Joe’s highly popular ‘Goals Imminent’ statistics from the Members Area is the basis for this weekly article.

Heading towards Gameweek 27 of Fantasy Premier League (FPL), we try to identify some more underachieving players who look ‘due’ for a goal and/or assist.

Naturally, we’ll attempt to assess whether they’re unlucky, suffering a rare blip, or just aren’t particularly good.

    2 FT

    Who would you sell first?

    Roefs Dúbravka
Gabriel Timber Chalabah Mukiele Van Hecke
    Bruno Semenyo Rice Rogers Enzo
    Haaland Ekitiké Guiu

I have a few candidates in mind, but it's mainly the Chelsea players so do I simply roll again?

Still have all the chips to use, but I don't think this merits a wildcard.

No cash so BB isn't on with Guiu in Gw27.

Next week. Enzo Chalobah to Hill and Wirtz?

Roll. Could be a high scoring 3-5-2 this GW, then an easier decision next GW

Guiu to Thiago with funds raised from 2 other FTs in midfield and defence, I'd think

WC. I'd make 2 GK changes (Darlow over Dubravka too), 3 or 4 in defence, 2 in midfield, and 2 in forward line

WC21 kept me playing this game, as I went from 3m OR to 2m now. Still a slow climb, but worth it if your team needs it

Alternatively, you can just go Tark to VVD this GW and WC next GW, to get the best last pre-WC games from Arsenal and Enzo

      1. Amartey Partey

Isn’t there a better time to WC now right before 33?

I am actually the same as you in that I wildcarded in GW21 when I was close to quitting the game. It has taken me from 400K to 133K.

        1. Ze_Austin

I don't have much against the popular WC32 strategy, except maybe having to lose lots of value on the template (price rises have been wild), which will force some cheap differentials on BB33

Yet the best use of WC, to me, is when the squad needs it. We needed it 😀

Now, fingers crossed that 3+ saved FTs are enough for the later DGW/BGW chaos

Yeah. Any idea when you will free hit? I play quite an attacking game so I will probably do it in the big DGW.

I can't say yet, but there are enough iffy games for top teams in GW33 for me to consider FH there too. I know Haaland isn't my only TC candidate, so I can hold it until the other small DGW, if any

Current plan is BB27 TC33 FH34, but very flexible

Absolutely right regarding price rises as to what players will cost by the time 32 comes round. Managers will be praying for a Haaland injury…

Struggling to decide which 2 to bench. Thinking Chalobah (Chelsea defence is awful and Burnley tend to score) and Rice (poor form). What do you think?

    Raya.
    Guehi. Hill. Mukiele. Gabriel.
    Palmer(TC). Semenyo. Rogers. BrunoF.
    JP. Thiago.

    Dubz. Chalobah. Rice. Manè.

    1. Ze_Austin
      • 7 Years

A similar dilemma with a GK duo and Haaland over Mané has me on BB. Mukiele and Hill are the cheapest, but might end up in team of the week

Go with your gut, imo. Including the TC. It's all rather rough to call

    2. Amartey Partey

I’d probably bench Hill and Muk. I’ve got a feeling Rice is going to score against Spurs. I’m giving him one last game before selling.

Best defender up to GW31. Replacing Richards.
    A) Timber (triple Arsenal)
    B) Van Dijk
    C) Munoz
    D) Hill

D means budget for Palmer over Wirtz / Semenyo

      Probably C for Gw27 or D for Gw28

        Leaning towards this.

Assess Richards to one of the options next GW. Leaning towards Van Dijk

Raya + DCL to Kelleher + Thiago to get this? And bench Timber?

    Kelleher
    Gabriel VVD Mukiele
    Fernandes Mbeumo Semenyo Rogers LeFee
    Haaland Thiago

    Dubravka Timber Mane Rodon

    1. Amartey Partey
      • 7 Years

Good transfers. I’m not sure if I’d bench Timber, but I understand it. He has been super frustrating. It’s crazy he hasn’t hauled for ages. Has been close on numerous occasions.

      1. DARK SIDE OF THE LOON
        • 10 Years
        6 months, 15 days ago

Yes. Timber can do a VVD anytime. The other option would be to bench either Mukiele who is great home or LeFee who is on pens.

        1. Amartey Partey
          • 7 Years

I’ve got Muk first on the bench at the moment, but yes it’s difficult not to start him. I’d have to bench Timber though.

        There's good options next week

I can start Gab, Chalabah and Mukiele at home and bench Timber and Van Hecke for example.

When Granit is back in a few weeks Sunderland should be that bit stronger again too.

    2. Ze_Austin
      • 7 Years

I understand the Arsenal frustration, but see the gap on the table between Brentford and Spurs

It's not the same kind of challenge that requires a fire sale/bench, imo

      1. DARK SIDE OF THE LOON
        • 10 Years

Thiago should be great in the next few. Need 1.1 for that DCL to Thiago transfer. Dont know where else I can downgrade.

Brighton isn't an easy defence for now, imo. Play Timber and then same moves next GW?

Thiago is a popular transfer in, but can't be too damaging when most folks would rather cap premiums this GW. I'd be in more of a rush vs Burnley

    2FT 0.3m ITB

    Raya Dub
    Gabriel Chalobah Senesi Andersen Alderete
    Bruno Mbeumo Rogers Rice Enzo
    Haaland Ekitike Guiu

Roll one more FT, then something along the lines of Chalobah, Rice and Enzo to VVD, Semenyo and Dango next week?

Rice is supposed to be a season keeper and for everyone who got him after the Bournemouth haul, unless he does well at Wolves he's going to be sold en masse.

There's an argument to keep him until Gw31 but I can see the temptation to switch him up.

    1. Camzy
      • Fantasy Football Scout Member

It's got me thinking whether I want to keep Rogers or Rice. Rogers has been pretty poor for me since I brought him in. I think he has 2 returns in his last 6 or smth. Underlyings are definitely better than Rice though...

    2. Ze_Austin
      • 7 Years
      6 months, 15 days ago

It's frustration from (attacking) blanks while other mids have gotten more points in that timeframe since his haul. Two assists before that haul too

He ticks over, but being a worse Anderson won't save him from the allure of form mids

    3. Amartey Partey
      • 7 Years
      6 months, 15 days ago

If he does well against Spurs, I will keep him. Difficult to hold though when the likes of Django, Rayan, Wirtz, Rogers have such great fixtures coming up.

    B) Wirtz
    C) VVD

    1. Amartey Partey

    2. Camzy

The only one I might get is Wirtz although VvD is also nice if you can get him in.

For forwards, I think Ekitike is expensive and I'm prioritizing Thiago over him.

    3. Ze_Austin
      • 7 Years
      6 months, 15 days ago

      CBA for me

Ekitike is nice, but I cba because I wouldn't have him over Pedro (yes) or Thiago

Wirtz is slightly above other template mids for me, yet behind Palmer BrunoF Mbeumo Semenyo. On par with Rogers, but I prefer Pool fixtures

VVD is behind just Gabriel and Hill. On par with Timber

In isolation, I think ACB in order of haul potential in any given GW

    4. The Knights Template

FPL Harry avoiding Semenyo and targeting Wirtz & Dango instead. Must say it would be gutting to buy Semenyo at this late stage and for him to blank against Newcastle.

    1. Amartey Partey
      • 7 Years

Risky. I’d be hiding behind the couch if I didn’t own Semenyo. He’s probably a better captain choice than Haaland now.

      1. Jet5605
        • 12 Years

He's clearly in great form but his early run of hauls for BOU also came to an end eventually. The issue for me is that Rice at Spurs is a decent fixture and it could be a goal fest there

        1. Amartey Partey
          • 7 Years

True. Both games on paper scream goals. Newcastle will be without Bruno G and tired from Europe though. And they’re garbage away.

If it's those options I'd hold. If it's Semenyo or Mbeumo or Wirtz I'd make the move.

Have Semenyo and Wirtz, priced out of mbeumo

Hi all, I'm looking to improve my team.

Up front I can only afford 3 of the following 4 players:
    Wirtz Semenyo Thiago Mbeumo

Which 3 to pick alongside Haaland Bruno Palmer? I'm currently leaning towards first 3 because I have Bruno

Semenyo and Thiago plus one more, I would also go with Wirtz (but very close)

Sorry, should have put with my last question - 5th midfielder: Dango or Rayan if funds not an issue?

      Consider Adli too

If it can wait 1 GW, delay the decision. If not, Dango atm

          Nailed? Better option over senesi?

Nailed, yes. Better, definitely (atm). More DCs, takes long throws, header target on corners

Haaland not in the squad. Semenyo, Guehi, O'Reilly, Nunes, Donnarumma, Dias, Rodri benched

Is Potts red card valid for Premier League... Or just for FA Cup?

Yes. Dangerous play, so 3 games out across all domestic competitions
