- Andrew Thomas has struggled for form for a while and, with a couple of transfers to spare this week, I can finally move him on. Yohei Takaoka comes in ahead of Vancouver Whitecaps’ favourable upcoming fixture run.
- My Round 19 defensive recruits Steven Moreira and Tomas Totland both failed to deliver. With tougher fixtures ahead, I’m happy to move them on immediately. Finn Surman and Maxwell Woledzi are their replacements.
- Despite an appealing fixture on paper, I’m also looking to sell Denis Bouanga following LAFC’s indifferent recent form. Inter Miami face a leaky Toronto FC defence without the suspended Walker Zimmerman, so this feels like a good opportunity to double up on Luis Suárez and Lionel Messi.
- The final forward decision isn’t completely settled, however. Kevin Denkey and Prince Owusu are also in my thoughts given their respective opponents this round.

- No changes in goal this round. I’m happy to stick with Matt Turner of New England Revolution and Brian Schwake of Nashville SC.
- In defence, Ryan Porteous keeps his place ahead of LAFC’s home meeting with Portland Timbers, while Mamadou Fofana has New England Revolution’s Sunday night clash with New York City FC. Mathías Laborda comes in for Vancouver Whitecaps’ home fixture against FC Dallas. Kai Wagner of Philadelphia Union and Maxwell Woledzi of Nashville SC complete the defence. Nashville currently lead the Supporters’ Shield standings by seven points.
- I’ve made no changes in midfield this week. Evander of FC Cincinnati and Guilherme of Houston Dynamo retain their places, with the latter enjoying a brilliant debut season. Milan Iloski is another player having a great campaign for Philadelphia Union. Nico Fernández Mercau and Carles Gil complete the midfield, with their respective New York City FC and New England Revolution sides meeting on Sunday night.
- Up front, Lionel Messi keeps his place after scoring in his last outing and now faces Toronto FC at home. Simon Becher makes way for Idan Toklomati, whose Charlotte FC side host DC United. Anders Dreyer also returns to my squad after serving his suspension, with San Diego FC facing Colorado Rapids. The captaincy goes straight onto Messi.

- My goalkeeper pairing remains unchanged this week, so there’s no need to use a transfer there.
- In defence, I’m aiming to bring in Jeisson Palacios alongside Henry Kessler, with both offering good clean-sheet potential this round.
- Mamadou Fofana could also make way. He has a difficult fixture this week followed by four away matches, so I may take a punt on Jacob instead. In midfield, I’m looking to bring Miguel Almirón back into my squad ahead of his meeting with Sporting Kansas City.
- My forwards remain completely untouched this week. They all have excellent home fixtures, so I’m happy to stick with the current front three.
