Joe’s highly popular ‘Goals Imminent’ table from the Members Area is the basis for this weekly article.

Heading towards Double Gameweek 33 of Fantasy Premier League (FPL), we try to identify some more underachieving players who look ‘due’ for a goal and/or assist.

Naturally, we’ll attempt to assess whether they’re unlucky, suffering a rare blip, or just aren’t particularly good.

LAST WEEK’S SUCCESSES

FPL notes: Kroupi praise, Tavernier update + 4

Perhaps a surprise entry on the table was Alex Scott (£5.0m), but he scored the decisive goal in Bournemouth’s shock win at Arsenal. He reached 12 points, also grabbing defensive contribution (DefCon) joy and maximum bonuses.

As predicted, Florian Wirtz (£8.3m) set up a strike at Anfield, passing to Rio Ngumoha (£4.3m).

GOALS IMMINENT

Is Okafor even nailed? His minutes have been all over the the place judging by his stats on FPL, and isn’t he now injured?

He was injured and still coming back from injury. I think 2 goals tonight nailed him to starting eleven. He's OOP forward and Leeds will surely play with two forwards and Aaronson. DCL and Okafor should surely both start against Wolves poor defense. Nmecha and Gnonto options from bench as in last several games.

Cheers bud this clears it up for me, I’m really not in the know when it comes to Leeds at all, makes sense, I may be a sheep and include him on FH 33

I think the Wolves factor is probably going to be the tipping point for me. Might even bring him in tonight to save losing .1m on Rice...

Yeah that would be tempting if I had Rice, I’d say it’s a worthy move

If Nico is out, would you do this for free: Bowen O'Reilly > DCL Guehi/Nunes? Y/N.

Yep can’t really argue with those moves bud if it FH’ing or anything. Guehi over Nunes for me there.

This article is making me think about Tavernier vs Okafor, who to get. Tavernier is due to score and assist but it just proves he's out of form and such is Bou attack as well exceptom for Kroupi.

Anyways BBing this week with only TC chip left. No FT, 2m itb. On this:

    Darlow, Kelleher
Gabriel, VVD, O'Reilly, Van Hecke, Hill
Semenyo, Bruno F, Szobo, Wilson, Rice
    Haaland, JP, DCL

Open to hits, going risky as have got nothing to lose. Seriously thinking of Rice to Okafor as a punt. Is it worth it? Is Leeds double attack and triple up in total too much or should I spread it out with Tavernier or Gross? Betting against Wolves seems like the most rational decision. If O'Reilly defo out going for Guehi or maybe better differential Nunes. Triple MCI attack with Cherki and getting Senesi/Bijol for O'Reilly could be too much, right?

For gw34 will surely get Thiago back for DCL. Will do at least one more transfer to have 8 playing BGW players. Is my planning good? Thanks in advance

      Bruno and maybe Szobo

Thiago could also outscore either JP, DCL, Haaland or all, that would really be a shame

I decided that it would be better to Free Hit in DGW33 than in BGW34, since most of my ideal squad would still be available for BGW34 but I wouldn’t want to keep many of the GW33 doublers after DGW33 – and I had already played my Bench Boost in GW27 when my bench scored a respectable 15 points.
I also decided to Wildcard immediately in GW32 rather than waiting till GW34 or GW35 because I wasn’t happy with my existing team, but this might have been a mistake.

      Smooth:
      Brought in Dewsbury-Hall (9) and Thiago (13) for Enzo (-) and Calvert-Lewin (2).
      Kept Bowen (14).

      Rough:
Replaced Roefs (11) and Guehi (15) with Hermansen (7) and O’Reilly (14) and then benched both of them (O’Reilly had only scored 32 points in his previous 15 away matches).
Sold Virgil (9) and Rogers (5).
The three Palace players that I brought in for their future DGW all blanked (apart from Munoz’s defcon points).
Raya, Tarkowski, Semenyo and Haaland also blanked, and captain Bruno F only scored 4*2.

I scored 62 points and am back in the top million, but I could have got 80 if I had benched Raya and Richards instead of Hermansen and O’Reilly, or 65 if I had stuck with my existing team and not made any transfers.

The original purpose of hot topics was to allow users to have interesting discussions about specific subjects away from all the RMTs etc.
Unfortunately there are far fewer of these than there used to be, and it is a bit sad that the Scoutcasters no longer mention them.
But there are quite a few regulars who still like to share their triumphs and disappointments with each other.

        Smooth: Really nothing tbh
Rough: 43 points, only Thiago returned. However, with 3 saved ft just played I am reasonably confident towards the rest of the season...
(Just did Thiago, Dalot, Ekitike to J.Pedro, DCL, and Mateusz Nunes). Not popular picks, but at 652k I need some differentials, and I do back them all for a good double (with fh in the blank)

Rough: After debating most of Thursday and Friday whether to play wc to set up for DGW33, decided against and thus missed out on Brighton defense+gk haul. Roughest maybe still to come from not set up for BB

Smooth: Roefs and Virgil making up up for missing Brighton cs+gk . Thiago and KDH outscoring players I otherwise would have brought in on WC. All in all a green arrow - 5th in a row!

Smooth: bowen and oreilly in for senesi and ekitike. 76pts. 439k to 27k in 5 weeks almost like an FPL weight loss program

Smooth: 70pts on WC 20pts better off than the original team, 7 green arrows in a row and 12 green arrows in the last 13 GWs. Just about to get into 20K OR with BB and FH upcoming 😛

Rough; On a wildcard 32/BB33/FH34 standard strategy and I'm down 10 points this week mainly due to Virgil and Thiago burning me. Would have had Rogers subbing for Ekitike and would have had the extra CS from Alderete. Is what it is I had to WC to BB33 no other choice. Got O'Rielly in and now he's injured apparently!

Smooth; Got away with Sanchez, Rice, Mbuemo and Ekitike not doing anything. Was going to keep Rice one more week then move to Palmer but decided to save the FT so that worked out at least.

        Rough:
Was set on holding WC until GW35 and making 2 transfers for GW32--Timber and Ekitike > Virgil and Bowen. Then, at the last minute, decided to WC in GW32. That put me down 7 pts compared to my non-WC team. 🙁
Lost out on hauls by Virgil, Bowen and Thiago.
Blanks from: Semenyo, Haaland, J. Pedro, and DCL
        O'Reilly's hammy. Fk me.

        Smooth:
Verbruggen instead of Raya; O'Reilly instead of Virgil (I guess); Van Hecke and GroB close to Alderete and Szobo (again, I guess).

2 pts below safety score; OR dropped by 174 places. Pretty much survived; hoping DGW33 is ultimately worth it. We'll see ....

Keeping too many chips for the later part of the season can sometimes really wreck your team. I'd have gone FH33, WC35, BB36 instead of WC32, BB33, FH34 if I didn't need to TC in 36. It is what it is I guess.

I have never been in favour of waiting til late. Can’t see that it maximizes the chips. Having said that league rivals have used it to good effect to gain at the end. Not saying any option is correct I just think so many can be on the beach and it’s unpredictable late on.

Not nailed but doesn’t matter because he nearly always comes on and is involved and looks like doing something.
So for the sake of losing 1-2 points here and there he’s defo worth it.

I think his goal threat is pretty low regardless of mins but seems to be a chance creation beast

I think its over 3.5xg since DCL last scored a goal. 1 missed pen in there. I know the fixtures are good and its a coin toss with Welbeck if you are BB but I think as a non BBer I've come to the view I wont be playing 3 strikers and I hate that but you just know Ampadu, Scott, Senesi etc these guys just outscore them

6.5m to spend on a midfielder (not city) for this week.

Will be a -4 for Dango on a BB.

Who to go for, or stick with Dango and an effective +4?

No one stands out, so I would stick with Dango

Would you go without Pedro or DCL on a FH?

Pedro's last five are 2-19-2-2-2 and DCL always seems to be a let down even with nice fixtures

I have Pedro and would recommend going with for the double.

Avoid DCL, he is the nearly man and a 2 point magnet.

Thanks - yeah not sold on DCL.

Being on FH33 (and not BB) means I have the option to go 3-5-2 and go Semenyo - Cherki - Palmer - Tav - +1 (subject to any O'Reilly updates)

Choose 1 of each scenario please.

      If NOR is passed fit

      a) Start Bruno @ Chelsea

      b) Bruno > Enzo (FT)

      If NOR is ruled out

      1) NOR > Nunes, Start Bruno (FT)

      2) NOR > Cucurella, Bruno > Cherki (-1)

A1 too, but slight preference for Guehi over Nunes
