When are the FPL Blank and Double Gameweeks in 2025/26?

Looking at the complete 2025/26 calendar, Fantasy Premier League (FPL) managers can predict when Blank and Double Gameweeks will occur.

In recent times, seasons have been disrupted by a global pandemic, train strikes, a winter World Cup, stadium renovations, weather and the death of Queen Elizabeth II.

Combined with routine FA Cup and EFL Cup fixture clashes, managers usually have numerous Blank and Double Gameweeks to navigate.

However, 2024/25 featured fewer of these. This upcoming year should be similar.

Here is what we know so far.

LAST SEASON’S BLANK AND DOUBLE GAMEWEEKS

Confirmed: Everton v Liverpool postponed 3

With the FA Cup quarter-finals back to having their own weekend, away from any Premier League fixtures, 2024/25 robbed managers of FPL’s traditional biggest Blank Gameweek.

Instead, there was less chaos. The EFL Cup final caused two Blank Gameweek 29 postponements, which moved to Double Gameweeks 25 and 32. Meanwhile, FA Cup semi-final weekend nudged a couple of Blank Gameweek 34 encounters to Double Gameweek 33.

Oh, plus a weather cancellation of Gameweek 15’s Merseyside derby. That eventually took place in Double Gameweek 24.

WHAT ABOUT 2025/26?

Auto Draft 105

Many FPL managers save their chips for these occasions, as they try to maximise points totals. But now we have fewer and smaller Blank and Double Gameweeks.

DOUBLE GAMEWEEK 26

Arsenal and Wolverhampton Wanderers will have a double in Gameweek 26. The other 18 clubs play once.

BLANK GAMEWEEK 31

Gameweek 31 clashes with the EFL Cup final.

Arsenal, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Manchester City and Crystal Palace consequently blank. The other 16 clubs play as normal.

BLANK GAMEWEEK 34

Gameweek 34 clashes with the FA Cup semi-finals.

Three Premier League fixtures will be postponed:

DOUBLE GAMEWEEK 33/36

Six teams will double in Gameweek 33. These are the ones who blank in Gameweek 34:

At the moment, it looks like Gameweek 36 will house Manchester City v Crystal Palace, the one remaining outstanding fixture.

    Looking like African players including Salah, and Mbeumo will miss 3 to 6 (maybe 7) PL fixtures over the festive period and into January due to the AFCON being moved to the winter (Dec 21 to Jan 18) to accommodate the World Club Cup.

    So potentially clubs can have 3 fixtures that need rearranging due to PL & Cup clashes, but only 2 free non European midweek nights to play them in. Best option if that happens looks like moving the FA Cup final posponement to later in GW37 (Tuesday, or Thursday wouldn't clash with EL final) but that's only possible if they are not playing in the EL final as well.

      Trouble is, the promoted teams have relatively kind GW1 fixtures, so there's high potential for skewed pricing if launched in GW2.

        The sensible thing to do (other than ditching it completely) would be to launch in GW1 with prices linked to last season's finishing places and have all promoted team managers at 0.5m.

      In German it means "In the West, Nothing New". However, it's English film title is "All Quiet on the Western Front". Literally, the same.

      Nothing but goosebumps for 2 hrs. Just make sure you have enough tissue. Nothing brought me this close to it than Gladiator by Russell Crowe. Good thing both films won an Oscar.

        Thought the film was very overrated (imo), and I love the war-movie genre. The music was irritating as heck too. I thought that 1917 (was it a Netflix production) was utter tripe (yet this rates higher than All Quiet ...).

        For a WW1 movie with goosebumps and tissues (as you say above), I'd have no hesitation in recommending Gallipoli (1981).

        As for the Western Front specifically, well, there's only one you need on your screens: Blackadder Goes Fourth! You're welcome, Darling 🙂

          All Quiet on the Western Front(2022 version). Surprisingly, the music is one of the reasons why I love the movie.

          It won an Oscar for the “best international film feature” so I don’t really get your point. Maybe because it is in German and not English as it might be hard for English viewers to understand except via prior knowledge of World War 1.

          This movie is in my top 5 best of all time and rightly so, mainly due to it’s unpredictability. Most movie critics put it in the same category as Dunkirk but it beats Dunkirk imo.

            An Oscar for "best international film feature", certainly doesn't equate to a top film, proven by the fact it doesn't even manage anything starting with an 8 on IMDB lol.

            I watched in English or with Subs can't recall, and although I have advanced-level knowledge about WW1, I don't get your point about having prior knowledge or not to enjoy the film. What's hard to understand about it (unless you're watching it in German as a non-German speaker).

            Dunkirk, omg, what a joke of "war-movie" that was too. Any critic doffing his cap to that one has little credibility. Just my opinion.

            I'm just jesting a bit here too mate, but to give you an idea of what I class as Top war movies, they are the likes of (Gallipoli), "Platoon" "Saving Private Ryan" "The Longest Day" "Full Metal Jacket" "Zulu" "The Bridge over the River Kwai" "The Guns of Navarone" and of "Where Eagles Dare"...these SMASH the effete Dunkirk and light weight AQWF.

            Hope you like Gallipoli (FYI, Prime did a recent, last few years, drama about the Gallipoli campaign and I thought that was excellent too).

                Yeah, coz Production Design & Score maketh a belter of a movie, lol. Dude, whoever sat around talking about the merits of a great movie pulled a "yeah, BUT, it got an Oscar for best Score and Production Design" hahaha...love the obscurity of it; any idea how the coffee was on set..if it was better than Saving Private Ryan's catering team, then hmm, I'll have a rethink.

                Older movies over time dip on IMDB..the distribution of votes trends to the lower marks the older a movie gets. So, already, the newer ones you love are low, wait till they have aged as much as the ones I mentioned, on a relative basis they will be in the 5's , especially AQOTWF

                    Movies better today than before, I deffo reject that and the bare numbers in terms of revenues at the once mighty studios also go against your unsubstantiated statement. AQOTWF, 1917 and Dunkirk are perfect examples of modern failure vs old school success (as mentioned above in superb old war films).

    Got another one for you, real Navy Seals were used as actors (their first time, to make it more realistic), Act of Valour (maybe you've seen it). I don't have any WW1 ones to give you thought relative to AQOTWF , Wipers Times and My Boy Jack , set on the Western Front WW1 , whilst in the trenches are not out and out war, but none the less excellent (IMO).

    Seems like GW4 WCs could be in play over the international break. FPL managers may opt to start with a team for the first 3 GWs and stack their FTs before hitting the WC

      Sounds like a plan, I normally WC right then anyway if I bb in GW1. So yea, it might be a good opportunity to get 5 transfers saved up quick, assuming you wont need any transfers immediately after the wc either.
