Brentford v Wolves team news: van den Berg + Collins start

Brentford v Wolverhampton Wanderers rounds off Gameweek 30 this evening, with the kick-off at 20:00 GMT.

TEAM NEWS

There are two changes for the Bees from the FA Cup fifth round as Sepp van den Berg and Mathias Jensen return to the side.

Kristoffer Ajer and Yehor Yarmoliuk drop to the bench.

Wolves boss Rob Edwards makes four changes from his side’s own cup defeat to Liverpool.

Jose Sa, Ladislav Krejci, Andre and Adam Armstrong are recalled for the visitors.

Toti Gomes, Angel Gomes and Tolu Arokodare drop to the bench, while goalkeeper Sam Johnstone is not in the squad.

    If you only own Thiago that goal very close to meaningless given 75% Thiago EO and 19% Dango EO. Only 0.4 points gain.

    I feel like FPL towers have generally got the point scoring correct this season.

    The top scorers currently across all defenders, midfielders, strikers are at c175 points apart from Haaland who started like a rocket and is closer to 200

    BUT.... Goalkeepers are a problem. Just 129 for Raya, the top shutting keeper. They really need to look at this position and make it worthwhile to be spending 1.5m more on a premium keeper. Quite how I don't know.

    Maybe have a graded clean sheet scoring system:

    1 point for keeping a clean sheet for at least 45 minutes
    2 points for keeping it for at least 55
    3 points for keeping it for at least 75
    4 points for not conceding.

    So if your keeper concedes on the 90th minute, they still get 3 clean sheet points Vs 0 clean sheet points for one that concedes in the first half

      I think we just gotta accept that positions are not equal scoring in FPL. I personally wish forwards scored more points. I think forwards getting clean sheet points should be a thing. Forwards do quite a lot of defensive work nowadays and it doesn't seem fair to reward mids like Salah with that point when a forward like Bowen doesn't.

        Yeah maybe it's right that some positions score less, but it would make it more skill based if you couldn't just have a set and forget keeper. There's never a big spread

      I would recalculate using points / price.

      Keepers are much cheaper than forwards, so the balance seems about right to me.

      Unless you are suggesting they increase the price of keepers in alignment with your proposal?

        No, I'm just saying that over the course of the season, keepers that concede 100 goals a season for example shouldn't really be getting close to the same score as one that keeps 15 clean sheets a season and only concedes 30 goals

          Yeah I get you.

          But Haaland at 14.5m is way more expensive than, say, Kroupi at 4.5m (and his score is much higher). There's a huge difference in the price of forwards because FPL towers have heavily weighted the game towards attacking returns.

          GKs range from 4.0m to 5.5m - similarly there is a much smaller range between keeper scores precisely because of how FPL point scoring currently works.

          So all I'm saying is if they are going to further stratify the scoring of keepers (as you suggest), they would need to update the pricing as well to match.

      So, two teams concede the same amount of goals but one gets 3 extra points?
      If anything, that makes it even more random.
      If they want the points to reflect each team's defensive performance more accurately, they could increase the gap between 1 GC and 2 GC to more than one point.

      Other ways to help GKs score more points would be 1 extra point for CS (only for GKs, not for defenders) and 1 pt for 2 saves instead of 3.

        I dunno, maybe people are happy with the current setup.

        I just hate the anxiety of knowing a goal conceded in the last second is at least a -4

      He's a good forward tbf. He's exactly the sort of forward you want for FPL. Is always in the centre of the box, always hunting for chances, he's his team's xG funnel and he takes pens.
