As we head into Round 30 of Saudi Fantasy, our experts are here to reveal their teams, break down their transfer plans, and explain the thinking behind their moves.

@DrWaleedKhokhar

NOTES

  • Round 29’s Lone Ranger returned 65 points. Captaincy on Roger Martínez failed, and 31 points were left on the bench, but it was still enough for a green arrow up to 4.2k overall.
  • The Wildcard is now active for Round 30, built with Double Gameweek 31 in mind. It’s very much a set-and-forget setup, with a weaker bench.
  • Fernando Pacheco starts in goal, with Zaid on the bench.
  • In defence, Moteb Al Harbi, Abdulelah Al Amri and Roger Ibañez all start. Abdulrahman Al Bawardi and Al Shanqiti provide cover from the bench.
  • All five midfielders start: Kostas Fortounis, Rúben Neves, Julián Quiñones, João Félix and Yannick Carrasco.
  • Up front, Cristiano Ronaldo and Ivan Toney lead the line, with Saad Al Sharfa named on the bench.
  • Captaincy is currently between Cristiano Ronaldo and Julián Quiñones.

NOTES

  • Lone Ranger in Round 29 delivered a green arrow, but it still feels underwhelming.
  • I’ve got five free transfers going into Round 30, and the team is in a good place.
  • Everything hinges on Alexandre Lacazette. If he’s out, I’ll take the risk and move for Joshua King. If he’s fit, I’ll bring in Kostas Fortounis for either Fashion Sakala or João Félix.
  • I’m also ready to be aggressive with captaincy this week. Fortounis (if I buy him) or Georginio Wijnaldum will get the armband.

NOTES

  • This week, I’ve activated the Wildcard and fully committed to setting up for the upcoming double.
  • In goal, Edouard Mendy comes in as part of the plan, while Ali Majrashi is key in defence. Al Ahly face Al-Okhdood and Al-Fateh in Gameweek 31, both of whom have looked poor defensively, so there’s real clean sheet potential there. Alongside him, Theo Hernández has a great run of fixtures against Damac, Al-Hazm and Al-Khaleej, with strong chances of at least a couple of clean sheets. Hazem and Abdullah Al-Hafiz are more short-term plays, with the intention to rely on Ali Majrashi again for the double.
  • In midfield, Kingsley Coman and Julián Quiñones come straight in for this week. I’m also looking to bring in Riyad Mahrez, while Rúben Neves has a strong matchup against Damac and could easily get on the scoresheet. Yannick Carrasco faces Al-Fateh, and with Joshua King leading the line for Al-Shabab and Khalid Al Ghannam having a favourable fixture, there’s plenty of attacking upside across the midfield.
  • Up front, it’s hard to look past the premiums. Cristiano Ronaldo is always capable of scoring against any opposition, while Karim Benzema has excellent fixtures against Damac and Al-Hazm and looks well set for returns.
