With six teams playing twice in Gameweek 33, there’s no surprise to see this week’s Scout Picks heavily populated by ‘doublers’.

The chosen XI draws on the Scout Squad submissions from Neale, Tom F, Sam and Marc.

As ever, there are certain restrictions:

  • An £83.0m budget for our starting XI
  • An overall squad limit of £100.0m
  • No more than three players per team

GAMEWEEK 33 SCOUT PICKS

GOALKEEPER

FPL notes: £3.9m goalkeeper, Stach injury + 2

Leeds United’s Karl Darlow (£3.9m) welcomes basement dwellers Wolverhampton Wanderers to Elland Road, before Wednesday’s visit to Bournemouth. Daniel Farke’s men approach their Double Gameweek in decent defensive form, with two clean sheets and only four goals conceded in their last six matches. Wolves have failed to find the net in four of their last five away trips, and while the Bournemouth encounter perhaps looks unlikely to harvest a shut-out, Darlow has save points to fall back on.

DEFENDERS

Who are the best Gabriel replacements in FPL? 1

Marcos Senesi (£5.2m) is our chosen representative from the Bournemouth defence in Double Gameweek 33. The centre-back has banked defensive contribution (DefCon) points in 22 of his 31 starts this season. He’s also produced four assists and nine clean sheets. In addition, Andoni Iraola’s men are unbeaten in 12 matches, and Senesi racked up 16 points in the reverse fixtures against Newcastle United and Leeds, suggesting he could flourish once more.

Having been passed fit by Pep Guardiola in his Friday presser, we turn to Nico O’Reilly for Manchester City’s Double Gameweek 33. The £5.0m defender has racked up four goals in his last five Premier League outings, as well as netting a brace in last month’s EFL Cup final. There is clean sheet potential on offer against Arsenal and especially Burnley, too.

Pascal Struijk’s (£4.3m) goal threat is enough to earn him the nod as our second Leeds backline option for Double Gameweek 33. Although he is yet to find the net this term, the centre-half leads the way among all FPL defenders for headed attempts (H) in 2025/26:

Struijk’s opponents in Double Gameweek 33, Wolves and Bournemouth, rank 17th and 20th respectively for StatsBomb set-piece expected goals conceded (xGC) since the turn of the year.

I'm hopeful for the hat trick Haaland that battered Liverpool in the cup

Would you TC on Palmer or Pedro instead this week?

I’m TC Haaland or Cherki I think. Palmer always flops for me.

Cherki seems risky too though. And Haaland feels like he could flop over the double 🙁

    TC36?

If Man City make it to the FA Cup final on Saturday 16 May

Does that make rotation in the preceding week likely, especially if Arsenal have maintained a gap in the title race?

Who else is on TC33 and if so, on who?

    Hey all

On BB this week and need to replace Cunha.

Have all the usual suspects in midfield (palmer, Bruno, tavernier, semenyo) and can’t decide who to get

From the doublers I could get: aronsson or okafur, or enzo (alreadyy have Pedro and palmer)

Or get a singler with a better fixture like rogers or MGW

    Any thoughts appreciated!

Hi its my first year in fpl, wanted some advice,

    my current team is

    henderson, dubravka
    gabriel, guehi, tarkowski,rodon, virgil
    rice, semenyo, devenny, wilson, fernandes
    thiago, jpedro, haaland

i have used my free hit and TC, left with wildcard and benchboost.

should i take a -8 to replace rodon, rice, thiago for senesi, tarvenier and welback? and use bench boost followed by wildcard in the next week?

    1. Conners
      • 7 Years
      3 months, 2 days ago

I'd just do rodon/rice to Senesi & Tav and play Thiago.

      -8 is too much

Don't BB in a blank Gw

Generally speaking wildcard to say BB35 or 36 would work

You might be better off wildcarding now

      Avoid the hits

      ... good luck

im thinking to bb this week (33) since it is dgw. I am thinking if i wildcard now, then wont i be in trouble in the next week which is a blank week for the teams playing double this week?

          Yeah

          BB this week

          Then possibly wildcard around Gw34?

The old saying is a bit in a double game week is minus 2 points

          Not -4

            Scrub that

Don't BB33 unless you are hot on Arsenal winning

            Or just take the hits

            People do often

People on these forums tend to plan around to avoid them

Evening! I have 4FT and I am thinking Timber, Rice, Mane, and Ekitike to Palmer, JP, NOR and Groupi Jnr. I would ideally like DCL or Welbeck but do not have the cash. Go ahead anyway or make a downgrade elsewhere to afford it?

Thinking I might go Curcurella over double Leeds defence on FH. Unsure about Welbeck vs. DCL though. Want to go DCL but his form has looked terrible. Gomez would be an alternative in midfield to Welbeck to cover some Brighton attack. What's your thoughts?

    1. The Big Fella
      • 9 Years
      3 months, 2 days ago

I’ve just gone Kroupi Jnr for my cheap forward as he is on pens, they play twice, have form and the fixtures for the run in are favourable. If I could have afforded DCL though I’d have been tempted to go there. He can’t finish his dinner but he keeps getting into good positions and shooting so he is going to score eventually.

      1. Steavn8k
        • 3 Years

Cheers. Have considered Kroupi as well, but a little concerned about his minutes. Think I might punt on DCL then.

So turn on who to get for City and what to do with TC. Have Semenyo, will get Haaland for Thiago (even though I’m not thrilled about losing him either), and then it’s double up in midfield with Cherki or get NOR?

    1. Fifa las vegas
      • 13 Years
      3 months, 2 days ago

Minutes risk over all of them probably, maybe less so for Haaland.

Arsenal game will be miserable though with little scoring for TC. Put it in NOR and then he won’t start the second game!

        I'm going for it

      I'd say Bijol.

Gudmunson should too but only just returning from an inury.

FH team, G2G? Don't trust O'Reily to start both so going for 2 City mids..

    Darlow
    Senesi - Hill - Struijk
    Semenyo - Cherki - Palmer - Tavernier
    Haaland - Pedro - DCL

Verb - Anthony - Cucurella - Van Hecke

I’m seriously considering the 2 city mids, not on FH of WC even. Would leave us on fairly similar teams.

    Play one:
    A) Gabriel
    B) VVD
    C) Mukiele

I'd go for C - best attacking threat with some defcon potential, otherwise A

      C for me

      But Villa likely win

      He's got attacking output too

Aw, everyone convinced me off this to C. Maybe I’ll stick with what I was on in the Gabriel tried and tested

    Is NOR (c) too punty?

Just thinking how much Gabriel (TC) flopped.

I was thinking about getting him and TC even before the injury worry. Now I’m scared to get him at all fearing he doesn’t start both games

All goals he's scored recently have come from just drifting into the box for unmarked headers - cheap goals. Arsenal are too strong defensively to let it happen again.

Apart from that threat he offers very little. Arsenal will score, too. Then it's a case of him being 50/50 for the Burnley game.

I like that line of thinking in pushing me toward Semenyo Cherki double up, another route to disaster

      Bogle, maybe Bijol
Cucurella only CHE with attacking threat, defence not convincing right now
