Brentford take on Chelsea at the Gtech Community Stadium in the Gameweek 5 curtain-raiser.

Kick-off is at 20:00 BST.

TEAM NEWS

Xabi Alonso makes five changes from the side that drew 2-2 against Hull City last weekend.

Maxence Lacroix, Jordan Henderson, Valentin Barco, Pep Chavarria and Danny Welbeck come in.

Reece James and Joao Pedro both miss out due to injury, while Malo Gusto, Romeo Lavia and Jorrel Hato have to make do with substitute duty.

Interest in Morgan Rogers is particularly high this week – he’s the most-bought player for the second Gameweek running.

The England international retains his place from Gameweek 4, along with Emiliano Martinez, Wesley Fofana, Levi Colwill, Pedro Neto and Cole Palmer.

Brentford boss Keith Andrews brings in Michael Kayode and Mikkel Damsgaard.

Aaron Hickey and Mamadou Sangare drop to the bench.

LINE-UPS

Brentford XI: Kelleher, Kayode, Schuster, Ajer, Lewis-Potter, Yarmoliuk, Janelt, Anthony, Damsgaard, Schade, Thiago

Subs: Balcombe, Hickey, Henry, Ouattara, Wilson, Carvalho, Sangare, Diouf, Fredrick

Chelsea XI: Martinez, Fofana, Lacroix, Colwill, Neto, Henderson, Barco, Chavarria, Palmer, Rogers, Welbeck

Subs: Penders, Acheampong, Gusto, Hato, Lavia, Nicoll-Jazuli, Gittens, Estevao, Quenda

Best thing about the premier league the last few years has been the likes of Brentford, Bournemouth & Brighton.

Each year they lose players or even managers and still outperform against the big teams.

    It's fantastic to watch.....

Absolutely. I’m glad the bigger clubs don’t get it all their own way.

Hull beating Man U is tremendous for football.

He's looked very good, he's a young kid and I wouldn't expect him to remain this consistent over the season. He will be treated carefully, possibly rested a bit around Christmas. I can't believe you sold him.

WC team fail at its first test. Had Schade most of the week then in the last couple days talked myself into going big with Saka instead.

On Schade, how do you get 2 assists and play 90 minutes in this game and not get a single bonus point?

    1. Amartey Partey
      • 7 Years

I was wondering the same thing. Surely a player should get at least one bonus point for creating two goals? He was also really good the whole game, and even defended well.

You don’t know how many points Saka had scored yet…

As for the assists, idk tbh. I think they were both shots that rebounded, so ‘fantasy’ assists rather than real ones. I don’t know if that makes a difference or not

Both were FPL assists not created from what was deemed a chance.

To maximise price changes on WC is it best to activate early or take hits and activate it last minute before the deadline?

    1. Mr Turnip 1
      • 1 Year
      10 hours, 58 mins ago

Doesn’t matter either way. Just don’t take hits and then forget to press the button! If you’re sure you’re wcing then do it tonight. If you’re not sure then don’t take any hits!

      1. Mr Turnip 1

Got it thanks, I think I’d got confused and read that price changes aren’t affected by transfers on rb, but yeah that makes sense re: wc/fh

Second option is a dangerous game. Most are not as bothered as us to try to get more price changes with option 1.

Looking at predicted rises tonight, im delaying decision to wildcard.

Was planning to gw6 wildcard with 3 chelsea attack etc

Happy to see how the gw develops

Only konsa likely to rise of players ill sant and none of my guys dropping

Happy to lose 0.1 and think it over during the break as transfer market will stagnate

Yeah I'm of a similar mindset. I have Konsa. Contemplating Barnes, but is he really worth brining in?

It’s hard. You could reasonably keep as many as 9 of those players on WC I feel. Kinsky, Gvardiol, Hall, Cala, Thomas, Rogers, Slater, Haaland, JP all fine picks.

If you’d planned to do it then go for it if you want to. If not you could probably wait if you have a couple of frees saved up. If you only have 1FT then it’s probably not a bad idea to WC

I would probably say 7 could be changed so not a bad time to WC - if you leaning towards it anyway go for it now. 3 weeks to gain price and figure out what you want to do. GL

I can't help but feel like Pedro will miss out next gw even with the 3 weeks international break. It will be nice to get an honest update from Xabi now.

Knee injuries usually take longer recovery time but it sounded like it was only an edema. Once it clears up, he could very well be back but I still have my doubts.
