The Eliteserien Fantasy season continues with Gameweek 21, and our contributors are here to share their thoughts ahead of the upcoming deadline.

In this article, they reveal their teams, along with their captaincy choices, potential chip strategies, and the players they believe can make the biggest impact this week.

NOTES

• Nikita Haikin’s injury has forced me into a goalkeeper transfer. That made me realise I could sell him for Leander Øy and use the exact funds needed to upgrade Alan Cole to Andreas Helmersen. I made both moves today to avoid any price changes blocking them before the deadline. Haikin and Helmersen are both listed by Bodø/Glimt, while the club also confirms Helmersen as a forward.
• Earlier in the summer, I considered Helmersen’s minutes too uncertain. However, he has now started Bodø/Glimt’s last five matches, so I think the risk is worth taking. His 8.5m price looks relatively low for a Bodø/Glimt forward on penalties. We’ll also get their line-up six times across the remaining Gameweeks, which gives us plenty of opportunities to react if he drops to the bench. The same applies to Fredrik André Bjørkan, who has also had his minutes managed at times this season. Bodø/Glimt confirm Bjørkan’s full name as Fredrik André Bjørkan.
• Those transfers mean I’m still keeping Eirik Hestad on the bench. I now expect to hold him until after the long international break in the hope that he returns to fitness by then. Isak Dahlqvist, on the other hand, will probably leave my squad eventually after starting the last two matches on the bench. I simply haven’t needed to prioritise a defensive transfer yet.
• Benching Hestad and Dahlqvist feels straightforward, but the first substitute spot is much harder to call. Alexander Warneryd still plays an important role in the Tromsø attack, although I think they could struggle against a Rosenborg side that has looked completely different since the summer break. That means I’m giving Claus Niyukuri and Marcus Haagensen Reed another round in my starting XI after both impressed last time out.
• Rosenborg also influence my captaincy decision this week. I’ve handed the armband to Amin Chiakha, and in hindsight I probably should have done the same last round. Since the summer break, he has scored in every match apart from the meeting with Bodø/Glimt. His classification as a midfielder makes that attacking role even more valuable in Fantasy.
• I’ve captained Zlatko Tripić consistently for most of the season and still rate him highly. However, Viking have struggled more recently, while their Champions League commitments now add another factor to consider. We’re yet to see how they cope in the league while also playing European matches during the week.

• It feels like a quiet week for most managers, myself included. I’m planning to roll another transfer, which will leave me with four available. Isak Dahlqvist will need to leave at some point, but I’m in no rush to move him on.
• Captaincy is the biggest decision this week. Bodø/Glimt arguably have the best fixture, but with Champions League rotation looming, none of their players feel completely secure for minutes.
• At the moment, I’m leaning towards Amin Chiakha for the armband. Zlatko Tripić and Niklas Castro aren’t far behind, though, so the captaincy decision remains open.

• I’m looking to bounce back after a red arrow dropped me outside the top 100. Haitam Aleesami unexpectedly made the squad in midweek, which gives my defence an extra boost.
• My squad now looks strong overall, and I have three free transfers with very few major fixture swings or planned moves on the horizon. That gives me the freedom to punt on Molde attacking midfielder Marius Grødem Grønnås, who returns from suspension. Molde have a very generous fixture run, which suits what I need from him over the coming Gameweeks. He also provides extra cover for the injured Eirik Hestad, particularly with four of my midfielders sitting one yellow card away from suspension.
• Next week, I plan to bring in Emil Konradsen Ceïde, so this could be Niklas Castro’s last dance in my team. He gets one final opportunity against a shaky Start defence before potentially making way. Ceïde is an attacking player for Rosenborg.
• I expect Tromsø to struggle this week, so I’m fairly comfortable benching Alexander Warneryd despite his attacking threat and ownership. Heine Åsen Larsen will join him on the bench, as I also expect his minutes to drop.
• Captaincy presents another difficult decision. Amin Chiakha stands out because of his excellent form and fixture. However, I currently slightly prefer Zlatko Tripić. He has the better fixture and a strong share of Viking’s set pieces, although there isn’t much between the pair and I could still change my mind before the deadline.

• I’ve decided to roll the transfer this week, but captaincy has given me a much tougher decision. Four players initially stood out: Zlatko Tripić, Amin Chiakha, Ole Didrik Blomberg and Niklas Castro. Tripić was the first player I ruled out. His non-penalty xG sits at just 0.13 per 90, so I would largely be relying on penalties for attacking points. He also missed from the spot last week and finished with just two points despite registering an assist.
• That left three options. The sharp market bookmakers don’t rate Brann’s chances of scoring particularly highly this week, giving them a low projected goals figure. That was enough for me to rule out Castro.
• The decision therefore came down to Chiakha and Blomberg. An in-form Rosenborg face an out-of-form Tromsø, so Chiakha offers an appealing form-over-fixtures route. However, Bodø/Glimt have the stronger matchup against Sandefjord, who have regularly conceded goals this season.
• On paper, that pushed Blomberg ahead. Rotation initially made me hesitate. Bodø/Glimt played a difficult Champions League match in Germany during the week, with goalkeeper Nikita Haikin also coming off injured. That raised concerns over whether they could rest players against Sandefjord, so
• I initially moved the armband to Chiakha because his minutes felt more secure. After looking further into the potential for Bodø/Glimt rotation, my thinking changed. Their league match has moved to Monday to accommodate the Champions League schedule, giving the players more recovery time. With Bodø/Glimt also pushing for the league title, I’m now more confident that their key players will get enough minutes.
• That brings me back to Blomberg. The sharp market bookmakers price him at evens to score anytime, which further strengthens his case. That was enough to settle the dilemma, so Blomberg gets my captaincy this week.
