man-city-crystal-palace-poised-for-blank-gameweek-31

The only way it could potentially stay in Gameweek 31 is if both sides are eliminated from Europe before the quarter-final stage or if City bow out of the FA Cup before the quarter-finals of that competition.

VVD to Saliba or Calfori for free? Have Gab already and can't afford Timber

    1. Ze_Austin
      • 7 Years
      5 months, 5 days ago

As bad as VVD's season has been, he's somehow 10 points ahead of both (fitness and DCs, mostly)... And has good fixtures ahead

Calafiori hasn't been back for long enough to know if he's back to being as nailed as Timber, or if his presence even affects Timber

I really can't predict how this will pan out

If forced, I'd say take the Calafiori risk due to his upside
