Using the projections from our Fixture Ticker, we can identify which Premier League attacks have the greatest scoring potential in the opening round.
Below, we rank all 20 teams by their projected goals for Gameweek 1, before picking out the main talking points.

SUMMARY
Arsenal top the projected goals table for Gameweek 1, with the model backing the Gunners to score 2.53 goals against promoted opposition on the opening night. That immediately brings their attacking assets into focus, including Christos Tzolis (£6.5m), who many FPL managers are considering.
Manchester City rank second on 2.31 projected goals for their home meeting with Bournemouth. Erling Haaland (£15.5m) stands out from their attack, and many will be looking to him for the captaincy armband due to his consistency.
Manchester United complete the top three against Hull. Bruno Fernandes (£12.0m), last season’s highest-scoring FPL player, is the obvious go-to for many. Meanwhile, Bryan Mbeumo (£8.0m) has caught the eye of plenty of managers following an impressive pre-season.
Liverpool follow on 1.70 against a Newcastle side that have lost several key players and changed manager following Eddie Howe’s departure. Chelsea sit fifth on 1.58, with João Pedro (£7.5m) particularly interesting after an excellent pre-season.
Everton (1.56), Nottingham Forest (1.51) and Brentford (1.50) also reach the 1.50 mark. Brighton (1.47) and Spurs (1.40) complete the top 10.
At the other end, the model gives Bournemouth (0.98), Hull (0.81) and Coventry (0.63) the lowest attacking projections. All three sit below one expected goal, which boosts the appeal of Manchester City, Manchester United and Arsenal defenders for Gameweek 1.
