Fantasy Premier League (FPL) has launched for the 2026/27 season, so let the first-draft team reveals begin!

This time, we hear from FPL General, who has three top 500 finishes to his name. He went without Erling Haaland (£15.5m) all last season – and it’s not an experiment he’s going to repeat this time around…

FPL is back! It feels so good to be tinkering again. Pre-season is always my favourite time of the year. I’m really looking forward to this campaign after playing differently last year without Erling Haaland (£15.5m) and Mohamed Salah. They say a change is as good as a rest and that’s exactly how it feels. I’ve fallen in love with the game all over again. I can’t wait for the season to start! There won’t be any self-imposed restrictions this year; it’s back to basics and chasing the best Gameweek 38 overall rank possible!

With all that said, here’s my first draft…

FPL GENERAL’S FIRST DRAFT

Happy tinkering folks!

Sunderland fans, thoughts on Trai Hume as an option?

I love Trai but minutes not guaranteed mate, especially with the arrival of meunier and Nordi’s form last year

I think that even the most ardent Sunderland fans would not advocate selecting Hume

Looking to see what people think of my first draft.

    Palmer, Rodgers, Rice, Rio, Anderson
    J Pedro, Halaand (c), Bromley....
    Feedback lads ?

Defense is very light. Put more money there by dowgrading your attack.

Me saying that after i have 2 4.0 defenders

I’d assume the general consensus will be:

      1) If you go for Raya, you have to have a £4m keeper. You’ll not drop Raya before you play your WC.

      2) If that front 8 is who I think they are, you’re benching too much money. You shouldn’t plan to bench someone who costs more than £5.5m.

I’m not saying that’s right or wrong, but that is the feedback you should expect.

bromley, rodgers, calamari we have to guess yeah

i agree with you, he only needs one gk, id also downgrade a def to use that money elsewhere or keep in bank for the first move

    Current draft

    Kinsky (Dubravka)
    VVD-Mosquera-Kadioglu (Thomas, van Ewijk)
    Fernandes-Saka-Szoboszlai-Le Fee-Gross
    Haaland-DCL (Muniz)

    Thoughts? Suggestions?

Like it, though you might want to consider upgrading one of your 4.0 defenders and downgrade Muniz?

I read on this site that Dubravka is unlikely to get minutes and a price fall waiting to happen.

I don't think Groß will start, possibly Saka too.
      Like Muniz as something different.

Quite like it. Would keep an eye on mins for Muniz Kadioglu and Saka in pre season

    Thoughts on this draft?

Good set up, prefer Wirtz, cherki and Foden over rogers

I think Forest are looking at a new RWB. Keep an eye on that.

    First draft.
    Kinsky 4.0
    Mosquera Kadioglu Maguire Hughes Diop
    Foden Cunha Mbeumo Wirtz Ndiaye
    Haaland Isak JP
Undecided on midfield spots, any tips?

Cunha & Mbeumo will get rotated a lot, but their opening 2 fixtures are good. Foden didn’t do enough for me last season. Ndiaye wouldn’t be my choice either and could be leaving. 3 strikers are perfect tho.

        Would you go for
        1. Isak Cunha Ndiaye/6.0
        2. Bruno I.Jesus D.Gomez

        Cheers!

Only really like Bruno & Isak in those picks.

Look at Gibbs White and Ryan for cheap options in mid

    How's it looking?
No Haaland. No Bruno. No Gabriel.
Bench Boost draft, if they all start GW1:

    Verbruggen

    Murillo - Milenković - N.Williams

    Palmer - Semenyo - Mbeumo - Cunha - Wirtz
    Isak - João Pedro

    (Kinsky - Šeško - Canvot - Ballard)

    1. BR510

Very risky but could pay off. Don’t know about triple forest defence

    2. Marmalade Forest

I think Haland, Gabriel and Fernandes are overpriced.

      Finger in the air,

-£15.5m forward has to score 300+
-£12m mid has to score 250
-£8m defender has to score 210

      1. One Man
        • 9 Years

It’s unlikely any 8m mid or forward will score close to 210. Even if Gabriel only scores 190-200 I still think he’s great value. But I agree entirely on Haaland.

Any thoughts on this very early draft

    Lammens Verb
OReilly Hincapie De Cuyp Spence Cash
    Saka Sarr Semenyo Szob Amad
    Haaaland Brobbey Jesus

    1. BR510

Amad won’t have enough minutes, better options
Saka coming off WC, Sarr has new manager
Spence may not start, too much money in goalkeepers

Anyone else feeling this pre season feels like a direct continuation of last season?
Dunno. Not many new and attacking options from outside the league this time round.
Slim pickings in Manzambi, Munoz...I think thats it

    1. One Man
      • 9 Years

Yes, but lots of new managers makes it intriguing.

Ryan is underpriced & Gibbs white is V reasonable priced.

    Anyone else think so?

    1. Haa-lala-land

Rayan at 6.5 I think is priced correctly in comparison to midfielders around him. He could/should do well. Mind you hes in a cluster of potentially good mids at that price point
