Goals mean points in UCL Fantasy, so identifying the teams expected to score heavily can help us target the best attacking assets for Matchday 1.

So, here we take a look at our projected team goals for the opening round.

These projections come from our brand-new UCL Fantasy Toolkit!

There’s free stuff in there for every UCL manager but, as ever, Chief Scout Members can dig even deeper.

From player points projections and underlying statistics to the Fixture Ticker and Draft Tool, it’s all here to help you build your Matchday 1 squads.

TOP 10 PROJECTED TEAM GOALS

Note: You can access all 36 clean sheet projections in our toolkit

PSG lead the way for attacking potential in Matchday 1. The back-to-back European champions are projected to score 3.60 goals at home to Slovan Bratislava.

It is an extremely appealing fixture on paper. When Slovan last featured in the Champions League, they conceded more than three goals per game on average.

Bayern Munich aren’t far behind. They host Bodo/Glimt and are projected to score 3.52 goals. Their attacking credentials are already well established, with only Arsenal scoring more goals than the German giants during last season’s League Phase.

Barcelona and Manchester United are level on 3.41 projected goals. United could run riot against Champions League newcomers Sabah, while Barca have scored more goals per game (4.25) in 2026/27 than any of the other 35 Champions League teams:

Stuttgart are the only other side expected to reach the three-goal mark. The German side host Viking, who haven’t featured in the Champions League since 1992.

Elsewhere, PSV are ahead of even Real Madrid, Liverpool and Manchester City. While the quality of the Eredivisie has to be factored in, they’ve had a free-scoring start to the season:

AEK Athens are a surprise name in the projected goals table but bear in mind that LASK just conceded four goals to Celtic in the play-off round.

Is Verbruggen and de cuyper double up too much on WC?

Only using 4.5 for the GK so it seems like him or Kinsky...

Fixtures with ARS, LIV and MCI are not great for CS until.GW9.

However, DeCuyper offers attacking return potential and Verbruggen might get some more work to do aka, saves and defcons.

I personally would only do DeCuyper.

A little stuck on deciding who to go for as my 7th choice attacker in midfield. Have around 6.7 to spend and on my wildcard.

Seems Odegaard should be the sensible and obvious pick, but I'm wary on tripling up on Arsenal now as I want to have the option to bring in Saka for GW6 with Isak downgraded to a 6.0 forward to make this affordable. I could do Odegaard anyway and switch him for Saka in GW6, but that just feels like a sideways transfer.

If Spurs weren't so broken, I'd want to jump on their fixtures in gameweeks 4, 5, and 7. There isn't a standout midfield option there at the moment that could rack up a big score.

The other options I have are KDH, Barnes, and Stach. Stach is the one that's intrigiung me at the moment as he's on set pieces and has good defcon numbers. Leeds also have 2 decent home fixtures in GW4 and 5 which makes him more appealing.

Thoughts on the best midfielder (6.7 or under)?

    Thanks!

In a similar spot as a trade out for Foden. Leaning towards KDH with a few nice short term fixtures and good back end to last year.

I agree, Spurs are.tempting but not worth the risk. Too many injuries.

Otherwise, Everton and Newcastle seem to have the most appealing fixtures in the short term. So KDH, Elanga or Barnes sound like good options. Or maybe King from.GW6 or Scott from GW7 on, for Stach if you want him in for the next 2-3 matches.

    3. Here is Cash, give McGinn

Im on similar spot but with 6th attacker spot. Currently and probably going with KDH. Im going with Konsa/Cala/Saka

Have you used BB? If yes, I would pick Slater as 7th and use money elsewhere

    A - Isak and Barnes
    B - Wissa and Gakpo

Champions League tonight, Wed, Thurs this week. Tues and Wed after that.

When your choosing your keepers check they don't play the same nights after MD1. Hard to avoid it for some MDs. Will lose the subbing players benefits if they do.

    Struggle start to the season...

    Verbruggen / Kinski
    Gabriel Calafiori Shaw Diop Kayode
    Gross Bruno Tzolis Szobo Hughes
    Haaland DCL JP

    Have 2 FTs... Considering:
    A) Roll again
    B) Gabriel + Tzolis to De Cuyper + Rogers
    C) Something else - inspire me
