Saudi Fantasy: Round 28 Team Reveals

NOTES

  • Round 27 delivered a strong 153 points, pushing me up to 4k overall. Defensive suspensions did limit the full impact of Park the Bus, but it was still a solid green arrow.
  • Double Gameweek 28 changes the approach slightly. Limited starters and overall uncertainty mean the Two-Captain chip is off the table. Instead, I’m bringing the Wildcard forward to rebuild the squad properly for Double Gameweek 28 and the run beyond.
  • The planned moves, which could still change, see Gaston Álvarez make way for Nacho Fernández, Mahamadou Doumbia out for Khalid Al-Ghannam, and Karim Benzema replaced by Moussa Dembélé.
  • In defence, Theo Hernández moves to Kalidou Koulibaly, while Roger Ibañez is swapped for Rayan. In goal, Marcelo Grohe drops out for Marek Rodak.
  • For now, Mateo Retegui stays, assuming he’s fit and starts.
  • This setup currently gives me seven doublers for Double Gameweek 28, which feels like a solid base to attack the round.
  • There’s still money in the bank too, which keeps the door open for a move to Cristiano Ronaldo in Round 30.
  • Captaincy is currently between João Félix and Julian Quinones, with both offering strong upside this week.

Saudi Fantasy: Round 28 Team Reveals

NOTES

  • A green arrow at the time of writing, which I’m delighted with, especially with so many playing Park the Bus.
  • Round 28 looks set for a hit frenzy. I have considered using Loan Rangers, but that feels better suited to Blank Gameweek 29 rather than this round.
  • Instead, I’m planning a -16 – yes, a big one. The logic is straightforward. Every player I’m selling, apart from Yannick Carrasco, doesn’t have a fixture. I’m moving them all on for players with a double, so in theory, the appearance points alone should go a long way towards covering the hits.
  • The current moves see Roger Ibañez, Danilo Pereira, Theo Hernández, Yannick Carrasco and Ivan Toney make way for Mohamed Simakan, Nacho Fernández, Francisco Calvo, Gini Wijnaldum and Cristiano Ronaldo.
  • There are still a couple of concerns. Both Fashion Sakala and Alexandre Lacazette remain doubts. Mohammed Al-Enqare could come in for one of them if needed. If both are ruled out, I may even consider another hit to bring in an additional Al Qadsiah midfielder.
  • I’ll also be activating the Two Captains chip this round, with Ronaldo and Quinones currently pencilled in as the standout options.

Saudi Fantasy: Round 28 Team Reveals

NOTES

  • I’ll be activating the Loan Ranger chip for this round, looking to maximise the upside across a strong double-heavy squad.
  • The team is well set up, with a solid defensive core of Nacho Fernández, Francisco Calvo and Mohamed Simakan, supported by value picks like Saud Abdulhamid Al-Ghannam and Nawaf Boushal.
  • In midfield, there’s plenty of firepower, with Julian Quinones, Gini Wijnaldum, Sadio Mané, Musab Al-Juwayr and João Félix all offering strong routes to points.
  • Up front is where the real upside lies. Cristiano Ronaldo leads the line, alongside Ousmane Dembélé and Mateo Retegui, giving the team multiple captaincy-level options.
  • The armband will go to Cristiano Ronaldo, who stands out as the standout captain for the round, given his double fixture and consistent goal threat.

NOTES

  • This week, I’ll be activating Loan Rangers, stacking heavily towards the standout fixtures.
  • I’ve gone with seven players from Al Nassr, who face a double against weak opposition, making them the clear focus. Alongside that, I’ve added two from Al Qadisiah, one from Al Ettifaq, and one from Neom, who also face Al Najma – another side that has struggled defensively.
  • The armband will go to Cristiano Ronaldo, who stands out as the best captain option given the double and the quality of fixtures.
