Jeremie Frimpong (groin) won’t be back in action for Gameweek 27’s trip to Nottingham Forest, but there is “hope” the Dutch defender could make his return when Liverpool host West Ham United the following weekend.
“Jeremie will not be involved this weekend yet. We hope he will be involved next week if things go as planned.” – Arne Slot
No such Gameweek 28 comebacks are on the cards for long-term absentee Alexander Isak (ankle), though, or indeed Wataru Endo (foot), who was stretchered off in Gameweek 26.
“Wata will be out for a long time, as I said earlier. We don’t know exactly how long – but long.
“Alex has been on the pitch, not with his football shoes but with his running shoes, for the first time this week. So, that will still take a while, as well, before he’s ready to play for us again.
“It will be around that period of time [for Isak], the end of March, the start of April, where he’s hopefully back with the group. When you’re back with the group, it’s not to say that you’re ready to play, let alone start, a game of football.” – Arne Slot
Elsewhere, Conor Bradley (knee), Giovanni Leoni (knee), Stefan Bajcetic (hamstring) and Jayden Danns (hamstring) are also still sidelined, but Slot expects that Joe Gomez – who recently returned from a minor knock – could be involved from the start.
“Yeah, I think he is.” – Arne Slot on whether Joe Gomez is ready to start
