We spoke to current Fantasy Premier League (FPL) world number one Erik Ibsen this week!

The Danish medical student and Everton fan is, amazingly, playing his first ever season of FPL, although he is an avid follower of Premier League football and has played other Fantasy formats before.

Erik joined Mo on our YouTube channel to discuss his early transfer plans for Gameweek 32, chip strategy, potential Double Gameweeks and more.

You can watch the video embedded below or via this link here. The timestamps are beneath the video, while you can access the podcast of this video via the player at the foot of this article.

Considering his captaincy options at the start of the season (Tarkowski, Raya, Guehi) it would be a little bit disappointing that those kind of choices pay off but he did captain Bruno/Haaland most weeks and it is just how FPL works I guess

The game is more fun if you play your own game.

I don't buy that OR1 is 1st season. Very active on Twatter giving advice etc. Using language in this video like dead ending that a novice would not be using. That gameweek 1 team looks like a 1st season player and then something changed. Is it even him picking the team since? Very strange. Suspect he does not win as he's benefitted from an abnormally large 1st bench boost vs the field which inflates the score a bit

I agree based on language used, chip knowledge - first year with current email address more likely

I have zero doubts about anything he said during the interview. As he said, he's played other fantasy football before and already follows the EPL since he was young, has an analytical approach to the game and has done his research. It's good a No.1 comes on and discusses his team before the season is over. Why all the badmouthing?

The universe is a perfect self sustaining model. Just put out some protons and eletrons there, they'll fuse to form hydrogen and helium and whatnot, which will again fuse to form other larger structures. Whoever the creator of this place is, I have to give credit to him for this model which gives unlimited output with such simple inputs. Well done, lad.

The order in the universe is amazing. Everything on earth to sustain life is unbelievable. Just one imbalance in any of the millions of things on earth and the life would have never sustained

Not just earth, but of the entire universe. The strength of gravity, the initial state of entropy. Any different and the universe wouldn't be here. Though you could argue there are other universes which collapsed while ours sustained.

Does Solio suggest playing Wilson (liv) or Dewsbury-Hall (bre) in GW 32?

Here we go again. GW 30/31 wildcards last season, GW 32/33/34 bench boosts/triple captains/free hits. Underwhelming, catch the random haul, season over.

Chips 1st half of the season make perfect sense, even the CCs are tired now (recommending double Newcastle defense).

Speaking of One True Loves Semisonic style...

    Oh, yeah
I'm wishing on a falling star
    Wondering where you are
I wished, wished for you on a falling star
    Wondering where you are
Do I ever cross your mind
    In the warm sunshine?
She's from the city of angels
Like Bette Davis, James Dean and Gable
Never know what she means to me
I fell for the girl that's on TV
Met her at a gala affair
She wore a green dress and everybody was there
Felt outta place as she looked into my eyes
Shake her hand around nine pm and now
I'm never gonna be the same again
Never have to be on a movie screen
To be the leading lady in all my dreams
    Shoobie-do-wop and scooby snacks
Met a fly girl and I can't relax
The only problem is she's a movie star, oh
My friends, they won't believe me
If they could only see me
At the risk of sounding cheesy
I think I fell for the girl on TV
I wished, wished for you on a falling star (star)
Wondering where you are (wondering where you are)
Do I ever cross your mind
    In the warm sunshine?
She's from the city of angels
Like Bette Davis, James Dean and Gable
Never know what she means to me
I fell for the girl that's on TV
    Everybody knows her name
Wanna take her picture and they're glad she came
But I just wanna be there when she's down, down
    (Be there when she's down)
    I don't want her autograph
I just wanna call her up and make her laugh
Never had to be on the movie screen
To be the leading lady in all my dreams
    Shoobie-do-wop and scooby snacks
    I met a fly girl and I can't relax
Only problem is she's a movie star, whoa
My friends, they won't believe me
If they could only see me
At the risk of sounding cheesy
I think I fell for the girl on TV
I wished, wished for you on a falling star (wished for you on a falling star)

I wished for you on a falling star
I'm wishing on a star and I'm wondering where you are
    Wondering where you are
Do I cross your remind in the warm sunshine?
Yeah, so I wished for you on a bright, shining star (shining star)
Everywhere I look, there you are (there you are)
It's the girl in the green dress
    She took my breath away
And now I look to the sky for the better day, yeah
To the beat y'all and scooby snacks
    I met a fly girl and I can't relax, uh-huh
Never had to be on the movie screen
'Cause she's the leading lady in all my dreams
Whoa, I wished, wished for you on a falling star (I wished for you on a falling star)
Wondering where you are (where you are)
Do I ever cross your mind (Do I? Do I?)
    In the warm sunshine?
She's from the city of angels (Yes, she is)
Like Bette Davis, James Dean and Gable
Never know what she means to me
I fell for the girl that's on TV
I wished for you on a falling star (I wished for you on a falling star)
